The Love of Rivals, chapter 1

Intro

Adrenaline pumping through their bodies. Sweat dripping down their foreheads. A face off of two rival bands; Green Day, and Morbid Rose. The crowd running wild, moshing and screaming 'Morbid Rose! Morbid Rose! ' as the band takes the stage. Consisting of Morgan Riddle (vocals), Amy White (guitar), Kyle Gardener (bass), and Mark Smith (drums). Four seventeen year old high school students doing what they do, and love, best: performing as a local rock band at Kaffe Krystal. Green Day perform after M. R. They take the audience to another round of jumps and shoves in the mosh pit. This band is run by only three; Tre Cool (Frank Wright III; Drums), Billie Joe Armstrong (Vocals/Guitar), and Mike Dirnt (Michael Ryan Pritchard; Bass). The show ends, and the two bands are out in the back alleyway with the other local bands.

*Morgan's Point of View*

Leaning against Kyle's parents black convertable, I sighed, my arms crossed, and scanned the area. Other local bands sourrounded the back alleyway where we always hung out after and during the shows. Fans attacked the band members and begged for autographs, guitar picks, and other random objects belonging to us. One of our most dedicated fans walked up to me and smiled brightly. She was about fourteen. She had short hair that was dyed red. I called her Columbia after a character in the movie "Rocky Horror Picture Show" who is a groupie. She has a high pitched voice, but she is very nice.
"Hey! Morgan!" She smiled and gave me a hug. I returned the hug. We were kinda friends, but she was more like a stalker...
"Hey. How'd you like the show?" I asked and smiled warmly at her.
"It was amazing, as usual. You guys never let me down!" Columbia grinned brightly at me. I just nodded and turned to a preteen boy with long hair, wearing an oversized shirt. Obviously another fan. Of course, I loved the attention, but it could get wierd.
"Will you sign this for me?" He asked, holding out about four objects and a silver Sharpie. I nodded and took the guitar, guitar pic, demo cd (which I assumed Mark had passed out to a few fans), and a drumstick.
Quickly scribbling my name onto the items, I returned them to the boy, only to have him ask for a picture... Of me!
"Sure!" I said, smiling. I was a real camera whore, I loved to be infront of the camera. He took the photo, and walked away. I smiled as he left.
"It really is nice to see so many people are dedicated fans..." I said to myself, noticing Columbia had walked over to Mark, probably for another demo.
"True." I heard from behind me, and just about jumped a foot in the air when I heard it. I turned around to find myself face to face with the vocalist of Green Day.
"Oh. You startled me... You were amazing out there." I complimented, and leaned against the car once again.
"I'm sorry. And thank you, you guys were great as well." He smiled at me.
"Hey, you wanna come with me to Wendy's? We always go there after the concerts, but maybe we can go on ahead and the rest can meet me there." I suggested, peering over his shoulder at the fast food restaraunt. It was a tradition here, even from before we began playing here. My friends and I would come to Kaffe, and during that time, usually during when there wasn't a very good band, and at the end. He nodded before speaking.
"I'd love to. But imagine what people would say if they saw me with the rival band!" He joked, and gasped. I laughed and hit him in the arm.
"Screw the people! Let's just get going!" I said, clutching his right arm and dragging him over to the Wendy's.
"Let's go through the drive-thru." Billie Joe smirked.
"I've done that before." I smiled, remembering when I was with my friends and they did that. "But I'm hungry. Let's just go in."
"Fine..." He linked his arm with mine and we entered the fast food joint.

*Amy's Point Of View*

"Is all the stuff inside?" I asked Mark, while leaning against his ancient
Gray van. Morgan and I often questioned if the van was older than Mark
Himself. Though beat-up and in desperate need of a paint job, it served its
Purpose of carrying all the equipment to and from shows.
"Yup. Everything." He replied. "Get ready for signings." He pointed at the
Fans pouring out of Kaffe Krystal. Though some of them were going home, most
Were coming to the alleyway, the favorite hang out of bands and fans alike.
A group of teenage girls, each around 16 years old, came up to Mark and I.
"Could we have some signed demos?" squeaked one of the girls. She had bright
Yellow highlights on her very short black hair, a homemade Morbid Rose
T-shirt, converse, fish net stockings and a miniskirt.
"Sure." replied Mark. He smiled at her, and the girl, smiling back, looked
Like she was about to faint. I was trying hard not to roll my eyes. Mark was
Always filirtatous, and the girls loved it. He was meeting Mark fans by the
Minute, as always happens in the alleyway. I started handing out demos for
Some of the girls, while Mark was filirting with a few of them.
"Where is Green Day? Aren't they usually out here signing?" asked a girl as I
Was handing her a demo. She was wearing our wristbands, along with Green Day
Ones. She was most likely one of the fans who loved both Green Day and
Morbid Rose, despite the 'rivalry'.
"Why are you asking Green Day's enemys?" yelled her friend. I didn't really
Know how the rivalry started, but I play along with it when I have to.
Otherwise the fans got dissapointed. I wish the rivalry didn't exist,
Because some people were really into it. Even Mark and Kyle were into it!
There are always fights at shows, and arguments about it. I just try to stay
Out of it.
"Umm." I mumbled as I looked around. These girls were right, Green Day
Wasn't here. Which was a bit odd, since Green Day typically hung out here.
"Why don't you try Wendys?" I asked. "Lots of the bands eat there after
Shows."
"Ok thanks!" said the girl and her friend as they ran off to Wendys. After a
Few more minutes of signing demos and random objects, being begged for
Guitar picks, and meeting new fans, Mark and I were hungry.
" I'm going to Wendys. That's were Morgan and Kyle are." said Mark when most
Of the fans left. "You stay here, in case some fans want more stuff."
"Gee thanks." I said sarcasticly. "Now I get to guard the van while I starve
To death!"
"Yup!" said Mark while he waved goodbye, and walked to the resturant. I sat
Down on the back bumper of the van, bored and hungry, waiting for someone to
Come back. That's when it happened.
'THUMP! ' went the van, and I fell on the ground. There was a man on top of
The van.
"Who do you think you are?!" I yelled madly while getting up. He was laying
Down on the van, and kicking it at the same time.
"Stop that!" I yelled again. "Who are you?"
He grinned and said "I'm Tre Cool, and I'm not getting off this van."
