it was really good - awesome cinematography with all those sweeping mountain views, a touching love story (which you have to appreciate whether you approve of gay relationships or not), etc.
and I fucking cried my face off at the end |

 | January 22nd, 2007 at 08:21pm Yeah, while most of my friends aren't homophobic, it was still fun watching them squirm.
Jake Gyllenhaal, or whatever his name is, he was gonna be in 'The Dreamers', an NC-17 movie instead of Micheal Pitt. He turned that down because of peen shots and then he comes and does this |

| April 9th, 2007 at 06:51pm This movie has got to the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. Honestly, it was a very real movie I thought and it made cry :[ There were some things I couldnt understand though. Like, were they both gay before they went up to the mountain? Cause it seemed like Ennis wasnt and he just went along with Jack on the love making in the tent .-. and also....did Ennis admit he was a virgin before the slept together? Or was that like something else they were talking about o_o Anyway it was a very moving, well ACTED and DIRECTED movie. :] |

He turned that down because of peen shots and then he comes and does this Jake Gyllenhaal in The Dreamers instead of Micheal Pitt! I have to say, Micheal Pitt was excellent and the movie is already ace. Seriously suuuuuuch a gooooood mooooviiiiiiie! But Jake in it!!! Like, wow, that sex scene with Eva Green would be like a gazillion times hotter. OMG! Makes me want to stick Jake's face on top of Micheal's in my The Dreamers DVD.
Is Jake Gyllenhaal's French that good? Interesting.
I heard he was also supposed to be in Moulin Rouge! instead of Ewan McGregor. I can't decide who would be better for that one as well, all I can say is that like The Dreamers it certainly would be hotter. Even though it's not as sexual as The Dreamers.
The Dreamers has gay bits as well, or hints them at least, why couldn't he do them too?! |

| May 26th, 2007 at 02:38pm I didn't really get the point of The Dreamers. It was well directed and the way the setting looked was amazing but I just didn't.....connect to it :/ |

 | February 15th, 2008 at 07:15pm I've seen bits and pieces on TV - it looks like a really good movie. But every single time, I catch it at the same point in the movie, when Heath Ledger (RIP, Heath) is dropping the kids off with his wife at the supermarket. I swear, I've seen that part of the movie 8 times. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 40 | April 8th, 2008 at 02:34am I think Ang Lee did a great job directing it. It wasn't exactly an easy movie to direct, quite controversial too. So, it's a daring move. And with Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal who both did a wonderful job with portraying their characters. I mean, Ledger did great... the introvertedness of his character was totally brought out. So, yeah... love the movie! |
