Horny, Corny and Loving You, chapter 1

*August 1988*

I like my life. I am around 5'1, have medium length black hair with the ends dyed red. I dress kind of punky. I just turned 16 and I am a sophomore at Pinole Valley High School. My best friend is Billie Joe Armstrong my next door neighbor. Billie Joe has reddish brown hair and green eyes he is around the same height as me. We have known each other since we were in preschool and we always hung out together. We have been through a lot together. When Billie's dad died a few years ago I tried my best to help him cope with his loss. We always knew no matter what we would be there for each other.
It was nearing the end of August and school was starting up in two weeks. Billie, our other best friend Mike, and I decided to go to the mall. Mike was the bassist in Billie Joe's band and there drummer was a guy named John but he insisted on calling himself Al Sobrante. He was always hitting on me and I didn't like him. He was such a sleaze. They named the band Green Day because of one day when they got really high and watched Sesame Street. Billie is so weird but he and Mike are all I have since my mom left. My dad was never around because he worked all the time and when he was home he was drunk.
"Let's go to Hot Topic," I said. I loved to shop at Hot Topic it's my favorite store.
"Sure, sounds cool," Billie replied. Mike nodded in agreement.
We made our way to Hot Topic and as I was looking at a shirt I noticed a guy with spiked green hair came in. He looked around my age and was kind of cute. He was looking at a Ramones shirt when Billie Joe noticed him.
"Mike, don't we know him?" I heard Billie ask Mike.
"Yeah that's Tre, we met him at the Gilman at our last show, he's the drummer for The Lookouts," Mike replied.
Billie Joe and Mike went over to say hi and I followed. I kind of remembered him being a spaz at the Gilman.
"Hey dude, how's your band doing?" Billie asked Tre.
"Good," he replied, "and who may I ask is this lovely girl, is she your groupie?" he asked jokingly. I blushed a little.
"Hi I'm Lisa, and no I am not anybodies groupie," I said and I shook his hand.
Billie and Mike laughed.
"Good because Billie is definitely not good enough for you."
"Hey!" Billie said. "Can you please stop hitting on my best friend?"
"It's ok Billie. He's just jealous that you get to hang out with me all the time," I said. I smiled at Tre and noticed his amazingly blue eyes for the first time.
"It's true I've been found out," Tre said pretending to be upset. "I wish I was as cool as Billie and Mike so you'd hang out with me too."
I laughed at Tre. We all continued to shop for a while and I bought a new pair of red converse since my old black pair was getting worn out. Afterwards we decided to go to the food court. Tre begged to come with us and we let him come of course. How could anyone turn him down with those puppy dog eyes?
We went to McDonald's or "Mickey D's" as Tre called it. When it was Tre's turn to order he thought it would be funny to ask for extra ketchup and keep saying he still didn't have enough. He got them to give him around 25 packets and then the manager told him to leave. We all laughed at him. Tre was so ridiculous. Billie and Mike liked him he was just as crazy as they were.
"So, do you go to school with us?" I asked Tre as I ate my French fries.
"I didn't last year but I am this year," he replied. "My family lives in hillbilly country so I went to school there. I asked my parents if I could transfer this year and they said yes."
"Cool," I said. He nodded.

*Tre POV*

I noticed her right away when I walked into Hot Topic. I had taken the bus there to buy a new Ramones shirt. She was over by the converse looking at a red pair she was so beautiful. I was thinking about going over to her when I saw Billie and Mike coming over. She followed them over. She must be Billie's girlfriend I thought remembering her from the Gilman. Too bad. I said hi to the guys and asked her if she was a groupie. She said no I was so glad because I really like her. If she hangs out at the Gilman she's probably cool. We ate at the food court and I acted like an idiot but she laughed she seemed to like me.

