For that week i did all my chores. dumb brother --_-- |

Anji Basket Case ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 15914 ![]() | Creating artificial life seems o be a priority for some reason. I think it's because by the time they do that, only the economically safe people will be alive and so population and poverty will be eliminated naturally by then. And then once they get that done they can clean up the environment with this artificail life stuff. Of course none of this could possibly go wrong at all. ![]() |
wild at heart Idiot ![]() Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 983 ![]() | i don't think it's possible to know whether the universe is never ending or not. Anyway it's big enough ![]() |
Anji Basket Case ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 15914 ![]() | You doin't believe in possible humanoid like features? If we look merely at the carbon-based life forms as we know them and accept Darwin's theory of evolution (law of evolution) don't you think that sensory features would appear in the 'head' part, or centered around the top? I do think that there are more complex stuff than just germs. Out of all the possible habitable environments we've found so far in our galaxy, with the other thousands of them throughout the universe and the billions of billions of probibilities of life forms, though we have absolutely no figures, I do guess anyway that there are complex life forms out there with an uncertainty of, like, 100%. |
Micro Sheep Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: - Gender: - Posts: 7584 | I think we are let to believe that we are the only ones in the Universe. But it is surely more than that to me ![]() |
John Entwistle Great Success! ![]() Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 55036 | I don't believe in aliens, but sometimes the thought that we are the only beings in the universe doesn't seem possible. Also, it's like why are we here? We are born, do things we don't want to and die. What's the point? It's all so confusing. |
TrainSpotting Geek ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 378 | Oh, I think about shit like this all the time. I also think about things like the universe existing before life came about with no one hear to percieve it (Quantum Physics, basically). I bet there are many other galaxies and planets with different forms of life. Fuck that "other planets don't have the temperatures and conditions for life to survive". If there's a creature out there that can survive on water, food, and our weather conditions, why couldn't there be something completely different that needs something completely different? |
Tahm York This Board Is My Home ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 31394 ![]() | I try and picture what's outside of the universe. like dark matter, or maybe another universe. Or maybe just blank. I just don't know, it hurts my head. |
Anji Basket Case ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 15914 ![]() | ignorance is bliss.:OK, as a physicist, I hate this question: 'What was before the Big Bang?' It's almost as irritating as 'what's beyond the universe'. It's like, no matter how logical is seems to the average human mind, it just isn't true yet people cannot accept it. It just goes to show the lengths of our natural human artificialisation of the concepts of time and space to the point where one must accept inductivity, or nothing at all. |
Angelic Fruitcake Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 6362 | I do think about it sometimes. Makes your head hurt. I mean, we can't be the only planet with life, there's got to be something else. And then I start wondering why we even exist in the first place O____o |
lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | Anji: Err..if I'm not mistaken, inductivity has something to do with electric currents. But I'm more on the biology side of things so either way, I don't get what you mean by "one must accept inductivity or nothing at all." I like to think that something started everything. But I can't envision a time when there was nothing. I just can't. Giant vaccum with no stars? No gas? No plasma? O_o. I can't picture nothing. Yet, I do recall someone saying that animals cannot grasp abstract concepts like zero and nothingness. Zero looks well and fine in my notebook. But zero for real...whoarly. |
TheBeginner Shoot Me, I'm A Newbie ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Male Posts: 16 | Yes...... the big , huge, never ending universe... The humang beeing always wondered about the stars , the sky and then of course about the universe. There have been, and there are still lots of theories about universe. Just look at the newspaper under science, you always heare something about it but sometines they hide important things. If I would be mother earth i would see the universe as a threat , a danger, recently i heard how in 2004 we were nearly blown up by a 300m in radius metorite, of course (of maybe yes xD) you did not head about it.... scientiest were in panic, they thought end would come. They did some math and found out that if that metorite would crash on earth , there would be nothing left. But forntunally we will live because the metorite changed minde and will just miss us for some thousand kilometers, yes we made it ![]() So what does this do with the universe? Well you could see the universe as the extension of the earth or better in the other way round and just as a threat. There are so many things up there, like, (of course) black holes? what are those black holes? those holes were even light gets caught , are they doors to other universes? Oh come on guys i hope you do not think about it , i mean we have so many problems in our own life why do we thing about the sense of black holes? Then there are Supernovas, old stars, you surely know that when you look up you see the past, yes, i am not kiddind. The universe should show us how small we are and should teach us how to threat the only planet were we can live. Aliens? Why not? If you look at human evolution , so it was told me, you will see that without reason the human species began to evolve to rapidly, we made a huge step forward but scientist do not understeand it, we should stell be neanthertalers , a theory was born, aliens must have come and manipulatet us so that we would evolve quicker.... An all of that strange sightins in ski, UFOs? Area 51.... Who cares If you do not want to become a scientist you should not waste to much time of yours in thinking about it.... consider... YOU ARE YOUR OWN UNIVERSE... there are SO MANY THINGS you do not understeand in your onw life, on earth why than thinking about the universe? all the best TheBeginner -->> Sry for my english spelling |
Anji Basket Case ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 15914 ![]() | lyrical_mess:By 'inductivity' I mean, to accept the logic that what has been happening since the beginning of observation, will continue to happen without exception. |
lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | But what exactly has been happening since the beginning of observation? |
Anji Basket Case ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 15914 ![]() | lyrical_mess:We have obsved time troughout the ages, so much so, that we used to think it just went on and on forever backwards and forwards. We now know that it isn't true, time was a result of the Big Bang. But it's just so very difficult for some people to conceive. It's like our entire lives, the sun rises and sets, and one day, nothing happens, at all. One would probably stooper into a state of disbelief. It's just not conceivable, and the concept that time is a resultant factor, not a pre-existing dimension is an even harder concept to grasp. |
lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | That's what I was saying before! Only in normal-people-words. Nothing is just...you can't imagine nothing. We can say that 3-3 = 0. Like, you can have zero apples and zero watches and zero ounces or liters of something. But in the bigger picture, its impossible to fathom. You can't imagine zero oil in the world or zero trees or zero water. And you cannot imagine zero itself because zero before all of us, before the Big Bang is just...o.o. How? |
vonny Admin ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 999 999 ![]() ![]() | I believe that what's out there is exactly like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Yes, it is fiction, but it's fun to believe that it the Universe is like that. I also like a concept I saw on Men In Black I believe it was. Where, our Universe is just encased in a marble, and that marble belongs to other beings. Just like how we have those spiffy marbles with all sparklies and swirlies inside. ..That could be another Universe. Just like ours. |
John Entwistle Great Success! ![]() Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 55036 | Anji: It's kind of like saying, "God always has been there and He will always be there." It's like how? And how is the universe never ending? It's like our brains can't comprehend that stuff. It's just to extraordinary for us to understand. |
lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | That's where I find fault with Hindu beliefs. Supposedly, there's four possible eras. One with 100% awesome pureness, then 75%, then 50%, then 25%. When the fourth one ends, this hercules-like character will come down and kill everything and it starts over. A infinite loop. How? How can everything start oveR? Just like that? Humans will be back again, just like that? My belief is that this is something told to comfort the masses, that when the sun explodes or when we cause our own destruction, its for the balance of the world and everything will resume immediately. The universe has an end. Its just to far away to think about. It's the other extreme. Zero and infinity. |
