This is my new song. It's called Voices In My Head. Look it over and tell me what you think. Also read the bottom because it tells what the song is about.
Wake me from reality
Save me from insanity
Never quit reminding me
Of the things I'll never be
[chorus]
Oh voices
In my head
Save me from
Reality
With Darkness
Upon us
Where can I
Be safe?
Who can
Protect me?
The voices
In my head
Who do I trust?
(the voices)
Who keeps me safe?
(the voices)
Where do I run?
(the voices)
What's that I hear?
(the voices)
[chorus]
Where is my life?
It's nowhere.
But I really don't care.
They keep me
Company
When I need
Somebody
[chorus]
Who are my friends?
(the voices)
Who do I call?
(the voices)
Who helps me out?
(the voices)
Who do I love?
(the voices)
[chorus]
They tell me
What to do
They tell me
What to say
They tell me
What to think
And they will never go away
[chorus]
Voices.
I'm not crazy. Well, let's just say I'm no crazier than most other people. This song just has a special meaning that most people can't see until I tell them what it is. Some people can't even understand it then. My Grandma, for instance, tried to have me committed. ( For those who don't know what that means, it means locked up in an asylum, loony bin, nut house, psych ward, padded cell, etc. )
It's actually about the overbearing power of the government. The "voices" symbolize the government, while the person hearing them represents the gullible fools who still believe that the government is always doing the right thing, even when they're not. They tell you what to do, think, say, and believe, even though it goes against the laws laid down by our Founding Fathers. They think war is the answer to everything, and they'll send people to fight even when they're wrong, but never go themselves. It really pissed me off, and what better way to make people see things my way than through song?
