Billie Joe, How Could You?!? (continued), chapter 2

March 23, 1992
Cassie felt the warm morning sun on her face. She immediately covered her head with the blankets. She had had a wild night the day before and was going to be suffering from it later. She didn't even remember where she was or how she got in bed, but that didn't matter to her. She heard someone's soft periodic breathing next to her. She uncovered her head and looked over. There, laying next to her, was a naked Billie Joe. She smiled and then kissed his cheek. As she was about ready to get out of bed Billie grasped her wrist and pulled her on top of him. His eyes finally opened and he flashed her a smile.

"This is the best way to wake up in the morning," he whispered before planting a kiss on her soft, moist lips. Her lips curled into a smile against his. They pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes. Some of Cassie's long blonde hair fell over her shoulders and brushed against Billie's nose. He crinkled his nose since her hair tickled it. Cassie giggled as she pushed her hair back over her shoulder. She rolled off of him and then got up. She rushed into the bathroom that was across the hall to take a shower. Billie sat up in bed. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and then stared at the bathroom door.

"Fuck it," he whispered as he got up and ran across the hall into the bathroom. He stopped in front of the shower and stared as the water cascaded over Cassie's body. He smirked and opened the shower door. She jumped a bit when the door opened because a blast of cold air filled the shower stall. She turned to face Billie and smirked. She moved to the back of the stall so there was more room for the both of them. Billie joined her and as soon as he did, he started heavily kissing her neck. She let out a small moan of pleasure. Billie's lips curled into a smile against her skin once he heard her agreement. He started to kiss her neck again and then moved up to her jaw bone, and then finally to her lips.

"Now....this....is....the....best....way....to....wake....up," Cassie said in between kisses. Billie's reply was a soft moan. She pulled away leaving him a little disappointed and wanting more. He knew she was taunting him.

"I got in this shower for a reason, and it wasn't to have hot wet monkey sex," she said with a small smirk.

"Please. For me?" Billie asked, almost pleadingly.

"Nope. I smell like booze and joints."

"Please," Billie pleaded again. Cassie just shook her head and pushed him back a little so she could have more room. She started to wash her hair again. Billie sighed and stepped out of the shower. He had an idea of how to get her out of the shower. He slowly crept over to the toilet and pressed down on the handle. The rhythmic sound of the toilet flushing filled the room followed by a screech from Cassie. She quickly got out of the shower.

"You little fucker! That burnt!" she screamed at Billie.

"I'm sorry," he whispered as he walked over to her. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around both of them. He held her close and kissed the top of her forehead only to taste shampoo. He crinkled his nose in disgust and licked his lips. Cassie looked up at him and giggled. She wriggled out of his grip and walked back into the shower. She started to rinse out her hair. Billie sighed and wrapped himself up in the towel. He walked back into his room and sat on the bed. He looked around the room, trying to remember the night before. He knew it must of been wild since there were empty beer bottles, cigarette butts, his and Cassie's clothes on the floor. He sighed and went over to his closet. He slipped on a pair of jeans and an Operation Ivy t-shirt. He walked out of his room just as Cassie was walking out of the shower. She was just wrapped in a towel and was wet. He stared at her, trying to prevent himself from having a boner, but failed miserably. He followed Cassie back into his room and watched her get dressed. She dressed slowly just to make him suffer. Every time she put an article of clothing on she would steal a glance at him and smirk. She could tell she had succeeded in making him suffer.

"You're mean," he pouted.

"I know, but you love me still," Cassie said once she was fully dressed. She walked out the door and was soon followed by Billie. As they started their way downstairs she began to think, ' He forgot it was my birthday didn't he,' She sighed and started to walk down the stairs. She got on the landing and started to walk towards the living room. As soon as she did about five people jumped out and yelled 'Surprise,' as balloons and streamers fell from the ceiling.

"Happy birthday Babe," Billie whispered in Cassie's ear before kissing the back of her neck.

"Who planned all this?" Cassie asked.

"Me and the guys did all this last night while you were getting smashed with Aralynn." Billie said with a chuckle as he walked over to Mike and Tre.

