Green Day to Salute Will Ferrell in Washington DC
Will Ferrell is about to get saluted, toasted and maybe even a teensy bit roasted when his friends and colleagues celebrate the comedian at the Mark Twain Prize presentation in Washington, D.C.
Molly Shannon, Jack Black, Green Day, Larry King, Adam McKay, Lorne Michaels, Conan O'Brien, John C. Reilly, Paul Rudd and Maya Rudolph are among performers and speakers set for this year's Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Ferrell will be the 14th recipient of the Prize.The evening, which will pay tribute to the humor and accomplishments of the funnyman, actor and producer, will be held on Oct. 23. The program will taped by WETA Washington, D.C. as Will Ferrell: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, which will air on Oct. 31 on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings).
