Jinx, chapter 5

BANG BANG BANG

"Huh?" I woke up to banging on my window. "My room is on the second floor... how...? Eva wake up!" I said pushing her a bit. "Someone's outside my window."

"Oh my god."

"Should I take a peek?"

"Maybe... "

BANG BANG BANG

I figured that I should look, so I peeked out the blinds. I saw a guy that kind of looked like Billie.

"Oh my god Eva! It's Billie!"

"No way." She said. How did he get on the second floor? And how does he know where I live? I was so happy, but confused, so I opened the window and jumped into his arms.

"Oh Billie! I can't believe you actually came for me!"

"Hi, girls," he smiled.

"How did you get here?"

"I asked the bouncer for your information and I drove all the way over here. Then I climbed up your house to the window that had Green Day posters all over it," he said. I smiled very big and hugged him tighter. "Are you coming?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we can leave a note on the front door."

"Ok! Eva, lets get packed. Hurry and try to be quiet."

"Ok I will. Hey Billie, is Tre with you?" Eva asked.

"Yeah, he just couldn't climb up here. He thought he would fall." Billie laughed. Eva looked at me and we both smiled and tossed our bags out the window. "Ok, is that all?" I asked. Eva nodded, and we threw our bags off the edge and both carefully climbed down the house with Billie helping us one at a time. Then when we reached the bottom, Billie pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from his pocket and wrote this:

Dear Dani's Parents and Family,

You must understand that Dani and Eva wanted to go on tour with us very badly, so I stopped by and they came with me. I'm not sure how long it will be until they come back, but we told Eva's mom so there is nothing to worry about, and we promise to take very good care of the girls.

Then he put it on my front door, and we all ran to the van and sat down. Eva reunited with Tre and they hugged tightly, and when Billie got in and sat next to me, he kissed me deeply and wrapped his arm around me.

"I missed you," I said.

"I missed you too," Billie replied back. Tre and Eva were on the other side of the van silently talking to each other.

"Why did you come all the way over here?"

"Because I love you too much."

"What about Adrienne?"

"We're over. We've been fighting a lot anyways, you seem to care for me more, and I love you more," he said kissing my cheek.

"I love you too, Billie," I said, crawling up into the little bed, (the van is an R.V. ) and Billie came up with me. There was little space, but it felt good to be close to him. He wrapped his arm around me and brought me even closer.

"Who's driving?" I asked.

"Tyler. He's kinda like a body guard. He helps us out with stuff."

"Well, I like your van."

"Thanks. It's the only real expensive thing that we've bought."

"Oh. So how long are we going to stay with you this time?"

"I don't know. As long as we want I guess," he smiled. I turned around so I was facing him and I rested my head on his chest. Then I felt his soft lips come down and kiss my forehead, and I slowly closed my eyes. His arm felt like a seatbelt around me; I couldn't feel any safer. Just as I was thinking that I was safe, everything went slow. I remembered this is what happened when I had that bike wreck when I was younger. Then I felt the van start to jump. I looked around for a moment and then I heard someone scream in the background. Billie sat up and we looked at each other. He held me tight as the van started to tip over. I felt Billie's arms try to hold onto me, but he let go as the van jerked when the side hit the ground. Everything was slowly turning black. I tried to keep my eyes open, but they just wouldn't. Then I felt my head slam against something, and my whole world suddenly went dark.


Billie's P.O.V.


"Billie! Dude, wake up! Are you ok? Someone, call 911!!!"

"Dani?! Oh crap! Dani wake up! Dani!?!"

"Where's the phone? Hurry! They're completely out! Billie?! Dani?! Wake up please!!!" People were screaming as I slowly woke up.

"Billie! He's ok!!" Mike shouted.

"Oh, dude... you have blood all over your hands and face," Tre told me. I looked at my hands and then up at everyone.

"Where is Dani?" I asked.

"She's passed out... ." Mike said.

"Where?! Fuck! Please someone call 911, NOW!" I ran around looking for her and finally found her lying on the floor, blood all over her and completely unconscious. "Oh shit, Dani." I whispered and picked her up. Then I ran out of the R.V., and I heard loud sirens coming our way. Eva was in Tre's arms crying.

"Is she ok?" She asked me. I gave her a worried look. Then when the ambulance came, they took Dani from my arms. I stared at her as they put her in the back, and asked if I could ride with her. They said ok, but we had to hurry. I guess since we have insurance, the R.V. will be ok, and the guys will take care of it. But I can't think about that right now. What if I lose her? Her parents will kill me, and I'll be wanting to kill myself. I feel like shit right now. I should have known that something was going to happen. I should have never come to get her. I stared down at her, and out the window I saw Tre try to comfort Eva as we drove off. I bet this is really hard for Eva. I know it is for me. I looked down at Dani, as my tears fell onto her. I tried to contain myself, but this was just so hard. I felt my heart shatter like glass. It hurt so bad. I rested my head on her chest to listen to a heartbeat, but I couldn't hear anything. I felt my broken heart sink more and more until I felt like I had to throw up. More tears came running down my face, and now I was unable to stop. I know what you're thinking. You've never seen a guy cry before. But if a guy really loves someone, and that person gets hurt...or dies...then they really can cry. I feel like a baby sitting her right now, but I can't stop myself at all. What will I do without her?

