Ha ha, you're dead!, chapter 15
"If there is a god, he's been very cruel to me. My teen years was shit. I lost all my friends, I ran away from home and haven't seen mum since, and I got a baby girl when I was only 16 and alone. Luckily I met this guy. His name was Conrad. He was son of a very wealthy family. He offered to take me and my daughter, Loren, and give us food and a place to stay, until I could get back on my feet. He was very nice to me, and not snobby at all, like I thought rich people were. And not shallow, cause he liked me for me. We got married when I was 18 and he was 20. I loved him with all my heart, and I still do! He's been a good dad to Loren, and I think that finally, after all this years, as I'm 33(and a half) I'm finally getting back on my feet!

I looked down on the cover of the book. It was red, with a picture of me looking serious. I giggled to myself and lay the book down next to my computer. I'd written a book called "Make-ups and break-ups" that was selling like crazy! If it was because I mentioned that my childhood boyfriend and best friend was Billie Joe Armstrong, or if it was good, I wasn't sure of, but I didn't mind. I was just happy that my inferno was finally coming to an end! Oh, Billie. Yeah, he, Mike and Tre succeeded. They became a great punk-rock band! Green Day was a major hit. Amongst everybody now that they had given out American Idiot. Yeah, he was still with Adrienne, they even had two kids! They were luckily married, and that stung a bit, I guess.
"Mum! Your press conference is starting in a minute! Are you ready?" Loren said and I nodded. She gave me a hug and walked me out. She was a grown women now with her 18 years. She had long brown hair and her fathers, green eyes. I sighed to myself. I really did miss Billie, but it was for the best this way.
Loren knew who her father was, but she knew I didn't like talking about him. But still she was a very big Green Day fan. I didn't like it, but I wasn't going to deny her to listen to them. They did have very good music.
I walked into the conference room and sat down in a chair. I looked out into an ocean of curious faces.
"Maria, is this story really true? Did all of this truly happen?" a young women said. She was probably very new to this, it looked like it.
"Yes it is!" I answered plainly and looked down as all of the painful memories flooded back. After some seconds I looked out into the ocean of faces again with a smile. That's when I spotted this one guy in the very back. He had a hat on and a pair of sunglasses. He wore a black jacket and a pair of ripped jeans. Slowly he stood up and looked directly at me.
"Oh my god! Billie wait!" I said and ran as fast as my feet could carry me over to where he was standing. I could feel all the blitzes from the journalists cameras, this was a big sensation for the media. Maria and Billie united again??
I looked at him and my eyes filled with tears of joy. I can't explain how happy I felt, just to see him!
"Let's get out of here, and go talk somewhere private!" he said and smiled at me. I giggled and ran outside with him. I gave him a hug!
"I've missed you Billie!" I sobbed.
"Why did you run away?" he asked and pushed me away. He wasn't mad.
"Because you wouldn't listen to me, you thought I was so jealous of Adie that I would make up a story about me being pregnant. Don't you think that hurts a bit??" I said and looked at Billie.
"Yeah, well.....I was stupid! You didn't need to run away!" he said and lay an arm around my shoulders.
"At least now I know you weren't lying. I'm sorry Maria!"
I smiled to myself. I liked this. I wanted Billie back as a friend more than anything in the whole world.
"I see you're married!" he said and looked at me.
"Yes, Conrad's been a really good replacement dad for Loren........"
Billie nodded and lit a cigarette and offered me one. I accepted it.
"What happened with the whole Jim thing?" I asked. I'd been wondering about this for all these years.
"Since you ran away, everybody was looking for you, and forgot about me and Jim for a while. But I just had to apologize to him! And then I wrote Ha, ha you're dead later as a revenge sort of, but nobody knew though!" he said and smiled. I giggled.
"So you wanna see the other guys??" Billie asked and dragged me towards a house near by!
"I'm not sure Billie, what if they hate me....especially Adie!!"
"Don't worry, they won't bite you!" Billie said and opened the door and walked in.
"Hey guys, look what I picked up on the way here!" Billie said and I walked in the room. Mike's mouth dropped. Tre smiled and Adie looked very surprised. They all gasped and Mike stuttered out: "Ma....ma...Maria??"
"Hey, did you guys miss me?" I said and laughed as I was attacked with a huge hug by Mike. I landed on the floor and laughed like everything was back to normal. Like it had always been like this.
