"I think I'm falling in love with you, Billie...", chapter 5
When Dixie got down into the family room, she screamed with joy. Jana got out of her room, dressed in a vintage 'The Clash' tour shirt, faded jeans, and black converse with black laces. She looked at Dixie in perplexity. Dixie turned to Jana happily and jumped, doing the splits in the air, and landing back on her feet. "Mike likes me!" She proclaimed happily. Jana just shook her head and sat on the other side of the couch by Billie. Dixie did a cartwheel in front of them all, blocking the TV screen.
"Is she like this before she has coffee?" Billie asked. Jana looked over at Billie and laughed.
"She doesn't need coffee." Billie smiled and pretended to stretch and yawn, but ended up putting his arm around Jana. Jana had seen that many times before, but didn't care. She liked having Billie want to put his arm around her. Mike walked down the stairs, fixing a watch on his skinny wrist. Dixie sprang from the arm of the couch and raced up to him. She leaned forward and kissed him. Mike was in a pleasant shock, and Dixie broke off a couple of seconds. Dixie was soo excited that she ran outside and started to cartwheels and cheerleading kicks. Mike just looked after her, wide-eyes.
"You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into." Jana said and walked out of the door, Billie and Tre following her. Mike stepped out and went over to Dixie. Billie led them all back to the tour bus.
"Well, here it is, all in it's own beauty!" Tre laughed and he opened the door.
"Ladies first." He said and motioned for Dixie and Jana to go in.
"Well then, Tre, go right on in!" Billie said and laughed. Mike laughed, too, and Tre breifly glared at Billie, then turned in to the tour bus after the girls. Jana sat down on one of the bunks and Tre sat beside her. Dixie sat on the opposite bunk, looking at the posters on the wall. Mike came in next, then Billie. Billie sat on the other saide of Jana, whil Mike sat by Dixie.
"Things are gonna get ugly." Mike whispered to Dixie. she looked back at him with her wide, blue, innocnet eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"Look at them. fighting over Jana like two puppies would fight for a bone." At this Dixie laughed, but she saw Mike was right. Tre was glaring over Jana while she was bent down. Billie looked breifly at Tre, then down at Jana. She pulled out a large shoebox and dusted it off.
"What's in here?" she wondered aloud.
"Err, nothing!" Tre said and snatched the box away before Jana had time to pull the lid off. Jana just shot Tre a questioningly look, and noticed that Dixie had crossed her legs over Mike's lap and the two were enjoying the slight entertainment.
"Anyone want to go to the mall?" Jana asked. She saw Dixie bob her head eagerly, Billie nodded slightly, and Tre shrugged. Mike looked like he really didn't care. "Well, let's go." She stood,a nd Billie stepped quickly beside her.
"You can ride in my car." He asked quickly. She smiled and said,
"Sure." Tre just cast a dirty look in Billie's direction. Billie smiled smugly. Jana walked over to Billie's car and he opened the door for her. She smiled and got into the passenger seat. Dixie sat in Mike's small convertible and reclined back.
"You have very comfortable stuff." She said and laughed. Mike smiled and kissed her.
*Billie's car*
Jana buckled in, and Billie started the car. "Jana," Billie started. "Do you like me or something?" Jana was caught by surprise.
"Wha..wh...who told you?" Jana asked.
"No one told me, I just assumed that you did. The way I caught you watching me, Dixie almost letting something slip..." He looked into her eyes. "It was sorta obvious." He smiled slyly.
"Yes." Jana looked out the window. "I like you." She added softly. Billie hooked Janas chin in his finger and kissed her softly.
*Mike's Car*
Dixie had cranked up the music and let her hair flow out in the wind behind her. Mike pulled into the parking lot of the mall and began to put up the hood. Dixie opened the door and stepped out, the couple a dazzling sight.
*Tre's POV/Tre's Car*
How the hell...Billie isn'tthat good looking. I thought as I pulled into the parking lot. I saw Mike and Dixie waiting for everyone else to get there. Dixie smiled and waved when she saw me. At least Jana didn't totally reject me, like my last girlfriend.
*No One's POV*
Jana stepped out of Billie's car and smiled at Billie. He slipped his arm around her waist. "So the awaited couple has finally formed?" Mike asked. Dixie laughed. then they saw Tre approach.
"Hey guys..." He said and loked at the mall. "Should we go in?" Jana and Dixie shared a confused look. Dixie mouthed, 'I'll tell you later'. Jana nodded and entered the mall.
"Is she like this before she has coffee?" Billie asked. Jana looked over at Billie and laughed.