"Shuddup," Aralynn said with a groan. From the looks of it she had had an even more wild night than Cassie. Jeff walked over to his wife and wrapped his arms around her. (yes Jeff and Aralynn are married now. A few years after Cassie had rejected Daniel he couldn't live with himself for giving up Cassie so he killed himself) Some one was heard in the kitchen scurrying about. Ollie soon appeared in the living room with a cake. It read 'Happy Birthday Cassie' in black and red, with red and black roses on the corners, and with a number 19 candle. Cassie smiled as she looked at the cake.

"You guys didn't have to do this," she said looking up at everyone. Her eyes were soon met with the flash of a camera. She closed her eyes. Once she opened them all she could see were white dots every where.

"Tre, why do you have a camera?" she asked once she could see clearly again.

"I want to take pictures. Why?" he asked meekly. Cassie just shook her head and sighed.

"So what's planned for tonight?" she asked.

"First we're going to eat breakfast, then eat cake, open presents, go to Gilman and party, then come home and party some more, and then we're goign out to eat" Billie said.

"What's for breakfast?" Tre asked.

"Waffles, since Billie told me they were Cassie's favorite and it is her special day," Ollie said with a smile.

"You guys are so sweet. Thank you," Cassie said as she walked into the kitchen. She was followed by all her friends. They all sat at the table as Ollie began serving the waffles.

* * *
"That was good. Ollie did you make these?" Cassie asked once she finished her waffles. Ollie nodded.

"Well I'm eating your breakfast more often. You're a good cook."

"Thank you dear," Ollie said with a smile. Cassie smiled back

"Cake time!" Tre shouted as he brought in the cake. Billie got up and went to grab a lighter. Tre set the cake down on the table and waited for Billie to light the candles. Once the candles were lit Mike came into the kitchen with his bass, Blue, and another guitar for Tre. The all took their instruments and started to sing happy birthday in a punk rock version. After the song was over Cassie blew out her candles. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to find Billie standing behind her.

"Happy nineteenth," Ollie said from behind her son. Cassie smiled as Tre began to serve the cake.

Everyone had gathered out in the living room for Cassie to open her gifts. Billie and the guys had went outside to the garage where they had hidden the gifts. About twenty minutes later there was a pile of about fifteen gifts. Most of them were from Billie, Mike, and Tre; but she had gotten a fair amount from Ollie, Aralynn and Jeff. Her parents had even sent her something from their new house in San Fransico. She began opening her gifts, starting with Billie's. Once she ripped off the decorative paper she stared in awe at what she was holding. In her arms was a copy of Blue. Instead of the initials BJ on the front, it said CA. Cassie thought the 'A' was for the first letter of her middle name, which is Ann, but to Billie the 'A' is the beginning of something different.

"Thanks Billie. I'll cherish this guitar like you cherish Blue," Cassie said with a tear in her eye. She couldn't believe that Billie would get a copy of Blue just for her. She placed the guitar down softly and picked up a gift from Tre. His gifts to her was two bags of Tortex guitar picks, a set of drumsticks, and a note that said go to the garage.

"What's with this note?" Cassie asked.

"Go to the garage, the biggest part of your gift from me is in there." Tre said. Cassie nodded as she got up. She walked towards the garage, followed by her friends. Once the garage door was opened there in front of her was a brand new drum set. Tre had taught Cassie how to play drums a few years before. Cassie walked into the garage and ran a finger over the cymbals. She pulled out two drumsticks and sat behind the set. She began to play the familiar drum parts from Dominated Love Slave. Tre heard this from in the other room. He grabbed a guitar and ran into join her. He started to sing the words as Mike and Billie came and joined in with their instruments.

I want to be your dominated love slave
I want to be the one that takes the pain
You can spank me when I do not behave
Smack me in the forehead with a chain

Cause I love feelin' dirty
And I love feelin' cheap
And I love it when you hurt me
So drive them staples deep

I want you to slap me and call me naughty
Put a beltsander against my skin
I want to feel pain all over my body
Can't wait to be punished for my sins.

Cause I love feelin' dirty
And I love feelin' cheap
And I love it when you hurt me
So drive them staples deep

Yee-hah!

