Maybe Perfection Is Me., chapter 1

Emmy's POV.
"Mama!" Summer screamed when the gunshots went off. Jason handed her to me then ran around front with Billie and Mike. Shanna got out of the pool and we walked inside.
"I'll be right back. I'm gonna go see what happened." I muttered handing her Summer and walking out into the front yard to see Sunny and Tre covered in blood.
"Fuck! Em." Jason said coming over to me. I had turned pale and my breathing was shallow.
"Em. Look at me. Emily. C'mon. Don't go into shock." He said placing his hands on my shoulders.
"Don't let Shanna out here. I need you to go inside and call an ambulance. Baby, look at me and breathe. Everything's gonna be okay." Jason said and I nodded and ran back inside looking at Shanna.
"911 what's your emergency?" The operator asked.
"I need an ambulance at the Wright's residence... there was a drive by and two of my friends got shot," I said.
"They'll be there. They're on their way miss," she said and I hung up. Shanna looked at me.
"It's okay. Shanna, just don't go out there. Please," I said knowing that if she did she would break down.
"Emily! We need some towels!" Mike yelled and I looked at Shanna then ran to the hall closet and got 8 towels out then ran outside.

The ambulance arrived and Billie went inside to check on Shanna and the kids. I watched as the loaded up Sunny and then Tre. I noticed that there was blood all over the sidewalk and I suddenly felt dizzy.
"Em, you okay?" Mike asked and I nodded. Jason came over and put his hand on my shoulder.
"They're gonna be okay." He said and I bit my lip as he pulled me into a hug. Shanna came out crying and she ran over to me.
"It's gonna be okay." I mumbled as she held onto me tight.

"What're gonna do?" I asked Jason as we drove home.
"We wait. That's all we can do," he said pulling into the driveway. I quickly got out and got Summer out and we walked inside. We had no longer gotten inside when Mike called from the hospital. We quickly left our house again and went to the hospital.
"Thank god." Mike said when we walked in. I looked at Billie and noticed that he was crying.
"Dada," Summer said and Jason took her from me and I walked over to where Billie was sitting with his head in his hands.
"Hey," I said placing a hand on his back. He looked up at me and I gave him a hug.
"They said that Sunny and Tre both are out of surgery. You guys can go home if ya want. I'll call if anything changes," Billie said and I looked at Jason.
"Jason. I need to be comforted." I said walking into our room after putting Summer to sleep for a nap. I flopped down on the bed and he smiled and walked over to me.
"I fucking love you," I muttered when Jason pushed me back onto the bed and took off my shirt. He smiled and our lips crashed together.

"God, Sunny was right. Men do comfort good," I muttered into Jason's neck. He smiled and pulled me closer. Summer started crying so I quickly threw on some clothes and ran into her room.

Sunny's P.O.V

I didn't remember much. I felt my eyelids flutter open, then this huge pain crash through my body. I screamed as loud as I could, fighting away anyone who came near me. I didn't know what was happening, but once I got a needle in my arm, I immediately calmed down, but continued to whimper.
'I got shot.' I thought to myself as I curled in a ball and tried to push the pain away.
"Mrs. Armstrong?" I heard a doctor ask.
"Go away," I mumbled, tears spilling down my cheeks.
I starred at him as he injected another needle and I tumbled into darkness.

I woke up, feeling a new presence in the room. I looked up and pushed the pain out of my head as I saw Billie run up to me. Damn, I needed morphine or something. This wasn't right, my body shouldn't be hurting this much after they took the bullet out right?
"Hi." I tried to smile, but it came out as sort of a pained expression.
"Doctor?" Billie looked at me scared.
"There was complications, we need to take her back into surgery," he told Billie.
"No!" I screamed at him as the last of the drug he had given me, wore off.
Billie looked horrified as I tried not to move in the bed, my body jerking, trying to fight off the pain.
"Oh god," his eyes spilled over with tears and he yelled at the doctor to give me something.
"We can't, she needs to go into surgery soon, she can't have a drug fighting off the pain when she goes in." He told Billie.
I struggled, and soon made myself black out, trying to fight off the pain.

