***Dakota's POV***
What a way to spend my 17th birthday. I'm in a hotel away from home playing gigs for snot nose kids that probably aren't gonna listen to us anyways. But whatever we get paid if they listen or not. And it's with my two best friends Rachelle and Samantha a.k.a. Sam. But all I need right now is my music and my coffee.
***Mike's POV***
Me, Tre and Billie were sitting in my café Rudy's Can't Fail Café deciding what time we should take our kids to the fair tomorrow. We decided to go from noon till 10. So we were sitting there talking when some girl came in and started singing Rudie can't fail.
***Dakota's POV***
I didn't realize it at the time but I was singing Rudie can't fail. "Sing, Michael, sing-on the route of the 19 bus. Hear them sayin' How you get a rude and a reckless? Don't you be so crude and a feckless. You been drinking brew for breakfast. Rudie can't fail."
"How may I help you?" I heard the lady behind the counter ask.
"Ummm give me a large espresso please."
"O.k. that'll be a minute please wait." she said as she got I ready.
***Mike's POV***
"I'll be right back I just have to go see something." I said as I slipped away to go talk to the girl. "Hey I heard you singing when you came in. Your pretty good."
"Oh thanks. I've been singing since I was like 4 so its nothing big any... Oh my gosh. You're Mike." she said realizing it was me.
"Yep that's me."
"Wow. I've loved your band since like ever. That's why I started one."
"Order up." called the lady behind the counter. "That'll be $4."
"O.k. just... Aww fuck. I lost my money. It must have fallen out of my pocket."
"Don't worry it's on the house." I said seeing as it looked like see really needed that coffee.
"Are you sure?"
"Ya I'm sure. It's no problem really." I said as I handed it over to her.
"Well I better go". I have band practice cause I'm playing at the fair tomorrow so ya." she said as she started to walk away.
"Cool. Me, Tre and Billie are taking our kids there tomorrow so maybe we can see you play. What's your bands name?"
"Oh well umm... it's kinda not normal but it's Pink Haze. Cause well one time my friend was high and thought the smoke was pink so ya. Hope I see you there tomorrow." she called out as she ran off.
"What was all that about?" Tre asked as I sat back down.
"Oh I was just talking to her and she said she was playing at the fair tomorrow so I think I might go and see how good her band is."
"Oh cool. We should all go." suggested Billie.
"Sure why not." I said. We got up and headed of towards home.