Cause I love feelin' dirty
And I love feelin' cheap
And I love it when you hurt me
So drrrriiiveeee.....Staples?

The song was followed by cheering and laughter. Cassie stood up from the seat she was in and took a bow. Billie, Mike, and Tre did the same. They all walked back into the living room so Cassie could finish opening gifts. She grabbed a gift from Mike and opened it up. His gifts to her included a bass (since she knew how to play all those instruments), $100, a play station and a few games (that gift was mainly for the guys and Cassie knew it).

After an hour of opening gifts the group was getting ready to leave for Gilman. Cassie's gifts were everything from Great clips gift certificates from Aralynn to a drum set from Tre. Cassie ran upstairs and went to change into a tight pair of jeans and a black tank top. She redid her make up and put her hair up into a loose ponytail. Aralynn had joined her just to redo her make up. They both walked downstairs and then were off to the Gilman. Ollie had stayed home since she wasn't really the partying type. On their way to Gilman, Cassie spotted a tattoo parlor and made a 'b'-line for it.

"Wait, where are you going?" Billie asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to get another tattoo," Cassie said as she disappeared into the parlor. Billie sighed and followed her inside after he told his friends to head to Gilman with out them. When he got into the parlor Cassie was looking through a book of tattoos. She stopped flipping through the book and motioned for Billie to come over.

"What about this one?" she asked pointing at a black dagger with a black rose on it and black angel wings behind it.

"I like it," Billie said looking at the tattoo.

"Ah. That's a good one. It symbolizes death," the tattoo guy said.

"I'm going to get it," Cassie said. The man nodded and led Cassie back into a room. Billie sat down in a chair and waited. He knew a tattoo like that would take a while.

* * *
Cassie walked out of the backroom about two hours later. She walked over to Billie with a smug smile on her face.

"Where'd you get the tattoo?" he asked. Cassie turned around and lifted up her shirt and lowered her pants a bit. There was a bandage over the tattoo, which was on her lower back. Billie sighed. He hates where she gets her tattoos. She already had one on her upper chest and one on her lower stomach. The one on her lower stomach was a butterfly and the one on her chest was a black rose.

"Let's go to Gilman," Cassie said after she payed the guy. Billie nodded and they were off to meet up with the others.

* * *
"What tattoo did you get?" Mike asked once Billie and Cassie joined them at the bar.

"It's a dagger with a rose on it and angel wings behind it." Cassie told him.

"That's going to look cool. I can't wait to see it," Tre said. Cassie nodded her head and took a sip of her Pina Coloda. A good band came up onstage and caught the boy's attention. They stood up and went to join the mosh pit.

"What's up with them?" Aralynn asked.

"That's Operation Ivy. They're a really good band," Cassie informed.

"Not as good as Green Day though," Jeff said before taking a sip of his Corona Extra. Cassie nodded her head in agreement with what Jeff said. She wondered what Billie had in plan for her that afternoon. She sighed and stood up. She walked over and joined the boys in the mosh pit leaving Aralynn and Jeff alone. Cassie found the boys near the front of the crowd singing along with Operation Ivy. She walked up behind Billie and wrapped her arms around his stomach. He stopped singing and turned to face her.

"You scared me babe," he said over the music.

"Sorry baby," Cassie said leaning her head on his upper back. Billie grasped onto her hand and lifted it to his lips. He kissed it twice and turned around in her grip. He leaned in and kissed her cheek.

"Let's go back to the bar," he whispered. Cassie nodded as he began to lead her to the less crowded bar. He sat down on his bar stool and motioned for her to sit on his lap. She did as she was told and sat down.

"I love you," he whispered before kissing her neck.

"Aw, how sweet," Aralynn said.

"Shut up," Cassie said with a smile.

* * *
The group stayed at the Gilman for four hours then went back to Billie's house for more party time. Once they arrived they went straight for the garage. The boys grabbed their instruments and started to play songs from their new album Kerplunk.

"Yay a private concert," Aralynn said.

