Perfection

I see you walking towards me,
bearing blankets and a smile,
and I run up to kiss your cheek,
I haven't seen you in awhile.
We walk to find a spot,
no one seems to be around,
you set the CD player and the blankets on the ground.
You hand over your sweatshirt,
you thought I might be cold,
but tonight it's not your sweatshirt that I really want to hold.
You lay down beside me,
we look up to watch the stars,
I can hear your even breathing,
and the sound of speeding cars.
You press play to start the music,
I can hear our favorite song,
you haven't said it yet,
but I know it won't be long.
I snuggle right up to you,
and I whisper in your ear,
the only three words,
that you really want to hear.
You chuckle to yourself,
and let the music fade,
and as you whisper back to me,
I realize we've got it made.
