Being fair, I personally only think the problem with the photos are the fact that she works for Disney Channel...and not being fair, well everything is wrong with them...Orvil But thats my opinion.

i don't know anything about miley cyrus, but i don't see why this is such a huge deal.

teens her age and younger are taking way worse pictures. and people say that

she has young fans, and stuff. if that's the case, they need to look harder because

pretty much everything on TV is sexual. maybe not a lot, but it's definetly there

Okay.

I see why Disney's putting up such a fuss about it, completely, with the whole CHILDRENARECORRUPTABLE thing.

But I'm all for the photographs, tbqh, and I'd've done exactly the same thing in Miley's shoes.

First off, I mean...Annie Leibowitz is one of my favorite photographers. No way in hell would I have been able to turn down an offer to shoot with her. The shot she took of John Lennon and Yoko Ono that was on the Lennon tribute RS cover is one of my favorite photographs...ever.

And I was talking to my mom about it, she said that someone, I think Brooke Shields was doing waaaay more sexual things when she was Miley's age, and there wasn't as much of an uproar about it.

And, I mean...she's a teenager. You can't [necessarily] expect her to be locked in that wholesome Disney Bubble for long. Teenagers in general want to try new things, do stuff that they couldn't do when they were...well, when they were the age of most Hannah Montana viewers. Be liberated. But that's nothing no one didn't know before.

And, well...I just like the pictures. I think they're very well done. [shrug]

So yeh, that's my [badly worded] two cents.
I still think the fact that she's fifteen negates everything else. If she wants to say she's an adult, then she should be concious of her fan base. My little sister watches her show on the DIsney channel, and I don't like the idea that my sister and all her little friends, who idolize that girl, are going to see her topless on some magazine cover and think that it's okay.
Like it or not, she's not a normal teenager. She lives in the public eye, and she needs to understand that. If she reallyreally feels the need, Miley Cyrus should at least save all this toplessness for when she's eighteen, a legal adult. Yes, she'll still influence people, but her fan base will have matured, at the very least.

I just saw the photo....
Is that what all this 'controversy' is about,
that photo??
it's alittle pathetic if you ask me,
instead of arguing about this the press should concentrate on more pressing matters...

I kind of feel sorry for Miley. Everyone grows up and does stupid things along the way. Drinking beer, smoking, dresing a little skimpy, etc. Kids try stuff and sometimes they regret it and sometimes they don't (though personally, I regret drinking beer. Nasty stuff).

But yeah. The only difference between Miley and any of us is that Miley has to do all her growing up in front of the world. Which could be a little uncomfortable...

What, and that's a good thing? I know six year olds that look up to her, must they accept her photoshoot and find sexuality at their age then?

Of course I'm exaggerating, the photoshoot would not insigate anything of the sort, but you are implying that little kids must learn about sex at a younger age since 'pretty much everything on TV is sexual'. Do tell me what is so sexual about That's So Raven or Phineas and Ferb. What ever happened to the innocence of youth?

It has somewhat of an artistic value therefore I honestly don't think it should be considered provocative, but I say this based on the photograph itself, I'm not completely introduced to the matter.

I really hate her in all aspects, but the fact she did some photos shouldnt brand her as a sl*t. Shes young and experimenting. Its ony a big deal cause she's a god damn disney kid.

Shes fifteen, shes got this job, I don't know her personally but I don't think she'd stand up and just say no. Her parents should have stepped in though, normally a dad gets a bit round up about that.

The pictures are no big deal really, Just not something you would expect from a fifteen year old. Kind of going out of her league?

^ And my whole thing is, even if this isn't so bad now, what will she be doing a few years down the road? I feel like this could be just the tip of the iceburg.

Why can't art be considered provacative? I think quite a bit of it is, thats the intention sometimes.

i agree - disney can't expect her to stop being a 15 year old just so that they don't get in shit. i think they've took it a bit too far because tbh what 8 year old is going to read vanity fair

Well, they can and do. Coolio They have a target audience they have to maintain, and if an employee can't do that or doesn't want to anymore... Disney has every right to get rid of said employee. They can't expect her to not be 15, but they don't have to tolerate any antics they dislike. It's a corporation like any other, they have a business to think about. Dno

Disney are vey protective of their image and they will impose restrctions on everyone who works for them. This guy who was a model Jack Sparrow for Disneyland California was fired because he was dating Ariel (the model for ther mermaid from 'The Little Mermaid'). I mean, they make ridiculous regulations that don't allow their employees to date because it could tamper the image which Disney sends to the kids. With a semi-nude photoshoot, with one of their more iconic representatives, splashed all over magazine covers, of course they will go mental.

I've seen the pictures, they don't look too bad. If she was older, this wouldn't be such a controversy. But she is young, and therefore should have been protected better by those representing her.

okay people, this is not a miley hate thread, get a grip. for the record, you don't know her and therefore have no right to make judgements.

my mental now is that it's OVER and people should just let it go. we have more pressing matters to deal with.