*Normal POV*

We left the food court and started walking down to the music store because Mike and Billie needed some guitar picks. Tre and I decided to wait outside because we still had drinks and you couldn't bring them in the store. Tre and I sat down on a bench not too far down from the store. Billie and Mike would take forever they always do.
"So, you're sure you're not a groupie?" he said.
"Why do you ask? You looking for one?"
"As a matter of fact I am it's too bad that you aren't one," he said. "You would have been perfect." I laughed at him and blushed. Why was I blushing so much around him? He was just a guy. I hang out with guys all the time why was he so different?
"You are so corny," I said.
"Hey what can I say I'm horny, corny and loving it!" I laughed again.
"I don't know how Billie and Mike can resist you," he said jokingly but I could tell he was sincere.
"I ask myself that all the time and I've come to the conclusion that if Billie or Mike ever hit on me I'd have to kill them. They're like my brothers. I know way too much about them." Tre laughed at me.
"Do you know any embarrassing secrets about Billie or Mike?" Tre said and he wiggled his eyebrows. He had the same obnoxious sense of humor as I did. So I whispered something that I didn't think Billie would like to get around into Tre's ear. A few minutes later Mike and Billie came out of the store with there purchases. We started walking towards the exit wear Billie's car was parked. Tre and I tried to act as if nothing was going on. Then an evil smirk came across Tre's face.
"Hey Billie what's your favorite song?" Tre asked Billie.
"Hmm, that's a tough one probably Teenage Lobotomy by the Ramones."
"Oh really, because Lisa told me it was Look for Love," Tre said and with that I started to sing the embarrassing song that Billie had recorded when he was five. Mike laughed.
"Shut up, it's not funny!" said Billie.
We then continued to mock him.
"You must have been so adorable!" Tre said pinching Billie's cheek. Billie slapped Tre's hand away.
"You shouldn't have done that," Mike said trying not to laugh.
"You traitor! You said you'd never tell anyone about that!" he yelled at me then he ran after me and Tre. Mike chased after us too. We ran out the exit to the parking lot. It was fairly empty because it was a Wednesday and people were still in work.
"Follow me!" I said grabbing Tre's hand and running for Billie's car he was catching up to us. I fumbled with my keys and opened the car. After I pushed Tre into the driver's seat I crawled over him to the passenger side. He quickly shut the door and locked it. Tre and I laughed as Billie ran over to the car and tried to open the door. It's a good thing I drove us there. Billie knocked on my window. Tre and I laughed more. Billie calmed down and I told him I'd let him in the car if he didn't kill us. He reluctantly agreed and said he'd get me back later. Tre got out of the driver's seat and gave Billie the car keys.
"Oh I'm so scared," I said sarcastically.
"Tre, do you want to come hang out at Billie's?" I practically lived there so I could invite him over.
"Sure, if Billie will let me," he pouted and Billie said ok. Tre got in the backseat next to Mike. As we drove Tre started to hum Look for Love.
"You hum one more note of that song and you're dead," Billie threatened Tre. Tre looked at me and I shook my head no so he knew to stop.
"You're no fun," Tre said to Billie. I laughed and Billie glared at me. I love to annoy him. When we reached the house Billie asked if Tre wanted to jam with him and Mike. He accepted the offer and they went down to the basement where all the drums were. Billie ran to his room to get his guitar because he left it up there Mike did the same. Did I mention Mike lives with Billie? His mom couldn't afford to stay in the area and Mike didn't want to leave so he asked if he could stay with Billie's family.
"I have to replace a string on my guitar. I'll be down in a minute!" Billie yelled down the stairs.
"Okay!" I yelled back.
"How can you drink coffee now it's like five o' clock?" I heard him say to Mike. Mike is a coffeeholic. Tre and I waited for them to come back and Tre took a seat behind the drum kit.
"I wish I could play the drums," I said, "all I can play is the stupid piano."
"Come here I'll show you some stuff," he said. I went over and he got up for me to sit. He handed me the drum sticks and showed me how to hold them and showed be a simple beat. I attempted and did okay.
"Pretty good," he said.
"You're just being nice," I said.
"Yeah, you're horrible." I hit his arm.
"You jerk," I said, pretending to be angry.
"But you love me anyway don't you."
"Says who?" I said. I looked into his eyes. They were so beautiful. I looked away but couldn't help but look back. Then he leaned in and we kissed. I put my arms around his neck and the kiss deepened. I saw fireworks nobody had ever kissed me like this before.
"Ahem," I heard someone's throat clear and quickly pulled away. I looked over and saw Mike standing at the bottom of the stairs with his coffee in one hand and his bass in the other.
