| Creepers. Idiot  Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 966 |  The Maine's original lineup was formed in 2007 by drummer Pat Kirch, Alex Ross, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, and singer John O'Callaghan, while most of the band's members were attending Phoenix high schools. O'Callaghan was asked to join the band by Kirch's brother Tim, who is also the band's manager. In spring 2007, they added Kennedy Brock who sang for a band called Last Call For Camden, and with whom The Maine had performed. That same year, Osterman and Ross left the band while Jared Monaco was added. The Maine got their name from a song called "Coast of Maine" by Ivory, one of their favorite bands. They signed to Fearless Records in late 2007, and released The Way We Talk on December 11, 2007. The record hit #45 on the U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and #10 on the Heatseekers chart in 2008. The band self-released an EP called "Stay Up, Get Down" on May 8, 2007. "The Way We Talk EP" was their second EP. They recorded a cover of Akon's hit song, "I Wanna Love You", for release on the "Punk Goes Crunk" album and is also on their EP. They also released a following Christmas EP, which had featured of cover of "Last Christmas" by Wham!. "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" was their first full length album which was released in the summer of 2008. It was produced by Matt Squire (Boys Like Girls, Panic At the Disco). They just finished the 2009 AP Tour with bands such as A Rocket To The Moon, Family Force Five, Hit The Lights & 3OH!3 and are currently one of the acts for the Vans 2009 Warped Tour begining this summer. So i decided to make a thread of this band, which I was surprised that there wasn't one already, tbh. Personally, I love these guys and it's great to see how big they're getting. they deserve it.  |
