There's One In Every Family, chapter 1
I sighed as I looked into the mirror. I looked fine to me: black eyeliner, hair covering my eyes and black jeans, but of course my parents weren't happy. They never were, not with me anyway.
"Why do you choose to abuse everything we give you that is nice Madison?" My mother said to me as I left to meet my friends. It wasn't the first time I had heard it and I knew it wouldn't be the last. "Madison, answer me. Don't keep ignoring me. I know you want to tell me so tell me. I can take it."
"Are you sure about that mom? You haven't been able to stand me for the last 4 years, so what makes you think you can take it now?" I snapped.
She looked at me like I was an alien. She always did. "Just tell me."
"Fine. It's because it's the way I want to live. It's the way I am. You can't do anything about it and you're scared about that. Admit it. You're scared of your own daughter. You're scared I will leave and never talk to you again. You're scared you will lose your daughter. Forever." I could see the tears building up in her eyes. "See, I told you you wouldn't be able to take it. I'll see you later, maybe." I turned and walked out of the house, slamming the door behind me.
The five minute walk to the mall was a good time for me to clear my head, of this morning and of my mother. I was debating with myself whether or not to go back tonight. If I can I'll try and crash at Billie's for the night and decide tomorrow. I liked that idea.
"MADISON!!! OVER HERE!!" The public introduction wasn't necessary, and I could tell exactly where Billie, Mike and Tré were, only because all the security guards had made a wide circle around them. They weren't the best of friends.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I asked looking around the circle.
"Not that much, mainly planning which security guy to piss off today," replied Tré with a smile plastered across his face.
"Give me a few minutes and I can get you the perfect guy to help," I said, pulling out my phone and dialing Oli's number. "Hey...yeah not much, I was wondering if you can get down to the mall in the next 5 minutes, before Tré goes mad...yeah madder than he already is...sweet, see you soon." I hung up. "Looks like you're in luck Tré, he will be here soon."
"Yay. Madison?"
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Promise you will never say I'm mad again."
"But Tré, its true and saying you aren't would be lying. Even Billie and Mike agree."
Tré turned to look at the guys, who had looked up and started scratching their necks like they had no idea what I was talking about. Tré looked back at me and acted sad.
"Get over yourself Tré, you know it's true as well."
"Yeah true...look who's here."
I turned and saw Oli walking towards us with a bag full of...something I couldn't quite tell.
Once he got to us I stood up and gave him a hug. "Good to see you could make it," I joked.
"I got here as fast as I could, but I had to stop and get supplies," he said as he shook his bag. Tré grabbed it off him and pulled out a few cans of silly-string. A smile spread across all our faces.
"Let's go then," he said handing out the cans. We walked over to the nearest shop and disappeared out of the sight of the security men.
