Billie and Amanda, chapter 5
I pulled up to a crowded parking lot in front of a huge building where the concert would be held. I pulled the keys out of the ignition and ran out, slamming the door.
"Hurry up, Kaely!" I yelled.
"Damn, slow down. What's your rush anyway girl?" Kaely said back with her arms crossed.
"I-uh-uh... Just wanna get a good seat is all," I saved myself.
"Come'on!" I yelled pulling Kaely by the arm through the huge crowd, before she had a chance to respond.
***
Inside it was more packed then outside. Kaely and I quickly found our seats, and waited for the band to come out.
"What time is it Kae-," I began but was cut off by a huge scream from the crowd. I turned around to see the band running out.
"WWWOOOOOO!" I cheered, Kaely joining me. Then I met his eyes. It was-him.

*Billie's POV*
Meanwhile backstage...
"Tre what the fuck are you doing man?" I asked laughing at him. He was running around in circles, flapping his arms like bird.
"WOOO!" he screamed.
"I'm warming up dammit!" he added, making a stupid face. I turned my attention to Mike.
"Ready to rock n' roll?" I asked him.
"Never been more ready!" Mike said. I, however, had been. I couldn't stop thinking about Amanda. Everything about her... Her eyes, her voice, her body, her kiss... I had to see her again... I just-had to.
"OW!" I screamed, interrupting my thoughts.
"What the fuck man?" I yelled again at Tre. He had poked me in the ribs with his drumstick.
"Let's go man! You remember we have a show to do?" he said in a know-it-all voice.
"Fuck, I know. Let's do this!" I added, screaming. In a single file line we entered the stage, jogging around in circles. Then we began playing the beginning chords to At the Library.
Then it happened- I forgot everything. I stopped playing for a few counts and even didn't sing. I was too busy staring into her eyes. HER. Amanda. I grinned at her. Then I remembered I was on stage and began singing-"Hey there looking at me... "

*Nobodies POV*
Billie and Amanda just stared into each others eyes. Billie was grinning madly and Amanda was screaming her head off.
"I LOVE YOU, BILLIE JOE!" she found herself screaming. The song ended.
"I love you too, Amanda," he said quietly into the microphone. Kaely looked over at Amanda as the boys ran off the stage for the intermission.
"What the fuck was that about?" she was lost for words. "I-holy shit, Amanda, is this the guy you met after our gig?" she was able to choke out, her eyes wide open.
"Come here," Amanda said pulling her out of the crow into the chilly night. Amanda explained everything. She felt bad that she didn't tell Kaely sooner.
"And that's how I met him," Amanda finished.
"Holy crap," Kaely said, still wide-eyed. Then she said," There's something I gotta tell you too... Since we're being all honest and everything... " she began. "I broke up with Chris today!" she spilled and broke down crying. "I ran into him-and he-he was- making out with another girl," she said between sobs.
"Oh my god, that fucking asshole! Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I asked, giving her a hug. She just shrugged.
"I can't compare my life with the things you've had to go through... " Kaely trailed off. I just looked at her and sighed.
" Listen to me, when Cassie died I blamed myself, but after almost 8 years I've learned that it was an accident," Amanda said, the memory of her dead sister bringing back tears to her eyes. Together they hugged and cried for another ten minutes and slowly they got up, found the bathroom, fixed their smeared make-up and got back into their seats in time for the concert to resume.
"Oh yeah," Kaely screamed over the crowd, as the band entered again," I forgot to tell you, I got us back stage passes!"
Amanda hugged Kaely as the band ran back onstage. For the rest of the concert Billie Joe didn't take his eyes off Amanda, and Amanda didn't take her eyes of Billie Joe.
***
"COME ON! HURRY UP!" Amanda screamed at Kaely.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" Kaely said over the crowd. Together they ran backstage. The concert had been awesome. Finally they got backstage, showed their passes to the guard, and ran in.
Amanda saw Billie and ran toward him, tackling him. They ended up on the floor, Billie on top of Amanda, and they both leaned in and began to kiss. It seemed an eternity, that they were on the floor until they noticed 4 pairs of eyes on them.
"Ahem," Mike cleared his throat. "You gonna get up and introduce us to her or-"
"Erm, sorry," Billie said. Billie and Amanda both blushed.
"Uh, Amanda this is Mike and Tre, my band mates. And this is Danica, Mike's girlfriend." Billie said.
"Hi!" they all said, friendly.
"Hey guys!" Amanda said. "Oh," she saw Kaely standing by herself," this is my best friend and bass player of our band, Kaely."
"Hi," Kaely smiled shyly.
"You're hot," Tre said loudly. Kaely looked up and giggled.
"May I buy you a drink, mademoiselle?" Tre got down on one knee.
"Sure!" Kaely said, and Tre picked her up and she screamed, happily. Amanda could tell that Tre would make her feel better.
"Well, we're off," Mike said, and walked off with his girlfriend. It was silent for a while backstage. Then Billie took a step toward Amanda and wrapped his arms around her.
"I missed you," he said.
"No, I think I missed you more," Amanda said looking into his eyes. She was lost again.
"You know, you look really hot," Billie said, blushing.
