You're My Little Secret, chapter 1

February 17th, 2005

All of the guests at the party shushed each other urgently while others giggled as we hid behind various pieces of furniture or in the kitchen, out of view from the front door. This task was slightly difficult considering it was almost ten in the evening and we had been congregating at Tre's house since seven, which meant we had been consuming large amounts of alcohol since seven.
"Shhh, he's coming." Claudia announced to everyone, peering out of the living room curtains, and then quickly making herself scarce by hiding behind a recliner.
The front door opened and we saw the shadow of Billie Joe being led by Adrienne into the house.
"Oh, I wonder why the lights are out." Adrienne mused, innocently and rather fatly.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLIE JOE!" About thirty friends and family popped up screaming as Claudia flipped on the lights.

The crowd watched as Billie Joe feigned surprise and smiled a toothy grin. Most of us knew it wasn't much of a surprise party because Tre had accidentally let the cat out of the bag last week when he asked Billie Joe what he thought he should wear to wear to his birthday party. Adrienne chewed his ass out for nearly twenty minutes when she found out; she had been planning this 33rd birthday party for her husband for almost a month, wanting it to be special.

Billie Joe made the rounds politely talking with people and hugging others. I could tell he was itching to get some alcohol in his system; who honestly wants to be in a room full of their closest friends and family without the aid of alcohol? No one.

"Hey Adi." I said coming up next to my older sister and handing her a Bud Light.
"Hey kid." She replied, graciously accepting the beer I held out to her.
I grimaced. I just couldn't seem to shake that nickname, no matter how old I got.
"What took you so long to get here?" I asked.
She sighed. "He kept stalling at the damn restaurant. He hates surprise parties, which I knew, but he made a point of reminding me of what a stubborn ass he can be."
"Imagine that, him stubborn... Or an ass. I never knew." I chuckled as she shot me a dirty look.

Awhile later some of his immediate family wandered home leaving his closer friends to entertain the birthday boy. There was an amusing display by Tre who came downstairs at one point wearing a Firefighters uniform. We all watched in amazement as Tre proceeded to give Billie Joe a lap dance to Nine Inch Nail's "Fuck You Like An Animal," stripping down to a very questionable red thong. Of course Billie Joe played into it catcalling and slipping dollar bills into his barely there underwear.

I made my over to Adrienne who had her hand over her mouth in amazement as she stared at the pair; Billie Joe on the couch and Tre on the coffee table.
"I thought you said you weren't hiring any strippers?" I joked.
She turned to me laughing. "Oh God, I think I would have rather seen strange women strip than Tre."
"At least that would have been something new for us." I replied.
She laughed and we clinked our beer bottles together in an impromptu toast.

I glanced over at Claudia who was also appalled. I think more so that he was dancing on her expensive coffee table, but appalled nonetheless. She attempted at one point to shoo him off the table, but he just stuck his ass in her face and wiggled it about.

Mike wandered over to talk to me, dropping a kiss on my forehead.
"Having fun, Ava?" he asked.
"Well, after that little display I must confess I'm concerned that Billie Joe is leaving my sister to be with Tre." I replied.
His eyes crinkled with a smile. "Jesus, how do you think I feel? I have to share a tour bus with those two." We both shared a laugh as we watched Billie Joe smack Tre's ass one last time for good measure before Claudia made Tre wrap a blanket around his very exposed body. This made Mike and I laugh even more. He fought it for a moment but obliged when she shot him a warning look.

"Work it baby, work it!" I called to him as he made his way back up the stairs to change. He winked at me and made a show of slowly dropping the blanket as he walked up each stair, finally losing the blanket as he started shaking his ass again before he disappeared into his bedroom.
"Don't encourage him, Ava." Mike scolded. I winked at him.
"Where is the lovely Sidney this evening?" I questioned.

Mike had been dating Sidney, for almost six months, and it looked like things were getting pretty hot and heavy pretty fast.

