I can play the shit out o' drums, chapter 1
My head was still pounding from the party last night. I don't remember the last time I got so drunk. I could never hold my drinks that well. As an age old tradition, every time I passed out the guys always mess with me in some way. Today I woke up in the middle of a corn field. Lucky for me though, Jay was still there, passed out at the wheel so I drove myself home.
When I got in no one was home, as usual, so I go in my room and lit up a joint. It would be awhile before dad got home so I decided to stare into space. I can barely hear the drums from Lawrence's studio. I loved playing the drums. This may sound stupid, but I feel like the drums are the only thing I can really count on.
After I put out my joint I went for a walk. The night air felt cool against my face. After what seened like an eternity I came to this little clearing. I always went there to think. It's been a while since I talked to Billie. Sometimes I just miss him like hell. I haven't seen him and Mike in I don't know how long. I can just hear Billie and Mike laughing about my corn field adventure this morning. I made a point to call 'em, but I though better of it. They're probably out having fun.
I laid back, letting the awesome colors of my recent high overwhelm me. I don't know if it was the night air, but all the colors seemed especially bright. The swirling colors felt so relaxing I just let everything slip away, as I slipped into a coma like sleep.
*Dream Sequence*
I could see Billie Joe and Mike walking down the street. They were talking, but what they were saying was inaudible. I tried to say something to them, but I had no voice.
Then I felt myself being pulled at lightning speed. I could see a truck flying full speed down the road toward Billie and Mike, who seemed completely oblivious to it's presence. I heard myself yelling at them, but they couldn't hear me. I couldn't move. Then, I seen their bodies contort as the truck connected with them. I felt myself screaming bloody murder as everything went black.
*Dream Sequence Ends*
I sat up quickly, my body incased in a cold sweat. My heart was beating out of my chest, it hurt to breath. After I calmed down, I looked at my watch. 1:35.
Shit.
I ran like the wind, hoping that my father was staying late at the bar. Lawrence's studio was silent.
Lucky for me, dad wasn't home.
RING! RING!
I almost had a heart attack right there. I ran over to pick up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hello Tre`!" two recognizable voices said in a sing-song voice.
"Whatcha doin'?" they continued.
"Nothin'. You?" I said, happy to hear Mike and Billie's voice.
"Dude, we got the biggest suprise for you!" Billie squealed.