I woke up in the middle of surgery, was that allowed? Screamed again until Billie looked at me with a mask and told me to calm down.
"I love you and I need you. Stop moving. That's good. Stay with me please." He tried to smile as the tears welled up.
"Touch your fingers to your palm." They told me.
I looked down at my arm, nothing looked wrong with it. I quickly touched each finger individually to my wrist then back again, then did the same with the other.
"Okay, wiggled your left toes," the doctor told me.
"It hurts," I mumbled, looking around, catching Billie's eyes as he held onto my hand and told me it would be okay.
I wiggled my left toes.
"Good job, now right." The doctor told me. I quickly wiggled my right toes then begged them to put me back to sleep.

I woke up, the pain gone, except for knowing I had a whole bunch of cuts on my body. The first thing I worried about was how everyone was handling this, where Paitan was and if something was wrong with Tre.
I looked up; no one was in the room. In the most I expected Billie to be there. I saw the door inch open and people screaming down the hall, looking for Paitan. She must have got away. I smiled at her as she looked up at me from down on the floor and lifted her hands up to me, tears streaming down her face.
"Hi Boo." I slowly picked her up and she cried into my hospital nightgown, hugging me tight. "It's okay." I smiled, hugging her tight. I watched as Emmy ran past the door, with Summer trying to wiggle out of her grip when she saw me and Paitan.
"What? No, you can't get down." Emmy looked to where I was and smiled, running into the room and calling out that she found Paitan.
"Hey!" She smiled at me. I could see the faint look of pity on her face, but brushed it away. Of course I looked bad, I was in the hospital for being shot.
"Hey!" Billie, Mike, Jason and Shanna all ran into the room, crowding around me, looking to see if I was okay.
"Hey, what about me?" I watched as Tre, in a wheel chair, drove himself into my room, showing off my doing a wheelie and smiling at me, kissing Shanna who was overwhelmed with joy that he was okay.
"I'm not coming to save you next time you get shot." I glared at him as he laughed and promised that he wasn't planning on getting shot again.
"You scare me sometimes," Billie walked up and hugged me tight, me pushing off the pain that he was bringing on, and hugged him back, Paitan wiggling away from him and closer to me.

Emmy's POV
"C'mon. We have to go home." I said trying to get Summer. She held onto the blankets of the hospital bed and screamed loudly when I picked her up.
"We'll come back tomorrow." I said and she started crying not wanting to leave everyone.
"No." She said and started to cry even more. Jason and I quickly told everyone bye then walked down the hall.
"Mommy." Summer cried again.
"I know you didn't want to leave." I mumbled walking out the door and into the parking lot with Jason following me. I felt his arm around my waist and I leaned into his side. Once we got to the car he unlocked the back door and opened it for me.
"Mama!" Summer said as I buckled her in then handed her a toy to keep her occupied.
"I'm hungry." I said to no one as I got in the car and Jason started it.
"What do you want?" He asked me and I smiled.
"I seriously have no clue." I mumbled turning on the radio.
Today Tre Cool from Green Day and Sunny-Lee Armstrong were injured in a drive by shooting and a barbeque that Mr. Cool was holding. I was told by reporters that they both came out of surgery and the bullets were removed and they are currently resting in the hospital with the close friends and family. The radio person said and I looked at Jason.
"Tomorrow we probably won't even be able to get into the hospitals because of the reporters. It's gonna be hectic." Jason said and I turned off the radio when it started to play London Bridges.

We got home around 10 that night.
"Play," Summer said and I sat her down in the floor in the living room watching her crawl. She had learned about 3 days ago and was still a little clumsy. I yawned and sat down my keys on the kitchen table. Jason smiled and I yawned again. I felt his eyes on me as I got a pop out of the fridge. I walked back into the living room to see Summer playing. The phone rang and I heard Jason yelling for me. I got up and he handed me the phone as he walked into the living room with Summer.
"Hello?" I asked jumping up on the counter and cradling the phone between my ear and shoulder.
"Emily...its Ron. How is everyone?" he asked me and I sighed.
"The rest of the tours cancelled...Sunny just got shot and I'm sure Leslie and Kelsey are going to understand. I talked to both of them earlier and they said that it was our decision." I said and I heard him sigh.
"If that's your decision I completely understand. Maybe we can figure something else out once everyone gets better." He said and I nodded to myself.
"Alright...well. I'm gonna go. Bye," I said hanging up and putting the phone back on the charger.