Soon we arrived at the hospital, and they rushed her in with me following. "Emergency, emergency!!!" They all yelled. Then they took her in the emergency room and a doctor stopped me. "Sorry Sir, we can't allow you into the Emergency Room. I'll have to get you to sit out here." He said. I nodded and sat down on the booth closest to the door. I put my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands and waited. Then I heard someone yell, "I can't find a pulse!" And I popped up. I started breathing heavily as someone else yelled, "She's not breathing! Get more help!!" And I got even more scared. I held my face in my hands and started to sob. Why did I have to take her away from her house? Why did she have to be the one to win the backstage passes anyway? I wish that we could trade lives right now, because I'd rather me be dead instead of her.

"Billie?" Eva said.

"Oh thank god you guys are here. I'm so worried. I heard them say she wasn't breathing and then-"

"Billie, don't worry. It'll be ok," Mike told me, patting my back. I tried smile a bit, but it just turned into another tear and a worried look.

"Sit down," I said. Eva was crying, too. I felt really bad for her. She might lose her best friend. I looked at her and patted the part of the booth that was next to me. She got up and sat next to me. "I'm sorry," I told her.

"It wasn't your fault."

"Yes, it was my idea to come and take you two from Dani's house. So really, it is."

"Well... .it's because you love her. You didn't know that this was going to happen," she told me, in a very serious. Her voice was broken and she was still very sad. I reached over and hugged her, rubbing her back.

"She'll be ok," I told her. I wasn't very sure, but I had to comfort her. Then right as I let go of Eva, a doctor ran out.

"Is there a Billie out here?" He asked.

"Yeah, that's me," I answered.

"Well your girlfriend is calling your name And Eva, too. Is there an Eva?"

"Yes that's me," she answered.

"Can you both come with me? She's acting very strange, saying that she has to see you two." We followed her all the way into the room Dani was in.

"Pleahse get them for me! Just get Billie and Evah for me, pleahse! Pleahse I..." she yelled as we entered. "Evah, pleahse," she said. Eva ran over to her and hugged her. Eva started crying again.

"I'm so glad you're ok. I was so worried," Eva said.

"... ... Where's Billieh... ." She said. She was talking very breathy. Then she spotted me. "Billieh pleahse... ..pleahse come over here..." she begged. I walked over to her and bent over and hugged her.

"I love you so much, Dani. Are you ok?" I asked.

"I am now. Oh, Billieh I love you so much," she said. I smiled as one of my tears dripped on her cheek.

"I'm so sorry," I said.

"Dohn't worry," she said.

"No, I meant for almost killing you. I should have never taken you away from your house," I told her. She smiled and pulled me closer to her with her arm. I went up to her lips and kissed her deeply, and then put my head on her chest to hear her heartbeat. "It's the nicest sound I've heard all day," I looked at Eva and smiled. "Comere'," I told her. She walked to the side that I was at and kneeled down next to me and Dani. "We love you," I said. Dani smiled and we both hugged her.

"I love you guys too," she replied. Then I got up and looked at the doctor.

"When can she come home with us?" I asked.

"Today...now if she feels ok," he said. I smiled. Dani looked up at me.

"Mike will drive this time, ok?" I said. She nodded. "I'm firing the "bodyguard" right after he pays for your hospital bill," I added.

"Um, Sir? You're Billie Joe Armstrong, aren't you?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"Give us your autograph, and you can get out for free," he smiled.

"Alright. I guess it's Tyler's lucky day. He gets to get fired without paying a hospital bill. But he still has to buy a new R.V." I smiled back. I laughed a little and signed the doctor's stuff and Dani got up. I picked her up off her feet and walked out.

"Billieh, I'm ok, really," Dani said, and Eva laughed. "I walked outside and Eva told Mike and Tre to come. Then I saw a brand new R.V.. I guess Tyler bought a new one already.

"There's a place right down there where they sell them. Also, I told Tyler that he's fired for almost killing all of us. We're so mean," Mike laughed.

"Thanks, and you're driving," I said. Mike nodded and we all got in. it was much bigger and nicer. I ran to the back where there was a nice bedroom, then I placed Dani on the bed and crawled in myself. Eva went with Tre and sat on a couch and started talking again. I brought Dani close to me, as close as possible. "I love you," I told her once again.

She sighed happily, "I love you too, Billieh." I smiled and kissed the back of her head.

"Your parents will never know that you got hurt, right?" I asked. I felt her nod against my chest and then she turned around so she faced me and she looked at me. "You're so strong," I said.

"Not as strong as you, I'm not an Armstrong, carrying me...so strong," she smiled. I went down and kissed her twice, brought her even closer to my chest, and closed my eyes.

"I won't let go this time. I can't believe that I did in the first place, but I really wish that I never did. I swear, I won't let go," I told her. I looked at her again, and she was snuggled up to my chest smiling with her eyes closed. I closed mine again, and soon I fell asleep.
