The Regrets, chapter 2
"Now, I believe I had an appointment to kick your ass?" she asked as she came back into the room.
"Oh, didn't you hear? That appointment has been cancelled," I laughed, grabbing her around the waist and pulling her back down onto the bunk with me.
"I'll just have to kick it later then," she smirked, coming to rest on her side next to me.
We spent the next few minutes looking into each others eyes and constantly inching closer to the other, I'd only met her last night, but we seemed to connect, and what did Mikey call it? We had sparks or something between us, and I was certain that I wasn't the only one that could feel it.
"You should go," she whispered, lips mere centimetres from mine.
"No hurry," I whispered back, closing the gap between us and gently kissing her.
"Well, maybe we can just make out for a while," she sighed contentedly and trailed off.
"Good idea," I laughed, pulling her closer and intertwining our limbs.
***
"Get a room!!" Billie yelled at us about 15 minutes later.
"We're in a room dipshit!" I yelled back, disentangling myself from Erin and fixing my shirt.
"Yeah, well, we have to go. Rob wants us back to our bus, we have to go and record or something apparently," he trailed off, still looking very much asleep.
"Billie come back!" was whined from the other room. "I'm cold."
"Chloe! They have to go, let him leave for Christ's sake! Give him your number! Organise to meet up with him again!" Erin yelled.
"So can I have yours?" I asked. I wasn't leaving until I had her number on speed dial.
"Can you have my what?" she questioned, slightly confused for a second before realising my question. "Oh yeah, course you can," she grinned brightly and scrabbled around for a bit of paper and a pen.
"Here," I replied, pulling out my cell and handing it to her when she didn't look like she was gonna find the pen and paper. "Put it straight in there and then I cant loose it unless my phone gets stolen or Billie breaks it."
"I do not break people's phones!" he protested, coming into the room with his open.
"How many phones have you gone through in the last year Bill?" I questioned, pulling him out of the room and rounding the others up on the way.
"15, but that's not the point!" he protested as he walked down the steps of their bus and continued over to ours.
"I'll call you later okay?" I said, kissing her one last time and then yanking Jason White out the door with me.
Erni's POV
"I miss him already," Chloe whined.
We were all sitting at one window of our bus and watching the boys head over to theirs.
"I know," I muttered, more to myself as everyone had started to disperse coz Tom was yelling at them to do something.
"Come on kids. We have an in store to do today," he said, causing me to snap out of my trance and for us all to whine.
"An in store? Ah man!" Terri moaned. She hated them more than the rest of us, coz usually we did it all acoustic and she couldn't do much.
"Enough with the kid talk too, you're the same age as us punk boy!" I said, joking around and giving him a playful shove.
***
"Okay guys, here they are...The Regrets!!"
We rushed out onto the stage and I was amazed at how many people they fitted into the store. Okay, maybe the store was kind of big. But I was still shocked.
"Okay, were gonna sing you guys some songs and then we'll sign anything you have for us, okay?" Amanda spoke into the mic. The crowd went nuts, but allowed us to start.
***
"Hi. Who is this to?" I asked, I was becoming slightly bored, but I guess it boils down to the fact that I'm a hyper ass drummer and I can't sit still for long.
We continued writing out autographs until I heard Amanda squeak excitedly from the other end of the line.
"Holy hell! Ronnie? What the fuck are you doing here?!"
I finished the auto graph I was on a looked over at her questionably. She had toned it down considerably, seeing as our fans would probably go nuts if they new Green Day were around. But it was definitely Ronnie. I looked past him and saw, Billie, Mike, Jason, Jason and Tre standing in the line too.
They were trying to pull off the whole incognito look, with hats and sunglasses, but you could tell it was them straight away. Add to that the fact that Tre's hair was currently bright red and sticking out from under his hat a bit and you could clearly see Billie's bright blue hair from Mars if you wanted to, they were extremely lucky they didn't get caught out.
Tom must have noticed all our reactions, because he suddenly said, "Sorry guys, we're gonna have to end it there, be sure to buy the girls EP The Devil wears converse."
He was met by collective moans from the crowd, but no one seemed really annoyed and everyone started to drift away. Don't ask me how we did it, but somehow we all managed to keep our composure and pretend we were packing up until the last person left the store. It was then that we pounced.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!?" I laughed, jumping into Tre's arms, causing him to swing me around a bit.
"Well, we were in town as you know and this devil sure as hell wears converse," he said, motioning to his feet and making me to look at the battered black cons with green laces he had on. "And I wanted to see my new favourite person," he finished blushing slightly.
"You're so cute," I giggled, rubbing my nose against his. "Now put me down"
"Hey! You're the one that jumped into my arms in the first place!" he pouted, holding onto me tighter. "Plus I want a hug," he smirked into my neck.
"Dude, you're groping my ass!" I laughed, and managed to wiggle free from his grip.
"Oh like you didn't enjoy it," he retaliated.
"Okay, maybe I did just a little bit," I said gesturing with one hand and grabbing his hand with my other.
"I'm taking you to lunch," he said, sounding like it was a bit spur of the moment.
"What about the others?" I questioned as he literally dragged me out the door.
"Nope. They're not special enough," he grinned. "So just you and me."
