Billie The Bully, chapter 3
"Lucy, you have only just started your time here." The stupid teacher - what was her name? Mrs Peters? Peterson? - said to Lucy as she sat at the end of the bench, as far away from Billie Joe Armstrong as she could manage. "I hope your rudeness does not continue. We do not need more students like Billie Joe, Mike and Tre."
Lucy shrugged.
"Lucy, do you care about your education?"
"Of course I do." Lucy said simply.
"Then why be so rude? And cheeky?" She asked.
Lucy shrugged again. "It's no big deal. It"s not like I hurt anyone." She shot a glance at Billie Joe, who was sat smirking at her and the teacher.
The teacher sighed, went to her desk, grabbed a text book and flung it onto Lucy"s desk. "Copy page thirty-three, section two A. Billie Joe, the same."
"Oh, Miss, don't I get a lecture?" Billie Joe said, still smirking.
"Billie Joe, I have given you enough lectures to write approximately thirteen novels," The teacher said as she sat back at her desk. "Another one would be purely pointless as you never, ever listen to a word I say."
"Sorry, what?" Billie Joe said.
Lucy scowled at him. "Shut up, Billie Joe."
Billie Joe turned to her and smiled sarcastically. "Want me to finish of that kneecap for you, darling?"
"Shut the f- hell up!" Lucy growled. "Get a God damn life."
"Says she who writes poems for a hobby."
"How do you know that?" Lucy snarled. "And so what? You write songs."
"I don't care," Billie Joe yelled.
"Well neither do I!" Lucy yelled back.
"LUCY SALVADOR, BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG, BE QUIET, NOW!!!"
Lucy glared at Billie Joe as she began to copy out of the text book.
"Hey, Lucy, wait up!"
Lucy groaned as Billie Joe rushed to catch up with her. She was sick to death of his teasing and nastiness. Couldn't he just fuck off?
"Go away," She said simply as she left the school.
"Aww, did I hurt you knee?" He asked, smirking. That smirk was going to get him a slap one of these days. "Aw. Lu-Lu got a boo-boo?"
They'd just reached the gates when Lucy turned and whacked him straight in the face. He grasped his hand to his cheek, confusion and anger written on it, but then smiled.
He was about to say something when Rachel appeared, with Ruby holding her hand.
"Hey buddy, what ya tryin" to do to my sister?" She asked, giving him a sour look. "You'd better not be tryin" anything on her."
He eyed her carefully. "What if I am?"
"You'll get a slap."
Billie Joe laughed. "I"ve had two today, thanks very much."
"Not nearly enough." Lucy commented. She looked down at her little sister, who was staring at the boy in awe.
"Who are you?" She asked.
Billie Joe smiled. "I'm-"
"He"s nobody." Lucy said angrily. "He's a bully."
"A bully?" Ruby looked shocked. "But bullies are bad! They"re mean!"
Lucy glared harder at him. "I know."
She noticed that Billie Joe looked quite upset. She felt a ting of guilt. But why? He was a mean, evil bully who didn't deserve such feelings spent on him. He was horrible to everyone.
"Well Lucy, are we going home or what?" Rachel asked.
Lucy realized she'd been staring at Billie Joe. He was looking back at her. The thought repulsed her. She looked away, nodded, and set off, without saying goodbye.
She looked back about two minutes later to see him still stood there, still looking sad.
Ooh great, Lucy thought, another day of happy school!
NOT.
She hated this place already. It was so stupid. She couldn't say it was boring, exactly: there was almost always something going on. But soon enough that"d become boring. Fights, arguments, punch-ups. Who cared?
A lot of them seemed to involve him though. Billie Joe Armstrong. That name appeared everywhere she went. Have you heard about Billie? Did you see what Billie Joe did?
She made her way to English, first period, which thankfully meant she was away from Billie Joe.
She was seated next to a guy called Frank Edwin Wright III. Lucy rolled her eyes as she plonked herself down next to him.
"You sure you're supposed to be sat there?" She asked.
"That's where the teech put me." He replied.
"So am I right in thinking that no-one in this class has a surname beiginning with T, U or V?" Lucy asked.
Frank gave her a long look. "Do you want to shut the fuck up?"
Lucy shrugged. "Yeah, OK."
He smiled. "I'm Tre."
"I thought you were Frank?"
"No-one calls me that, except teachers and my parents." He said. "Tre Cool."
Lucy laughed. It was cheesey, but hell, it was, well, cool. "I like the name."
So she spent English talking to this Tre dude. He was cool, funny too, and they got on perfectly. He thought she was kinda tame, but just when he thought she was a wet blanket she'd say something so random and mean that he'd laugh at her hidden-away evilness. She found him hilariously funny, and cute. Not cute as in OhmyGod-I-want-to-make-out-with-him-NOW cute, but more like she thought it was cute when he got proved wrong or embarrassed.
She really had to give up on the word "cute".
"Hey," He said as the bell rang for Break, "Why don't you come meet my friends?"
Lucy considered it. Robbie's friend Beth had left, and his other friend Rex was leaving tomorrow. Robbie had announced he was also leaving, next week, which didn't exactly surprise her. It sucked though. She didn't know them that well, but she could have!
"Lucy? Hellooo?"
Oh what the hell.
"Ah, yeah, sure." Lucy smiled.
So she walked with him, chatting and laughing. He took her outside, along the yard, and behind a wall, just out of sight from the teacher's car park. There was a guy bent over another wall.
"Hey, Mike, not that we're not liking the view dude, but..."
He jumped off and Lucy saw that it was Mike Pritchard. She knew him from somewhere, didn't she?
"Sorry Tre," Mike laughed, "BJ's down there."
"What's he doing?"
"Smoking."
"Why is he-?"
"BJ?" Lucy asked curiously. BJ. Hmm. Whose name had the initials BJ?
Duh.
"Yeah." Mike said. "Billie Joe."
Lucy rolled her eyes as Billie Joe jumped up, slightly red in the face.
"Oh not the fucking kneecap squeezer." Lucy glared.
Billie Joe smirked. "Ooh no, it's little Lu-Lu with her boo-boo." He sneered. "You got any more bullying petitions in order?"
Lucy got ready to swing for him, but Tre held her back. BJ laughed horribly.
"Trust you to be friends with HIM." Lucy scoffed.
"What's wrong with Billie?"
"He's a fucking psychopath." Lucy yelled.
"Oooh, big words!" Billie Joe teased.
She went for him again, and this time Tre didn't stop her in time. She ran to him, her hands reaching for his throat, and knocked him off the wall, landing on top of him. She put her hands around his neck and glared down at him.
In response she recieved a smile.
"This is a nice position, ain't it?" He said softly.
"I fucking hate you." She hissed.
"I hate you too. Go on, strangle me, baby, please."
That was when she became aware that she was sitting on him, her legs wrapped around his waist, and had been staring into his eyes. God, he disgusted her.
She got up. He stayed lying down.
"I can see up your skirt."
She scowled, kicked him hard in the ribs, and walked off.
Lucy shrugged.
"Lucy, do you care about your education?"
"Of course I do." Lucy said simply.
