^ This seems extremely narrow-minded and unfair. People are bullied for all sorts of things. Can people help their appearance, personality, ethnicity, sexuality? - it's never someone's fault that they get bullied.

condomgun:
You have to walk with confidence and strike back harder than they do, so they know that you can't nor will you accept being pushed around.

Does that not make you just as bad as they are? Technically making you part of the problem? Dno

My brother gets picked on quite a bit for a few reasons, which are all quite stretched, and it makes me really sad.
He's 10, right, and takes medicine for his ADHD, he doesn't eat a lot so is a bit..scrawny. He also likes Pokémon and is therefore considered a "baby".
But see, his illness makes him think there's nothing wrong with people making fun of him. He thinks they're his friends. It makes me feel terrible.
Although once he understood that not everyone is his friend, when he crossed the park to get home and they pushed him around a bit.

...on the other hand, I've recently been well acquainted with the older brother of one of the boys who picks on him, and said brother doesn't approve of little brother's ways, or friends. This way, we might get somewhere.

So was I.

I just never brought myself down to their level.

I mean, if they had to bully people to feel better about themselves, then clearly their personal lives weren't all that great. I'm not going to add to that, because that would make me just as bad.

I'm part of a youth group in Ireland, Cork City Youth Council, and one of our projects last year was investigating bullying in schools. We investigated in 4 schools (2 all boys, 2 all girls - not many co-ed schools in Cork). Thanks to our project one of the schools that didn't have an anti-bullying policy now has one and the others are revising theirs. We got our results and we were able to see which areas needed to be worked on and we sent out a report to all of the schools in the city with our findings. Hopefully schools will remember that bullying is still a problem even if they don't see it. I really hate bullying. I just thought I'd throw that in here...

I love how teens these days find it ever so funny to pick on those who are M.R.
Way to go jerks, you're so cool for picking on the kid with D.S. and are autistic,
WAY TO GO...

That happens the most at my school :l.

I've been bullied quite a bit.

And I get twats slagging me off in the streets because I've got too much junk my trunk.

Best one I've heard was "Jammy Dodger Arse." :lmfao that once was epic fail. I can understand calling me biscuit arse but why reference Jammy sodding Dodgers? They're rubbish!

But I think it's ironic that the twats slagging me off are wasters - mostly - and I'm at uni and yet they call me stupid? Riiiiighto.

lmfao

Jammy Dodger? I'm sure you're beautiful Mr. Green

I wouldn't say I was bullied, but I took some shit from the 'cooler' people at school. In high school it really bothered me; as I got older, I realised I didn't want to be what they saw as 'cool' so why let it get to me?

I was always the person that was lovely in passing, without going out of my way, to people who got bullied - to a point.

For example: At high school there was a boy that got bullied because he was quite chubby but he was horribly rude. His family was 'dirty rich' and he rubbed it in to everyone; he made horrible comments and got them back, because of how he was.

But it was really obvious that his family weren't that wealthy and that he was conscious of his size. I did have occasional banter with him - if he made a nasty comment to me, I'm made a slightly joke-y one back and we actually had chats on occasion. But if he was really rude, I'd ignore him. He figured out that I wasn't going to go out of my way to be rude, like everyone else seemed to, so he stopped being nasty.

A lot of the time, bullying is a defence mechanism.

I am a bully as much as I am not a bully.
There are the kids that desrve it,
That I just absolutly can't stand.
However, I am very honest,
I don't go making something up,
I use truth in insulting.

Then again, I am mean....just my nature.
But I know how to controle it.

There's this guy, we've gone to the same school in primary, high school, and now the same college, and he's always been picked on. Granted, he's rude and obnoxious, but still, he's like the school outcast. I've never personally ever bullied him, but I agree with you, I think standing idly by is almost as bad. I'm just too much of a wuss to do anything.

That's incredibly harsh. I see no reason to bully someone - no one deserves it.

I'm studying the psychological effects of bullying for class right now and it's just frustrating since there is clear evidence that shows bullying can cause depression and other psychopathological disorders.

I am just being honest, you can't sit here and tell me that you NEVER have bullyed someone,
And that you don't.

Anytime you talk negatively to someone or about someone,
You're being a bully.

I am just admitting it,
Un like some,
I know I do it,
And I am not proud of it,
But I will at least admitt it.
