Billie's Dreams, chapter 3
Billie, Tre and Mike were so scared, but of course Billie the most.
"Why?" He asked himself over and over. "Why would someone do that?"
"Where are we going Billie?" asked Tre.
"The cops." He said. "They need to know, they could help."
"Good idea." Said Mike.
The boys drove to the nearest police station. The car journey seemed to take forever, Billie knew he needed to do something and quick.
"Hey Billie, isn't that like your dream?" asked Tre. "I mean, with like, not reaching the boys and them being in danger and all?"
"Yeah, except, nothing happened to Adie, like she was forgotten or something."
"And its all coming true... That's really strange."
"Tell me about it!"
The car went silent for a few moments. That's all Billie needed. Silence and laughter were the best types of sounds for him, except laughter wasn't exactly going to happen at that point in time.
They were all thinking. Why would anyone do that? It was some sick minded person that's all the boys knew. Where are they? Who had taken them? And why. Why? Good question. And why had Billie had practically the same thing in a dream the night before?
Adie and the boys needed help. The only evidence they had so far was:
1. Boys didn't come home from school with their nanny.
2. Adie was worried about where they were.
3. They were gone, kidnapped, gone.
A few minuets later and they had reached the police station.
Mike got out of the car, followed by Tre. Billie didn't move. He knew what it was going to be like. 'OMG you're from Green Day can I have youre autograph?!' Nobody would take him seriously. All for the attention. This was real. Very real.
They walked though some parked cars and crossed a small road where a car was driving past, passengers with mouths wide open. Why was it such a big deal? Everyone already knew the boys stayed in the area when they weren't working. They already went out everywhere without disguises, it was probably normal to see them around every now and again, but anyway... Some old people didn't even know who they were.
They entered the police station as quick as they could, they were all in a rush to get their family back. Mike and Tre were classed as part of the family, so, you know... They cared.
It was quite busy. Through a window in a wall they could see drunken men walking along white lines painted on the floor, guilt on there faces, but a smile all the same because of course, they probably didn't know what they had done.
There were a few chairs, for people to sit and wait on but it was nothing special.
A front desk was in front of them and Billie and the boys walked over to it to ask the person sitting at it for help.
"Can I help?" Asked a woman. "You guys really look like you need cheering up, whats the problem?"
"We'd like to report some missing people. My wife and my two sons." Billie said.
"Oh god. Not another one. That's the third kidnapping case this month. All to women with two kids, weird or what?"
"Really? Holy shit no way!"
"I'd prefer if you didn't swear sir." The lady said a bit unhappy with the foul language
"Sorry Mrs... " He read her name badge "Smith." He said back.
"Its okay, now please hold on and I'll go and tell sergeant Moors."
This was weird. Someone had taken him seriously! No-one had come up to him to ask for an autograph, not even Mike or Tre had had any people asking them.
They all went to go and sit down. Lucky, 4 chairs in a row were in the corner, 3 free together, so they went to sit together there.
There was a girl at about the age of 15 or 16 sat in the other chair, reading a magazine.
"What you in for?" asked Billie, she looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Um... I... I... Witnessed a crime... Um... Yeah." She said, Billie thought she was ill or something, she was white as a sheet.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre cool, sitting next to and talking to me. There's nothing wrong with me thanks."
"I... Oh... Yeah, that's us!" Mike said.
"So you like Green Day?" Asked Tre.
"Are you kidding?" She took of her jacket; she was wearing a Green Day hoodie.
"I'll take that as a yes!" Said Tre.
"I'm Lara." She said, turning towards them, "So what you in for, the Green Day boys in trouble, tut tut."
"Nice to meet you Lara." Said Mike, with a small smile on his face, but he realised what he was in for again and that smile washed away with the second.
"Yeah well, long story on why we're in here. Wife, Kids, kidnapped you see." Billie's worries had all just flown out the window when him and the guys were talking to Lara. It looked like they had made a new friend. But talking about it reminded him of what had happened and his emotion went back to sad again. "What's taking those stupid cops so long?!"
"Adie? Joey? Jakob? No way. Shit! Hey, those cops will help, but they won't care much. They'll try to do what they can, but why, why let them when you can do it yourself!"
"What?" Asked Billie.
"Seriously, I don't have to stay here, I just chose to, and it was a good decision! But you can do it yourselves, Find your wife and kids."
"I never thought of that, maybe we can, and Lara. You're coming too!" Billie said.
"Me...? Lara? Oh yeah that is me. Um... Okay!" A rather large smile appeared on Lara's face. "That would be cool thanks!"
The four of them ran out of the police station to get in Billie's car. They were off. They were going to find Adie and the kids. They were going to be heroes.
"Why?" He asked himself over and over. "Why would someone do that?"