"You do realise this could cause controversy, don't you?" I smirked as he pulled me into a small diner called Joe's. "I guess not." I laughed as he pulled me to a table, right down the back and as far away as we could get from everyone else.
"What would you say if I asked you to be my girlfriend right now?" he asked after we had ordered our meals.
"Okay. That's a bit out of the blue seeing as I've only known you for 2 days. Have you thought about what might get out to the media? The Regrets aren't really an unknown band, as you could probably tell from the signing today."
"Yep. I've thought of all that. And I don't care. I like you, and I know you like me. Let's see what happens. If it gets out to the media, it gets out to the media. Until then, lets just enjoy it being you and me alright?" he finished and I couldn't help but clap. What he said was exactly what I wanted to hear.
"Of course I'll be your girlfriend, Tre," I smiled and leaned forward to kiss him.
"White owes me 20 bucks", he said grinning.
I quirked an eyebrow.
"No! It wasn't a bet to see if you would go out with me! He thought you would. He just bet that you weren't gonna say yes if I asked you today," he said slightly flustered.
"Well he should owe you 50 bucks," I said laughing and taking my order from the waitress. I had a burger with the lot, a large fries and a super size chocolate shake. People often ask me how I can eat that much. My answer to them is 'I'm a drummer. I need the energy'.
"I can't believe you're going to eat all that," Tre laughed gesturing at my plate. "I mean, I know you probably use the excuse that you need energy like I do, but shit girl! You really put me into competition!" he said imitating a black woman.
"Damn straight," I giggled, winking at him and taking a bite out of my burger.
***
"Fuck! That was some good food," I burped. I looked over at Tre and noticed that he had some barbeque sauce on the side of his mouth. "You have something on you're face," I said pointing.
He wiped at both sides of his mouth somehow missing the sauce that was there. "Gone?" he questioned.
"Nope. Here, I'll get it," I said grinning and leaning towards him.
"Remind me to get stuff on my face more often," he grinned as I licked all remaining traces of sauce off my lips. "Aw! Way to ruin a good lunch," he moaned.
"What? What did I do?" I questioned.
"Nothing," he replied. "Look," I looked over to where he was pointing and saw everyone else coming into the diner.
"Ah man! Maybe they haven't seen us yet. Duck!" I said as we both dived under the table.
We thought we were safe until we saw two pairs of feet at the side of the table and heard two voices.
"I'm gonna count to ten Erni, and if you don't come out then you're not gonna have any Fruit Loops for breakfast," Chloe said to me.
Dammit! She knew my weakness, but I couldn't let her win.
"Don't make me lock up the pop tarts again Tre," Billie warned.
"Noooooooo! Pop Tarts!" he exclaimed popping out from under the table.
"Trrrreeeeeeeeeeee!" I whined in response, also coming out from under the table. "You ruined it."
"But. Pop tarts," he said, not noticing the huge grin that was spread across Billie's face.
"They were just saying that to get us out from underneath the table sweetie," I giggled, taking his face with my hands and kissing him on the nose.
"So it's one nil to Chloe and Billie, huh?" he pouted, hugging me around the waist.
"Yep. But we'll get them back," I whispered, grinning evilly once Billie and Chloe had gone back to everyone else.
"Oooohh! You're my little spawn of Satan aren't you," he grinned, dragging me over to the table where the remaining members of our bands sat.
"So. What's on the agenda for the rest of the day, Tommy ma boy?" I questioned once Tre and I had reached the table.
"Nothing. That in store was meant to take longer than it did, and you're lucky enough not to have a gig tonight," he said. "So you can basically run amuck. But notice how I didn't say literally"
"Woo hoo!" I cheered. "Wanna do something?" I asked, looking at Tre.
"Sure," he grinned, patting his lap and motioning for me to sit down as I was the only one still standing.
"You two are awfully cozy," Amanda said to us, raising an eyebrow so far that it almost got lost in her red hair.
"Isn't that what boyfriends and girlfriends are meant to do?" I retaliated.
Ha! I had got her there. She couldn't do anything but open and close her mouth lamely while she thought of a comeback.
"Oh. By the way, you owe me 20 bucks," Tre grinned, pointing at Jason White. Jason glared and reluctantly handed the money over.
"Money stealer," he grumbled.
"Hey! You're the one that made the bet man!" Tre exclaimed, pocketing the money.
I then felt him grope at my ass and do something.
"What the bloody heck are you doing?" I asked, more out of shock than in anger.
"Moving these," he laughed, putting my sticks on the table. "They're not exactly the most comfortable things to have digging into your leg," he finished, moving me slightly to make the both of us comfortable.
"So. Can I have Fruit Loops tomorrow?" I asked Chloe, completely changing the subject. Sure, I didn't want her to think that she had won, but she already knew. I loved Fruit Loops too much.
"As long as the cops don't show up at anytime tonight, yes," she said, pausing for dramatic effect and causing my eyes to go wide in anticipation.
"Same goes for you," Billie said to Tre. "If there are no cops, you get the Pop Tarts."
"Oh, didn't you hear? That appointment has been cancelled," I laughed, grabbing her around the waist and pulling her back down onto the bunk with me.
