When we got to the beach, Tre, Billie and I unloaded the boards. Zil and Annie went down to the food shack. Once they were out of sight, Tre nudged me with the end of his board.
"What did you do now?" he asked scolding. I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, Zil's been giving you the cold shoulder." Advised Billie.
"Is it that obvious?" I wined. I was really not in the mood for this.
"Like the shack was on fiy-ar!" Tre exaggerated.
"Lovely. So, we gonna surf first?" I asked changing the subject.
"Of course my lovely horse." Tre said batting his eyelashes at me.
"Tre. Stop."
"Let's find a spot, then go get the girls." Billie told us picking up his board and his bag.
"Girls? What girls?" Tre asked stupidly. I whacked him on the back of his head.
"OW! Billie! Mike hit me!" he wined like a five year old.
"Aw, Mikey, be nice!" he told me.
"Yeah, be nice my ass." I muttered as I picked up my board and followed them.

"Lyne... " Zil called as she entered the shack. It was kind of like a surf shack half restaurant half gift shop place open to the ocean.
"Zilly!" a girl her age with long dark brown hair in a pony tail, in a bathing suit and beach shorts popped out from behind a display. They hugged each other.
"I haven't seen you in so long! You gotta tell the guys to bring down here more often!" Lynetta told Zil.
"Yeah, well you know them, the band and everything... oh and I have Annie with me."
"Anastasia?"
"Present." Annie turned up behind Zil.
"Hey, you know Zil? When did this happen?" Lyne said hugging Annie.
"Well, let's just say that... Mike caught her eye at school, enough said." Zil explained.
"Oh... " Lyne said with a grin on her face, "He always goes for the pretty ones, doesn't he?" She went playing with Annie's curly hair. Annie slightly blushed.
"Oh don't worry, he's a nice guy, right Lyne?"
"The sweetest little thing." Lyne said in a cute voice.
"Uh, where's... you-know-who?" Zil whispered to Lyne.
"Oh, she's out for the moment, you got lucky." Lyne said.
"She's not going to happy about this." Annie warned.
"Unfortunately. She needs to lighten up." Groaned Lyne. Suddenly a girly scream was heard. Tre ran into the shack and hid behind Zil.
"Tre? What the fuck?" Zil yelled trying to get him from under her.
"Hide me!" he pleaded.
"What did you do now, Tre?" Lyne teased him.
"I pulled down Billie and Mike's Trunks."
Lyne and Annie burst into laughter while Zil just rolled her eyes.
"Is there anything you won't do, cool?"
"Nope."
Mike and Billie Ran into the shack and while Tre tired to make a run for it, they tackled him and all three were wrestling on the wooden floor.
"HELP! HEL-" Billie stuffed a flip flop from god knows where into Tre's mouth, while Mike tried to punch him in the gut. But before things could get any uglier, Clydette showed up. Dundundun dun... .
"Break it up already!" Another girl came in. She looked like Lynetta except her hair was shorter and lighter and she had dark eyes. She was also much taller, for Zil was only 5'4. A puka necklace was wrapped around her neck.
"Get of the floor! What are you? Rats? Oh yeah, I forgot... " She sneered harshly as she stepped over them to the register. The guys froze in action at the sound of her voice. Tre still had the flip-flop in his mouth; Billie had his hands on Tre's neck about to suffocate him and Mike had pinned Tre down, about to him a good punch in the gut, his fist half way there. They just glared at Clydette. Tre spit out the pink flip-flop.
"Oh yeah? Well guess what! If we wanna beat the shit out of each other on the floor we will!" he yelled through Billie's hands on his throat.
"Yeah!" Mike yelled with him.
"We would?" Billie whispered. Tre gave him an elbow.
"Y-yeah! We will! And you can't stop us!" Billie said aloud. Clydette just smiled to herself.
"Oh, you three are just pathetic," she said as she checked the register, "I can't believe people would like you or your so called 'music'." She closed the register with a loud clasp. She then saw Annie in the back. Like nothing the glare went away and a smile flashed across her face.
"Annie? What are doing here?" she walked out from behind the counter and hugged her. Annie felt very uncomfortable. She could almost feel the Green and Blue eyes sizzling into her friend's back from the glaring stares of her new friends. She knew it wasn't going to be easy. It was worse than she thought.
"Oh just here with some... new friends." She said uneasily once she let go.
"Really? See, I told you you'd find some friends. Where are they? I want to meet them." She said excitedly. It hurt Annie. But it wasn't worth it to have a friend so prejudice.
"Uh, okay... ." She mentioned behind Clydette as she 'reintroduced'.
"That's Tre, the one about to be... strangled, uh, Billie Joe, the one about to strangle Tre, Mike, the one about to punch Tre, and over there is Zilpha." She said kind of quickly. All of them grinned at her as their names where called. The resenting look on Clydette's face was priceless. To Annie, it was only the beginning.
"These... . are your new friends?" She asked, uncertain.
"Yeah. Actually they're friends of Mike's, he invited me to come." She explained.
"Oh, he invited you... " Clydette said slowly as she turned back to Mike. Mike felt very intimidated. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea... he though as she glared at him in such a way that made him nervous. Clydette suddenly grasped Annie be shoulders and walked her away from the group. The talk wasn't going to be nice.

Tre, Mike, Billie, Zil and Lyne's POV

There she goes...

Zil's POV

I was hoping that Annie could take of it herself, although I wouldn't have minded giving Clydette a piece of my mind as well, as if I hadn't before. I let out a sigh and walked out of the shack down the steps and landed in the cool sand below my feet. I saw some movement. I stared down at it for a second. I hunched down and crawled my way over to a sand dune. I pounced like a cat a few feet ahead of me my hands stretched out. I opened my palms. Inside a small green lizard flinched around in circles. I tilled my head at it as I stared in observation. I'm not gonna hurt you, don't panic so much... I slowly stood up with the small green lizard clasped in my palms. I walked over next to where the guys placed their boards and sta down and observed the green lizard crawl over my hands flinching at me with equal curiosity. I thought a little charm wouldn't hurt.

Green lizard
Full of life
A little gift of love and delight
Grand a good spell
Just for a day
Let him have love
He looks so lonely
For it breaks one's heart
Just for a day
Till the new day

I turned around and released the green lizard into the sand. I watched him hobble back towards the dunes by the shack. So Lonely indeed.