"Thanks," Amanda said. Billie put his hands into the back pockets of her jeans, pulled her in, and together they began a short make-out session.
***
Amanda looked out the window of Billie's car. He was taking her somewhere but didn't tell her where. She had given her keys to Kaely and told her drive her car to her house and Amanda would pick up the car tomorrow. Right now all she wanted to do was spend time with Billie.
"Tell me," Amanda commanded.
"No way, never, I'm not telling," Billie answered back, stopping at a red light. Amanda leaned over and kissed him.
"Will you tell me now?" she asked, pouting.
"Aw, you gotta do better than that," Billie said back looking straight into her eyes. Amanda touched his cheek and kissed him harder. They were inturrepted by a loud HONK! Apparently the light had turned green. Amanda pulled away.
"No come'on don't stop... " Billie said.
"Billie, you gotta drive the car!" Amanda said.
"Ah fuck, I don't wanna," he began to pout but kept driving." All I can say is that you'll love where I'm taking you to." Amanda didn't ask any more questions. He was almost as stubborn as Kaely. Almost.
***
Billie pulled up behind a giant warehouse. He got out of the car, opened the door for Amanda, took her hand, and together they walked up a giant hill. When they got to the top, all Amanda had to do was look down.
"Holy shit, Billie," she stuttered," it's-oh my god-it's beautiful," Amanda didn't know what to say. She was looking down at a huge lake. There were flowers everywhere. Amanda looked closely and saw a small waterfall.
"Come here," Billie told her. She followed him to a huge tree. Billie pulled out his keys and carved "Billie + Amanda" in a heart. She kissed him softly after he did this.
"God, Billie how'd you know about this place?" she asked," it's like hidden from view!"
Billie sadly looked at her and said," My dad." Amanda took his hand. It was silent for a while.
"You know," Billie continued," he taught me to play guitar up here, in this exact spot."
"Really?" she said. Billie nodded.
"Where is he now?" Amanda asked innocently. She looked over at Billie. He was crying. Had she said something?
"He's dead. Cancer." was all Billie could choke out.
"I'm so sorry Billie, I-I didn't know," Amanda said.
"Died when I was ten. He left me-" Billie continued, but couldn't any longer. He tore away from Amanda, running away.
Amanda followed him. Damn, the boy could run. All her varsity basketball training could never prepare her for something like this. Finally she saw Billie collapse in the grass. She ran next to him and hugged him. He began crying into her shoulder.
"Billie, I'm so sorry, but-but I know exactly how you feel." Amanda was beginning to cry as well.
"No... No... No you don't, no one does," Billie said getting up, but Amanda wouldn't let him. She pulled him down and made him sit. She was pretty strong.
"Listen, listen to me," she began. Billie turned his head away but Amanda took it in her hands and turned it toward her. They were both looking into each other's red, swollen eyes.
"When I was ten," Amanda began," God, this is hard," she said, but took a deep breath and continued anyway.
"When I was ten, I took my little sister, Cassie, to the pool. It was a hot summer day and my mom said she would be coming, but told me to watch her, just for five minutes, until she came. Anyways we splashed around for a while and I went out really fast to go to the bathroom. When I was in the bathroom I heard a scream, a piercing scream, but I thought she was just-" she broke off.
"Anyway I came out, and I couldn't see her. I thought she was just fooling around. So I dove in the pool, and I couldn't see her. I finally found her underwater, trapped and I-I pulled her out and... " Amanda trailed off.
"They pronounced her dead after an hour.... I held her hand all the way to the hospital... She was so young... Only seven... I still blame myself... " Amanda was really crying now and looked deep into Billie's eyes to see he was crying too. Together they hugged each other and cried.
"I'm sorry... I feel like such an asshole... " Billie said.
"Billie, I love you," Amanda said.
"I love you too babe, more than you'll ever know," Billie whispered into her ear.
***
They pulled up in front of Billie's house. Amanda had agreed to stay there-for tonight. They got out of the car and walked into his house.
"Come here," Billie said. Amanda walked over to him. He picked her up and carried her upstairs into his room. He set her down carefully on his bed. Then, Billie walked over to his closet.
"Here you go," Billie said pulling out a t-shirt and shorts.
"Thanks," Amanda said gratefully.
"I'll go change," she said, walking to the bathroom.
"I don't mind, you could change here!" Billie called out. Amanda just smiled.
***
Amanda lay down on his bed, under the covers. Billie walked in.
"I-uh-was gunna sleep downstairs but-uh-I'm worried about you, you don't mind right?" he said. He sat down next to the bed and leaned his head on Amanda's leg. Amanda sat up.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Uh-sleeping," Billie said.
"Um, no you're not," she said," get your ass up here." Billie blushed. He got in the bed with her and they cuddled together. Things had been pretty quiet since Amanda told him about Cassie.
"I'm sorry," she said," I've never told anyone else-"
"Don't be," Billie said to her.
"You're perfect, and that's just the way I like you," Billie said, smiling.
They feel asleep cuddled together, the moonlight shining on their faces.
"Hurry up, Kaely!" I yelled.
"Damn, slow down. What's your rush anyway girl?" Kaely said back with her arms crossed.
"I-uh-uh... Just wanna get a good seat is all," I saved myself.
