The Best Day Ever, chapter 4
The next morning I woke up and there was a note on the table from Billie. It read: "Guys, went out to get some breakfast for everybody. Be back ASAP. The one and hopefully only, Billie Joe." Then I sat there drinking coffee and reading the comics in the newspaper when Mike and Tre came in. "Where's Billie Joe?", Mike asked. "He went to go get break fast for everyone," I responded and gave them the note. "Oh, OK," responded Tre. So, we all sat there talking and laughing when Billie Joe got back with the food. "Hey, you bastards, go get the rest of the food," said Billie Joe. We came back in with the rest of the food when Margo and Richard were sitting down talking to Billie Joe eating donuts.
"Hey, Richard, can I talk with you for a minute?" I asked him. "Sure," he said. "What do you need?" he asked. I got a really weird phone call from my brother Dana, he said that my dad got in a crash last night when he was going to the bar and he is in the hospital. I know I don't really get along with my dad but I need to go see him." "Well, tell the rest of them then," he responded. So I went and told them and I got a ticket to go back to Ohio to see my dad in the hospital. Then I walked into his room and said, "Dad, you awake?" "Yea, I'm awake," he responded weakly. "Dana called me and told me what happened." Then he went silent.
