Part Two, chapter 4
I sit around and watch the tube but nothing's on
Billie heard a knock at his door and rushed to answer.
He pulled her in and started kissing her before she was able to even say hello. "Wow nice greeting." She giggled and tried catching her breath.
"Thanks. I missed you." Billie didn't let her go but moved with her to the couch and made her lay down above him.
"I was only gone for two days to be with my brother. Now that my brother is gone again you can do whatever you want with me." She was playing with the buttons of his shirt and was giving him soft kisses on his chest as he was just smiling, admiring her.
"I brought something we can watch. Have you ever considered seeing Gone with the Wind?"
"No!" he shouted and sat up, looking horrified. "This movie is so fucking long! I'll fall asleep after the first five minutes." He whined, taking her DVD and putting it on the table, not wanting to discuss about it anymore.
"Okay fine. But we're watching it tomorrow." Violet compromised and grabbed him by his shirt, placing him to his previous position.
"You know I really missed you these two days." Billie admitted, putting his hands underneath her blouse and touching the soft skin of her back.
"I know me too. It's strange isn't it? Not being able to stand being apart?" she wondered.
"I don't know. But I wanted to come to your house and steal you all the time. I was so bored without you."
"Yeah it was pretty obvious since you were calling me three times every hour."
"Sorry about that." He apologized laughing with himself.
"Love means never having to say you're sorry you chump. Have I taught you nothing?" They stood silent for a while, smiling at each other.
"You know I just realized... " Billie started, giving her a peck on her lips. "Since we both hate it when we're apart... Why don't we... Live together?"
"As in permanently?"
"Yeah. You know it would be great. You could come and study here and I could be waiting for you and we both could be making each other dinners and stuff..."
Violet had put her hands all over her face probably because she didn't want him to see her blushing.
He found it amusing and started tickling her, making her shout. "Okay, okay I'll live with you!" she yelled, trying to hold him back
"Really?"
"Yeah. On conditions of course."
"Such as?"
"You are going to watch Gone with the Wind with me before I move in."
Billie pretended to be thinking it over.
"Fine." He said shrugging his shoulders.
"When we have a fight you're the one who's sleeping on the couch."
"Hey!" he protested but was cut off by Violet's lips on his. "Okay have it your way cruel bitch." He joked.
"And finally... Three times a week the minimum." She told him kissing his neck.
"What do you mean three times a week?"
"Ironing of course. You think I'm going to act like the good wife and iron your clothes? No sir. You do it by yourself."
She's an extraordinary girl in an ordinary world
"Okay let's fucking try this again I made a mistake" Billie suggested to his band mates and without losing any more time, he started playing the cords to one of his new songs.
Tre and Mike soon joined in. He approached the microphone and begun singing the words, hearing their sound and knowing that now it was better than before.
"SHIIIIT!" he screamed and let his guitar down leaving the other two confused. "What?" Tre asked, still holding his drumsticks just inches away from his drums and waiting for Billie to say it was alright to carry on. "What time is it?" Billie looked at Mike's watch.
"Fuck I got to call Vi. She'll be home by now." He rushed to where he had left his jacket to take his cell phone from his pocket and ignored his friends' fed up faces. "Hey baby. How are you?"
"I'm fine. How are you?" Violet was sounding cheerful so he immediately became happier too.
"I'm great. You know, band practice."
"Give Mike and Tre a kiss for me."
"Yeah we'll see about that. Did you learn anything new at school today?"
He could hear her laughing from the other line. "Billie you're acting like my dad again." She told him as sweetly as she could.
"Okay, okay I'm sorry." He grinned and then shot Tre a killer look as the latter was pretending to be throwing up.
"What time will you be back? I want to have dinner prepared." Asked Violet.
"You don't have to make anything we'll eat take-out."
"But I want to! I'll finish my homework and then I'll cook you something you like. But tomorrow you have some washing up to do as I'll be gone for most of the day. But when I get back we'll watch Rock 'n' Roll Circus and then, we'll go out and do something fun."
Billie couldn't help but laugh with the way she had everything planned. Sometimes when he wanted to tease her he would start questioning her about her future and she would tell him about everything she wanted to do with every little detail.
"Listen I have an interview after this so I may be a little late. And Mike also wants to have some drinks tonight so my suggestion is that Mike could come over and hang out with you so you won't be lonely and when I'm done with the interview you could meet me at a new restaurant that's open close to us." There was silence for a moment or two, and Violet finally agreed.
"Okay bye. Love you." Billie hung up and finally was able to focus on his music.
He had taken her in his arms and let her cry on his chest.
He didn't try to stand her up even though they were both sitting on the bathroom floor of some restaurant they hadn't visited before and anyone could walk in, including the person she was so mad at.
"You are right." She breathed. "I don't want to talk to her. I don't want to even look at her. I hate her so much. Get me out of here. Please." Billie just nodded and helped her stand on her feet.
"We'll just leave and forget about it ok?" He whispered.
Mike was waiting for them at the table but when he realized they were leaving he got up and followed them to the exit. It was all going fine until a female voice stopped them.
Billie wanted to pull Violet out before her mother could get to her but seeing that his girlfriend was ready to explode he decided to let her react the way she wanted.
"Violet?" the woman asked with shaky voice. "Is that you? Are you my daughter?" the woman tried to touch Violet's face but she quickly pulled away disgusted and furious.
"I am not your daughter. Someone who just spends some hours at a hospital delivering a baby can not be considered as a parent if that's all she does." She said still managing to keep her voice to a reasonable volume. "Now get away from me."
She touched Billie's hand and moved further to the door. But her mother wanted her back so she called after her.
"Leave me alone!" Violet screamed now. "You abandon me, leave my father wondering where the fuck you went and after 15 years you want me to sit down and talk to you? Fuck you!" she didn't even wait for Billie this time. She started running and Billie just went after her as he always did.
"I love you so much." Violet exhaled on his chest and rested her head there having her hands wrapped around him. She wasn't the type of girl who would show her emotions towards others all the time so whenever this happened Billie was glad.
"I love you too." Billie whispered and kissed her smooth hair. This had turned out to be a really rough day for both of them. But now it all seemed like a blurry nightmare. Since they were lying on the bed, after making love, curled up to each other, it was like nothing could go wrong.
Billie heard a knock at his door and rushed to answer.
