One Simple Move, chapter 5
Ooh baby I love your way... Everyday,
Wanna tell you I love your way,
Wanna' be with you night and day,
But don't hesitate 'cause your love won't wait...

The sun was shining high in the Californian sky. I was sitting on the lawn in the back garden writing lyrics down into my notebook.
I was really getting into the song writing and kept a book with me at all times.
It's been so long since I saw you last,
Oh how I miss you,
Can't believe it went so fast,
All these years without you.
That's all I had written that day. It was about my mother. In a weeks time it will be her death anniversary. Almost 12 years gone.
I looked up at hearing a non familiar voice. A little boy about 10 was heading towards me. He could only be one person, the striking resemblance made me smile.
"Hi, you must be Lauren. I'm Joey." He smiled with an outstretched hand. He looked just like Billie. He was wearing a Green Day shirt, Blue shorts and low top Converse. Such a cool kid.
"Hi, your dad has mentioned a lot about you. How are you doing mate?"
"I'm good. What are you writing?" He asked peering over at the sheet. His brows furrowed and he looked up at me again.
"Those sound kinda' sad. Are you sad Lauren?" He asked. The young innocence seeping through his voice.
I sighed rubbing a hand over my eyes before looking at him again. He was still looking at me, waiting for an answer.
"Erm, well yeah I guess so. You see my mom passed away when I was 7 and well it's her anniversary next week so I'm just bummed about that."
"Oh. I'm sorry Lauren. Y'know my grandpa died before I was born. I never knew him but it's still sad 'cause when it's his anniversary my daddy gets upset. And I don't like seeing him upset. Does your dad get upset?"
"Well my dad died just before I turned 10."
"Oh."
There was an awkward silence until Billie Joe appeared at the door. He was holding another young boy, Jakob, and he smiled at me before calling Joey inside.
We said our goodbyes and Joey jogged inside leaving me along once again.
He was just like Billie. It was cute. Billie was such a good father, He talks non stop about his kids, Like what Joey did at school that day or the new words that Jakob's coming out with.
It makes me smile.
I watched the sun set. It cast streaks of all different colours across the sky. Pink, red, blue and orange. It was so beautiful.
I grabbed the old camera lying beside me before snapping a few different pictures of the sky and some of the flowers in Ollie's garden. I loved photography; I had since I was a child. I had won many competitions for it too and I was proud of that.
Maybe it could get me somewhere. Something to do.

"Laaaaauuuuuren!"
I snapped awake to find Billie perched over me on the bed.
He started to laugh at the fact that he had scared me to death and I whacked him across the head.
"Oww!" He pouted "I was just waking you up!"
I giggled at his face. He was still leaning over me, closer than ever before. His warm breath tickled my face and he smiled before winking at me. Sometimes I'd swear he knew how I felt about him. It scared me.
"Dude, did you get her up yet?" Tre asked coming in the door and ruining the moment that could have happened.
"What the fuck are you two doing in here?! It's only-." I paused looking over at the clock. "It's only 10 to fuckin' 8!" I groaned pushing Billie off me and rolling over.
I heard Billie burst into a fit off laughing after rolling off the bed.
"We're bored Lauren!" Tre whined "Coming swimming with us!"
I groaned again, sitting up this time. I rubbed my eyes before flattening down my hair and looking at the two again.
"Guys, it's going to be freezing in the pool. Hey, isn't it Mike's birthday today? Why aren't you off bothering him?"
Billie smirked from his position on the ground.
"'Cause he's off spending time with Estelle. We're going out to dinner later with him. So yeah, Come swimming!" He finished.
"No guys seriously, I'm too tired and it's early and... "
I didn't even get to finish my sentence when I felt two arms wrapping around me and picking me up.
Billie giggled as he threw me over his shoulders and started to run down the stairs.
"Billiiiiiiiiieeee!" I squealed kicking him while laughing.
"Tre! C'mon man we're going in the pool!"
He bounded out the back door, running straight for the pool. Oh shit.
We landed in the pool with a splash. Billie resurfaced first, still laughing while rubbing his hair out of his face.
I came up next, shivering.
"Billie Joe! Oh my god. I can't believe you just did that!" I squealed splashing some of the ice cold water at him. He just laughed even more.
"It's not funny!" But I couldn't help but grin. "It's so cold and god! You're so mean!"
Still laughing he started to swim towards me. I hopped on his back and we started to mess around in the water.
"Hey guys!" We both looked up and there was a flash.
"Aww! What a Kodak moment!" Tre smiled, placing my camera on the ground again.
Taking off his watch, shoes and sunglasses Tre jumped into the water, splashing us both again. Luckily Billie and I were both just out of bed so we weren't wearing anything important.
The three of us splashed and played around in the pool for hours.
Ollie came home from work at about three. She took one look at us, smiled and shook her head before walking into the house again.
It was moments like these that made me grateful for the life I'd had.

I was sitting in my bedroom drying off my hair when there was a knock on the door.
Billie entered soon after, a grin on his face.
"Hey Billie, What's up?" I questioned turning around to face him.
He flopped down on my bed before looking at me again.
"Nothing much. It's Mikes birthday dinner tonight and well he's bringing his girlfriend and well Tre's bringing a girl and I was just erm wondering if you'd like to come with me." He looked at my sheepily.
"That'd be real nice." We both grinned. "What time are we leaving?"
"About 8.00. It's nothing too fancy."
I knew that meant it would be posh for me. Oh god. Gotta' find something to wear.
"Cool. Well I'll see you then... I have to get stuff to wear!"
Billie sighed before laughing and heading towards the door.
"Pfft. Women!"
Wanna tell you I love your way,
Wanna' be with you night and day,
But don't hesitate 'cause your love won't wait...