"She's out of town on business in Washington, D. C." He responded looking a little sad.
"That's too bad. We really like hanging out her; well, I especially like her because she's always willing to do tequila shots with me." I replied smiling.
"Thanks. She really likes you guys too. Well, most of you." He mumbled glancing over at Adrienne.
I cringed a little. "Yeah, I would like to apologize for my sister because as we all know she can be a raging bitch when she doesn't like someone."
"I just don't get it." Mike said softly.
I patted him on the shoulder. "She'll come around Mikey, just give her time." I replied.

I stood in the kitchen awhile later helping myself to another drink, and looking around in amazement at the tons of people milling around and chatting. I made my way out on to the deck for a cigarette when I spotted the birthday boy standing all alone.
"Jesus, it's about time I managed to track you down! Happy Birthday!" I pulled him into a hug and he smiled.
"Thanks. You and Adrienne put a lot work into making tonight great and it was." He replied.
"Adi did most of it, I just filled in some of the gaps, ran some errands." I answered shrugging.
We stood together for a moment, both thoughtfully puffing on our cigarettes.
"Although next time I wouldn't tell Tre until there is absolutely no fucking way he can ruin it." He finally mumbled laughing.
I shook my head. "We should have just had it at your house, but we thought it would be a casual idea to say you were coming back to Tre's for a drink after dinner and then we were all heading back out again. We had a plan, Bill, it just kind of blew up in our faces." I replied nudging him.
"I know and I appreciate it. But I'm kind of glad he told me because I fucking hate surprises."
I chuckled. "You whiny bastard."

He grinned at me before stubbing out his cigarette. I did the same.

"Coming back in?" I asked walking towards the slider.
"Nah, I'm going to hang out here for a bit. You know, hide out." He replied.
I nodded. "Don't hide out too long; you never know who is going to be next in line ready to give you another lap dance." I raised my eyebrows suggestively and he broke into a grin.

I made my way through the people in the kitchen looking for the nearest bathroom that didn't have a line of people waiting. I decided I would probably have a better chance of finding an empty bathroom upstairs. I crept up the stairs passed Frankito's room and Claudia's room before finally coming to Tre's room at the end of the hall. I figured no one was going to be using his bathroom because it was adjoined to his room. I breathed in the familiar smell of his room; a combination of his cologne, soap, and a hint peach, which I assumed came from an air freshener somewhere in the room. I was crossing the dark room when I felt two familiar hands wrap around me pulling me close.

"Hey, I was hoping I would run into you." I whispered. He responded by moving my hair off my neck and pressing his lips to my shoulder. I gripped his hands and giggled as he dragged me into the bathroom; locking the door behind us. There was a small nightlight glowing over the counter, but other than that there was no light, but I didn't mind; he looked sexy and mysterious.

There was a dark shadow that fell over his face, making it difficult for me to see his defined features but I knew those blue eyes and that devilish crooked smile like the back of my hand. I put my hands on his ass pulling him closer as he gripped my face with both hands sealing our first kiss in what seemed like months.

I pulled away giggling. "You taste like tootsie rolls."
I felt him smile as he kissed down my neck. "I found one in my nightstand." He replied.
"Taking Frankito's candy again?" I joked running my hands over his shoulders, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"I'll take you to the candy shop... " he began singing cockily before pressing his lips to mine again, his tongue quickly sliding past my lips to tease me. He lifted me up on the counter, never breaking our sensual kiss.
"I'll give you a taste of what I've got... " I sang back when he broke our contact to quickly remove my tank top. He gripped my waist with his hands as I pushed his floppy hair out off his forehead and then traced his lips with my fingers.
"I liked your dance earlier." I whispered moving to unbuckle his belt slowly. "I was jealous that Billie Joe got to grab your ass and I didn't."
I felt him shudder under my touch. "Oh yeah? Maybe I'll give you a show of your own later." He teased.
I nodded. "No more talking." I ordered playfully as I covered his mouth with mine again.

I felt the guilt rise in my stomach for a half a second before I shook the thoughts of betrayal from my head and focused on how good it felt to be with Tre. We both knew someone was bound to find out about us sleeping together; we'd been keeping it a secret since last October. And we both knew the consequences would be grave, but for now we were going to enjoy ourselves even if that meant continuing to sneak around... After all, he is my favorite little secret.
