cos i think that they still have the attitude of being punk,and that even if after warning they started to sound more alternative,they are still punk to me,even if the more recenet music hasn't been Smile

In my opinion, they stopped being punk when they went to Warner.

Punk, Rock or a weird combo of the both, they're still doing what they know and love and at the end of the day, they're still making millions of more bank that I could ever succumb to. So, I say, they are whatever they write about...no matter what percussion and chords come into play.

No. Even when they were still signed to Lookout Records, other bands on the scene gave them shit for being too "poppy". But I guess they could have been considered punk up until (and including) Insomniac.
That being said, they're DEFINITELY really heavily influenced by punk. But Green Day have evolved further from their punk influences and they've created a bigger sound. I think a lot of people still call Green Day punk because they're kind of hard to label/categorize. They don't really sound like other modern bands.
