Billie's Dreams, chapter 6
They set off down a long road that looked like it would never end. This time Lara was driving, Mike next to her and then Tre and Billie in the back.
You could tell Mike and Lara weren't that happy not being in the back together cause they had had fun, but at leased they were sat next to each other.
In the distance they could see a gas station, which was good. They needed to fill up their tank and buy some drinks and food.
"How much money you guys all got?" Lara asked. "I have around $30. 00."
"Um... Yeah I think I have that much too." Said Tre.
"I have around $50. 00 in my pocket." Said Billie.
"Yeah I have $40. 00." Said Mike.
"So we have around $150. 00 then yeah? Without clean clothes and no food or money. Oh dear. We better find them soon."
They drove for, well, it seemed like 1 million miles across hot, sandy, windy roads and then finally came across the gas station.
They all got out of the car and went to find the toilet. Lara was bursting for the loo so she ran, so did Mike and it was a race. Of course, Mike won, because he was a gentleman.
"Ha, beat you!" Lara said.
"I let you win!" Mike said back. Lara got inside and leant against the door.
"Whatever! You just cant take losing!" Lara fought back. Tre was just looking around. Mike pushed the door in and got inside.
"Looks like it's just you and me baby," He said with a cheeky smile.
"Eeeuurrrggghhhh!" Lara said back, returning the smile.
"Hey, I'm not that bad!"
"No, you really aren't."
"Thanks."
"Itskay." Lara and Mike walked closer and closer.
"Urm... " Mike said, feeling awkward.
"In case you haven't realized we are in a toilet together, lovely isn't it?" Mike locked the door.
"Now we are locked in a toilet together. Lovelier." Mike said. Lara smiled. They got closer and closer until...
Both Mike and Lara were lost in each other, or shall we say... Swapping saliva? Well, whatever you want to call it, they were doing it. And they were both happy. You could tell. Meanwhile Tre had got a bit desperate.
"Will you guys hurry up in there?"
"Oh shit!" Mike opened the door and stood outside.
"What's up with you?" Asked Tre.
"Oh, nothing."
Lara came out, Mike went in and Tre still stood outside.
"How long does it take for two people to go to the toilet?" Mike came out and finally Tre went in.
Billie was gonna go last so he went and bought loads of water and food, they didn't know how far it would be before they could stock up again. Lara and Mike walked over hand in hand to see Billie.
"Oh, I see." Said Billie. Lara looked at him funny, but Mike knew exactly what he meant.
"Billie, you're good." Mike said.
I know, I know." Mike and Lara went to go get in the car.
"Billie, Billie?" Billie heard a voice calling from the toilet. "Could you get me some more loo roll? Please?" Billie smiled and told the assistant he would be right back.
"Here you go." He said, passing one to Tre.
"Thanks!"
After everyone had got back in the car they set off.
They spent the day driving and listening to the radio, having fun. They had all forgotten about their worries and got on with life. They knew everything would turn out good in the end.
Billie checked his phone. He had had it off to save charge, as none of them had chargers with them.
He had another message from Adie. It read.
Nearly here.
They all knew they were close. They didn't know how close, but they were close.
They just carried on driving the way their heart told them to, until it was dark, and as they did the night before, stopped at the side of the road for the night. They had some food and had a drink, and then, decided that they better sleep.
Again, also like the night before, Mike and Lara waited for Billie and Tre to fall asleep.
When they did, Mike and Lara smiled. They weren't lonely anymore. They had each other, they were now officially together, and happy about it.
Mike and Lara kissed again, this time, more passionate and for longer. They couldn't really do it in the car with trying not to wake the boys so they both got out of the car and went to lie on the side of the road.
Lara lying next to Mike, kissing him. What else could she want? Apart from getting Adie and the boys back, this was all she could ever dream of.
Lying in each other's arms at the side of the road, they both fell asleep.