"Not for long," Cassie said as she opened the garage door so the whole neighborhood could hear. A few people started to gather around the garage. She then went over to a cooler and grabbed a few bud lights. She tossed some to Jeff, Aralynn, and some random people that at gatherd outside. She then lit up a joint and took a drag. Every once in a while she was take a sip of her beer. After Billie was finished singing a song he walked over to Cassie and took away her beer.

"Hey, give it back," she whined.

"Don't get smashed tonight. We're going out to eat soon at a fancy restaurant,"
he said before taking a small sip and throwing it out into the street.

"Why are we going some where fancy?" Tre asked.

"No reason," Billie said.

"Right...."

"If we're going some where nice then I got to go home and get something nice to wear," Cassie said as she stood up. She started to walk back to her house with Aralynn close behind. They walked into her house and up into her room. After a few minutes of searching through her closet, she settled on a black strapless dress. It had a ribbon around the waist and flared out at the bottom. The back was cut out of it. She slipped it on and went into the bathroom to put on some lipstick. Since Aralynn could fit into Cassie's clothes she picked a out a similar dress except it was red. She went in and put her lipstick on also.
Mean while Billie was getting dressed a little more nicely also. He slipped on a long sleeve button down shirt. The rest of the guys stayed in what they were wearing.

"So what's with the restaurant?" Mike asked.

"I'm going to ask Cassie to marry me," Billie said.

"Let me see the ring," Tre said. Billie sighed and pulled out a small box and opened it. Inside was a small ring with a golden band and three purple gems on it.

"Billie you did good. She's gonna love it," Jeff said. Billie nodded and slipped the ring back into his pocket.

"You nervous?" Tre asked. Billie nodded his head.

"Just don't have a panic attack," Mike said patting his back.

"I won't," Billie reassured. He took a gulp and began to walk over to Cassie's house with the guys behind him. He knocked on the door and was greeted by a smiling Aralynn.

"Where's Cassie?" Billie asked.

"Upstairs fixing her hair," she replied.

"Speak of the devil," Tre said as he looked at the stairs. There stood Cassie. Just by looking at her any man would of gotten a boner. The strapless dress showed a little cleavage. It showed enough that you could see her tattoo. The back was cut out and her new tattoo was visible. Her hair was tied up into a bun. Some of her bangs were hanging in front of her face. She walked down the stairs and joined the others.

"Let's go," she said as she started off for Billie's car. Billie followed close behind her, trying not to grab her ass. They all piled into his car.

* * *
They arrived at the nicest restaurant in Oakland. Once their car was parked they walked into the restaurant.

"Hello sir. Name please," the waitress said.

"Armstrong. Party of six," Billie said.

"Right this way sir. Follow me," the waitress said as she walked towards and open table. The group did as they were told and followed her. They sat down and waited for their next waiter to come. Soon they ordered their drinks and food. There was a small stage where bands would play and that was where Billie had planned to propose.

"So why did you bring me here?" Cassie asked.

"You'll see in a while," Billie said. His heart was beating out of time as he thought of what he was going to say before he proposed. During dinner there wasn't much conversation. There was a sort of tension between Billie and Cassie. About an hour later a voice filled the room.

"We have a new band playing for just tonight. They are called Green Day," the announcer said. Billie, Mike, and Tre stood up and walked over to the stage. They picked up their instruments and began to play Dry Ice. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to stop what they were doing. They all turned to listen to Green Day. Once the song was over Billie turned to face Cassie.

"Cassie please come up here for a bit," he said as he placed the guitar on the ground. Cassie had a confused look on her face, but she still did what she was told. Once she was up on the stage Billie grabbed her hands.

"Cassie, I'll send a letter to you. Asking you to by my own. But my pen is writing wrong, so I'll say it in a song. Oh I love you more right now. More than I've ever loved before. Hear those words straight from these lips, I'll need you forever more." he sang to her. Cassie felt her eyes tear up as he sang this. She knew what was coming next. Billie got down on one knee, he let go of her hands and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a box and opened it. Cassie took one glance at the ring and started crying.

"Cassie Foster, I love you more right now, more than I ever have before. Hear these words straight from these lips and be mine forever more. Please, Cassie, will you marry me?" Billie asked.
