The Rage and Love, Story of my Life, chapter 1

As I layed awake in bed, the coldness lingered around me as I felt the empty space beside me. I reached my arm out, hoping, maybe even dreaming, he'd be there. It was hopeless. He's been gone for a little over a month now. I know it's his job, but I do miss him. I knew I had to get up in a couple of hours to get the kids off to school, so I shut my eyes trying to fall asleep.

The familiar buzzing noise rang through my ears,

"Dammit." I muttered under my breath.

I lazily dragged myself out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and combed my hair, then walked to my closet to choose out an outfit to start the day. When I was finished getting ready, I walked across the hallway towards one of the bedroom doors.

"Joey, wake up sweetie, time for school." I said as I was opening the door.

I looked at the sleeping figure. His limbs were spread across the bed, with an arm hanging off of it. He was definitely his father's son. I smirked to myself as I walked across the room, with scattered clothes on the floor. I sat on the edge of his bed and gently shook him.

"Joey, time for school."

He mumbled something that wasn't audible.

"C'mon babe, time to get up."

As he opened his eyes, I got up off the bed and walked back towards the door.

"Mom, do I have to go to school today?" asked Joey, groggily.

"Yep, you sure do." I answered.

"Ugh!" replied Joey throwing the sheets off of him.

I continued down the hallway till I reached another bedroom door. I opened it and walked towards the bed.

"Jake, sweetie, wakey wakey!"

"No!" replied Jakob, pulling the sheets over his head.

"Aw, c'mon Jakey, your not gonna be a good boy for your mommy today?"

"But mommy! I don't want to go to school!" answered Jakob.

"Okay, then I guess I won't take you to get ice cream after school today." I said with a smile.

"No! Okay mommy, I'm sorry. I'm up!" said Jakob springing out of his bed.

I smirked to myself as I saw Jakob sleepily wipe his eyes and walk towards the door.

"Another typical day." I said under my breath.
