Billie The Bully, chapter 2
It's amazing how fast you can make a decision when you really have to.
Run?
Or stay and fight?
OK. Lucy wasn't a wuss. She could stick up for herself pretty well, her dad had always said to her: "if someone hits you, boy or girl, you hit them back ten times as hard".
This wasn't a different situation, was it?
His fist came towards her, clenched and hard. She shocked even herself as she grabbed it and twisted his arm, making him stumble in surprise. She took a deep breath and sprang her foot directly into his crotch.
Robbie, Rex, and the boy's friends hissed painfully as he grabbed between his legs.
Then Lucy ran.
She ran down the hallway, pushing open the swing doors, out into the yard. People glanced at her, occassionally whispering to each other. She sped past them all, not caring, and sat on a bench by herself. The bench was shaded by some overgrown trees. She could hide here, be alone.
After about five minutes she heard rustling and footsteps.
Obviously she couldn't.
She looked up and sprang away as she saw the blue hair.
"What the fuck was that, then?" He snarled at her.
She expected his allies to appear behind him, bu they didn"t. He was alone?
She sat back on the bench and watched as he perched on its arm.
"I said, what the fuck was that?" He repeated, his voice breaking the silence.
Lucy glanced at him. She looked him over. He had on a blue The Ramones t-shirt, tightish black trousers, Converse. He was like her, really, but obviously male and an evil demented bullying wanker.
"What was what?" Lucy asked calmly.
"You!" He growled back. "You fucking kicked me!"
Lucy gave him a disgusted look. "You're asking me what it was? And you've just said I kicked you?"
He stood up. She flinched ever so slightly. "OK, so what is it with you correcting my fucking grammar all the God damn time?!"
Lucy shrugged. He snorted.
"Hey, I don't know where you get off trying to intimidate me and those guys for no fucking apparent reason." Lucy scoffed. "You're such an asshole. Nothing better to do with your useless life, huh? We don"t even know each others freakin" names and you're already being a complete jerk."
She stood up and stared at him directly in the eye. Her sparkling blue eyes clashed with his, a mesmerising green with a hint of hazel.
"Billie Joe Armstrong." He said, extending his hand.
Lucy narrowed her eyes, then took his hand, shaking it. She let go, then sighed, and sat back down at the bench, her back resting against the arm and her legs hunched.
"Lucy," She said quietly.
Billie Joe sat at the end of the bench, near her feet.
"I didn't want to punch you." He mumured. "I... don't hurt girls."
Lucy snorted. "Why did you try to then?"
"Those guys," Billie Joe said. "The bastards. They make me feel so... cool. Like being a bully's a good thing, y'know?"
Lucy nodded, though she knew no-one would ever have enough control over her to make her do that.
"You should stand up to them." Lucy informed him.
Billie Joe shrugged. "It makes my life a lot easier. Being the bad kid. I get respect, friends, girls..."
Lucy looked at him. "Girls?"
"Yeah," He said. "Girls like bad boys."
"Not real girls." Lucy said. "Preppy skinny blondes with no life, sure, but real girls, with real feelings, will like you however you are. You're living a lie."
Billie Joe stared at her. Who was this girl to say his life was a lie? Sure, he wasn't happy, but if he was like her he wouldn't be...
The bell rang but neither of them moved. After a while Lucy got up and started walking away.
*~*~*
Thank God, last lesson, Lucy thought as she sat herself down in Science.
A girl was to her left. She had bobbed blonde hair and glasses.
"Hi." She said, smiling, causing Lucy to notice she also had braces.
"Hi." Lucy replied.
"You"re new, aren't you?"
"Sure am," Lucy replied, "I'm Lucy."
"Abi."
There was a lot of laughing and cheering and Lucy looked up to see her favourite people entering. Billie Joe leading, with two preppy girls and two jocks following behind.
He looked around the room, spotted Lucy, and quickly looked away.
"Hey, Abi?" Lucy said quietly. "You know that guy-"
"Billie Joe Armstrong?" Abi offered quickly.
Lucy nodded. "Yeah, uh, what's he like?"
Abi made a face. "Asshole."
Lucy laughed. "I noticed. Is he always such a bastard?"
Abi shrugged. "Pretty much. You get used to it. I mean, he was OK, at first. We even talked a few times. But then he got in with that crowd."
Lucy eyed him. "He doesn't seem the type. He's sorta a punk..."
Abi nodded. "Yeah. It sucks."
"BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG! DOWN HERE! AT THE FRONT! NOW!!!"
Lucy cringed as Billie Joe was moved to the front, right next to her. She hated this school so much.
"If it isn't Little Miss Grammar." Billie sneered quietly as he sat next to her.
"That supposed to be an insult?" She fired back.
"Sure is darling," He said, glaring.
"Well it's a fuckinf shit one, isn't it?"
"Lucy Salvador?" The stupid teacher spoke. "What language were you using just then?"
"Not sure Miss." Lucy replied.
"I think you are."
"Well I can't repeat it, people might get offended." Lucy said, giving Billie Joe a look. He raised an eyebrow.
"Lucy Salvador, you'll stay behind after school."
Lucy shrugged and started jotting down notes. Her first day was turning out to be such a blast.
About three quarters of the way through the lesson Billie Joe asked Lucy what the answer to number three was.
"It's GFY." Lucy said.
"GFY?" Billie Joe said, confused.
"Yeah." Lucy said. "Hmm. Now let's think. What could GFY stand for?"
Abi giggled. Billie Joe looked puzzled.
"Oh Billie," Lucy snorted, "Go Fuck Yourself."
She turned away and grinned at Abi. Two minutes later she felt a hand crawling up her leg. She froze. She knew who"s hand it was alright.
It crawled up her leg and reached her kneecap. The fingertips rubbed softly against her skin, then bang, the fingers pinched her kneecap bone hard.
"OW! SHIT!"
She fell back off her stool, Billie Joe"s arm slipping out from her trouser leg in time so no-one saw.
Run?