I felt something land on the my stomach the next morning and I slowly opened my eyes to see Summer sitting there poking my nose.
"Mama!" she yelled and I yawned. She poked me again and giggled.
"How did you get out of your crib?" I asked and noticed Jason was coming out of the bathroom.
"Dada!" Summer yelled and giggled when Jason picked her up.
"Pool?" she asked him and he looked at me. I turned my head to look at the clock and noticed it was noon.
"I'll be down in a minute," I mumbled and noticed that Summer already had her bathing suit on and Jason had his swimming trunks on.
"So now you gang up on me. I see how it is," I yelled to them as they walked out the door. I got out of bed and threw on my bathing suit then pulled up my hair and got a beach towel out of the closet. I clumsily walked downstairs still trying to wake up. I finally made my way outside to the pool. The sun was hurting my eyes and I quickly groaned then covered my eyes with my hand as I put my towel on the outside table.
"Mommy!" Summer yelled and I smiled at her. I decided I was going to get in so I carefully got in the pool and Jason handed me Summer.

"Hey. Tre, now you can say you're a gangsta!" I yelled walking into his room. He looked up from his video ipod and I smiled at him.
"Hells yeah! I'm a gangsta now! You better watch your back motherfu-" But stopped when he saw Summer. I laughed and Jason came in.
"Tre," Summer mumbled and Jason handed her to Tre. She giggled and poked his chest.
"Hey little trouble maker." He said and then Shanna came back into the room with 2 cups of coffee yawning.
"How's Sunny?" I asked Tre who was letting Summer listen to his ipod.
"She's fine. Billie on the other hand. He's going crazy." Tre said and I giggled.
"Watch Summer. We're gonna go see Sunny," I said.
"Please don't scar her for life Tre." Jason said and Tre looked shocked as we walked out.

Sunny's P.O.V

I smiled as Billie rushed in with a cup of coffee which I told him he had to get me.
"It was for you, I just knew you wouldn't go get yourself one. Calm down. I'm perfectly fine." I smiled at him as Paitan clung to me, scared to let me go.
"Mama!" she exclaimed, trying to reach for the coffee in his hand.
"Here tyke," he handed her a small donut, which she grabbed gratefully and turned back to me, kissing my cheek and sucking away on the donut, occasionally taking a bite.
"Sunny!" Emmy walked in, looked at Billie and grimaced, immediately going to fix his hair, which he had been tugging at since I had woken up. I decided that I wouldn't tell him about the slightest hurts, because he immediately called a doctor, who told him it was normal.
"Hey, how's Tre doing?" I asked her.
"He's awesome, acting gangsta and all." She smiled at me. "But how are you?" she asked.
"Umm... I'm awesome too, and they wont let me eat what I want," I complained to her.
"Cookie?" she grabbed a bag of cookies out from her purse and laughed with me as I sighed and said "finally, food!"

I wheeled myself down to Tre's room with Paitan; Billie had fallen asleep in a chair in my room.
"Hey Tre," I smiled at him.
"Paitan!" He quickly scooped her up, ignoring her trying to grip onto me, and started making her dance, which brought a fit of giggles from her.
"Mommy's all better see?" He turned her around and I smiled at her. She immediately smiled back and tried to get to me.
"Sunny!" Billie burst in the room, and hugged me.
"Right, we need to get you on anti-depressants. I'm fine. Remember? Tre goes home in a couple days and I go home a couple days after him, we're all fine." I tried to smile at him, but he looked so worried, so i took his face in my hands and kissed him, long and hard, showing him that I was okay.
