Tell how you discovered and fell in love with Green Day (the best band ever)
Well my story is
I was a HUGE country fan when i was 7 (2004)
i had friends who would talk about something called "Green Day" but i never paid attention cuz i didnt like any other music then country :/
i went to the store three days later and saw the album "International Superhits" it was pretty.. i wanted it but my dad said the band was "over-rated" but i just liked the cover.
I looked the band up since they were so popular and thought Billie Joe was gorgeous. I listened to a few songs and gave up on them. whe american idiot came out... i turned into a Green Day freak. I am now a total punk rocker fan... and a metalhead.
Green Day introduced me to rock
and now i hate country Smile

lol i was a country boy myself before i got into rock lol

the story how i got into Green Day:
it all started when i was about 11, just a couple months after AI was released, my friend was talking about how there was a song on Madden NFL 2005 that had curse words in it and he told me it was American Idiot by Green Day. so, of course the NFL was my favorite sport then, i bought the game and had a listen. i couldn't stop listening to the song. i'd turn off all the other songs on the music soundtrack and crank my tv up and just rock out to it. then, i started listening to rock stations instead of country and started to hear other songs like Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends. i was hooked. after hear some of their older songs on the radio, i bought Dookie and Nimrod on my 12th birthday

the end.. lol
i don't hate country, though. i just hate the modern pop/rock they call "country"

hmm, i see a trend here, i used to listen to a country radio station a ton, then i got a Pandora account and it started playing Green Day, and i really liked the songs. Then i started just listening to Brain Stew and Whatshername on some mixed playlist i found. Then my dad got one of those free Rhapsody trials, and he and i liked it so much we stuck with it. so now i listen to almost all the albums daily. Yep. thats my boring story.

Well for me, I was a pop girl (i hated country soo much hahaha)

One day, when i was in 7th grade, i was just listening to some Avril Lavinge, and then, while the bus radio was on, i heard Wake Me Up When September Ends. I didn't know this song at first, soo i decided after school, that i would check this out. I get home, i go onto the computer, i go onto youtube and look up the song. I found it, clicked the video, and started watching it. Now, all that i was ever paying attention to in the video, was the lead singer (of course i didn't learn his name until later). Sooo i looked up the other songs, it was the same lead singer. I said to myself "I gotta admit, he's gorgeous". And from that day on, i started listening to my dad's American Idiot cd, and got more cd's throughtout my life. I almost have all the cd's now except the 1st one (1,039 SO/SH). I still listen to Green Day, right up until this day.

I guess you could say, i'm an Addict. Lol Wink Btw, my Anniversary is tomorrow whoot whoot

I used to like Country too lol XD

When I was about 7 or 8,I heard Wake Me Up When September Ends on the bus, coming home from school one day,and fell in love with the song, but I never listened to any of their other songs, and I listened to country,(but I have still always loved Wake Me Up When September Ends) up to about age 9,or 10. Then one day when I was about 10 or 11,my dad played Boulevard Of Broken Dreams for me,and I loved it so there was 2 different Green Day songs I liked. Then when I was 12 I heard BasketCase and Time Of Your Life,I loved them both. And then I started listening to more of their songs and loved those songs too,Then I got
American Idiot and Loved it for my 13th Birthday I got International Superhits, now I'm 13 and I freaking love Green Day I got 21st century breakdown from my brother for Christmas. So I guess I am somewhat a new Green Day fan,but I absoultly love them ,and I would never think of listening to country again

I've never been a fan of country - I've absolutely detested it for as long as I've been alive. When I was a toddler, I was always surrounded by metal music. My little sister, born two years after me, was not and she doesn't care about music. But for me, music is like a part of me.
When I was around four-five, me, dad and my little sister always went down to sydney at nans. And when we did, we'd go in dad's ute, with the windows open and Nickelback music REALLY loud. I really loved Nickelback. After a while, when I'd learnt about them (five-six) I collected their albums of dad's music harddrive.
I had NO IDEA that Green Day were on the harddrive.
On the radio (six-seven-eight) Warning, Macy's Day Parade, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and When I Come Around came on regularly. I enjoyed Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Warning, but I never really thought about getting the albums.
(Eight-nine...) I heard a lot of Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends on the radio. I was kinda in a trance whenever I heard Blvd. Of Broken Dreams but neither did I think about getting the album.
Then, the day before school this year, I was SO BORED with Nickelback and other music I listened to. I went searching through the harddrive for something cool. I came across Green Day. Now, at the time, I wanted a song about taking risks, so when I saw Warning I clicked it straightaway. And fell head over heels, literally. It was like a dream! I was so excited, because we had all the albums including the live ones. The only ones we did not have were American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown.
Now I have American Idiot, a Green Day shirt, Tre's and Billie's types of shoes, Awesome As Fuck, and soon I'll have 21st Century Breakdown.

Well, my great great aunty bought me American Idiot in 2004 for my birthday. I didn't much attention to music back then, so I hadn't heard of Green Day. I didn't listen to the album for ages, figuring that, because an 80 year old lady had bought it, there was NO chance I'd like it. But then I saw Boulevard of Broken Dreams on Top of The Pops, and really enjoyed it, so I gave the album a listen. Sure enough, I loved it. So then I bought Bullet In a Bible when it was released, and that sort of introduced me to older songs, so naturally, I needed all the albums. So, I guess, that's where the love started, and it keeps growing!

When I was like 8 or 9 [2003-2004], I was at my uncle's house and I had nothing to do so I went in my older cousin's room to poke around. On his desk, I found Dookie and I started listening to it, because its cover looked great and was really attracting to me, since I was so young Mr. Green It was love at first listening, since I listened to Burnout (first song in that album) I was already totally into Green Day Very Happy
