Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiersten Quin (born September 19, 1980, identical twins) are Canadian singer-songwriters, performing as Tegan and Sara. Born in Calgary, Alberta, they got their start winning Garage Warz, a local music competition in that city. Since then, the two have toured extensively with many artists, including Neil Young, Rufus Wainwright, The Pretenders, Ben Folds, The Killers, Hot Hot Heat, Ryan Adams, Veda Hille, Little Birdy, Bryan Adams and Weezer and on Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair. They are signed to Neil Young's Vapor Records in the U.S. and to the Universal Music Group in Canada. Tegan currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and Sara in Montreal, Quebec. Originally, as when they were competing in Garage Warz, the duo was known as "Sara and Tegan." They decided to change their band's name to "Tegan and Sara" because "Tegan" is a more unusual name and several other Canadian singers named Sara or Sarah Tegan’s childhood dreams included being a clown, working as a veterinarian with polar bears in the Arctic and being a rock star, of course. They did alot of talking between songs, telling funny stories and stuff. It was actually so good, they are one of those bands that sound better live than on CD

I went...even though in total it's about a 12 hour drive. I saw them twice at the end of September, and talked to them and stuff there so funny and nice. Not too many bands these days talk to fans after almost every show. They are amazing.
