Green Day?... Or Adrienne?, chapter 11

Clink. Clink. Clink.

Three forks hit the artificial wood surface of the table.

Billie Joe cleared his throat, wetting dry lips before turning green eyes upon his wife.

"Us?" Billie Joe asked hoarsely, his eyes full of question.

"Us," Adrienne said, just as softly.

"I meant..," she was cut off by Billie Joe's voice.

"I'mma gonna be a father! Again!" he yelled, throwing his chair back from the table.

Jumping from his toppled seat, he embraced his dreadlocked wife, nearly knocking her out of her chair as well.

"Billie.. Joe," Adrienne laughed, wrapping her arms around Billie Joe's left one, resting her right temple against it.

"This is great man. Oh my God. I gotta tell the world," Billie Joe rambled, nuzzling his nose into Adrienne's dreadlocks.

"I think you already did," Mike chimed in amusedly. "I'mma gonna be a father! Again!" he yelled, over exaggeratedly, throwing himself out of his chair and lying spread eagle on the floor. "Oh, Adrienne, Adi! The process was great," he moaned, standing and throwing himself onto Tre, causing both men to topple onto the floor.

Adrienne's nose wrinkled in a mixture of horror and amusement as she watched the sight.

"Guys, you're all wrong. It was a threesome," Billie Joe grinned devilishly, tossing himself onto his two best friends and bandmates.

"Oh my God," Adrienne laughed.

She watched her husband thrash around on the floor with Mike and Tre, and felt herself falling in love with him all over again. That was the man that she'd met nearly sixteen years ago. A part of him had dissapeared over the years, but the young boy he was at heart still shined through occasionally.

And it was those moments she loved. It took her back to a time and place when she was a young woman, only just entering adulthood. She'd met the man of her dreams, and fallen madly in love with him. He was young and attractive as well, but as she admired him now, she realized that he was only improving with age.

And she was more than greatful to call him her own. And carrying his third child? She must've been God's favorite child.

"Daddy," Adrienne spoke finally, in a baby voice. She grinned down at Billie Joe, who sent her back a sloppy, lop-sided smile.

"Mommy," he baby-talked back, crawling over to her.

Once at his wife's side, he lifted his head to her stomach, gently resting his cheek against it.

Adrienne wet her lips, reaching her right hand down to gently run it through Billie Joe's mess of black hair. She sighed contently, feeling his hand run over her stomach.

"Hmmm. You're gonna look like a beach whale again," Billie Joe teased, standing up and sitting on Adrienne's lap. He knew his wife all too well. After that comment, she'd stand and walk away. But this way, she was pinned down.

"Asshole," Adrienne chastised, shoving Billie Joe off of her lap. She gently nudged him with the leather toe of her black combat boot, giggling aloud at his shocked expression.

It was days like these that she treasured.
