Your Time Means Nothing, chapter 1

"Jakob, honey, it was just a bad dream, a nightmare. Go back to sleep and maybe you'll have a happy dream" Adrienne whispered raucously glancing at the alarm clock flashing 3 A.M.

Jakob pouted and pointed to his forehead where he expected his mother to 'kiss the demons out of his dreams' like she always did when he was upset. This custom was adopted when Billie Joe left for the American Idiot tour leaving Jakob saddened and confused. Being he was old enough to notice the lack of a major parental figure that everyone else seemed to posses, he'd constantly inquire where his daddy was. He'd have sleepless nights curled next to his mother playing with the cotton blanket he was brought home in asking his mother relentlessly about his birth. Adrienne soon realized his original birth story was to bland for his taste, and soon Jakob's birth date turned to an Indiana Jones adventure.

Whatever the story, it always started the same. "When your father was away. . ."

Adrienne pecked him on the forehead, running her hands over his tangled hair. "Do you want to sleep with Mommy and Daddy?" She whispered wistfully glancing at Billie's brawny back.

Jakob nodded bashfully, crawling maladroitly upon the raised bed, snuggling into Adrienne's embracing arms. Billie stirred and groaned feeling the shifting of the bed. Incoherent mumblings turned to conscious inquiring as he turned around to face a timidly re-adjusting Jakob.

"You popped another kid out?" Billie croaked, half lidded eyes blinking rapidly.

"Yes, honey, I hope it didn't wake you." She responded sarcastically, kissing Billie on the cheek temporarily smashing Jakob between the couple. He groaned lightly and giggled pushing against Billie Joe's chest with his tiny hands.

"You feel that, Adrienne?" Billie asked, leading Adrienne to another kiss in order to exert another giggling fit from Jakob.

"Yea, the air conditioning has been acting up lately." Adrienne played along, scooting closer to Billie's body causing Jakob to shriek with laughter. "You should probably get on that first thing in the morning.."

"That's not the only thing I'll be getting on." Billie murmured mischievously. Adrienne raised an eyebrow in amusement.

"I mean yes, my dear" Billie said absent mindedly, caressing her cheek longingly. "I've really missed you, love, we should lay as close as we can so that maybe we will never have to be apart." Billie smirked as Jakob shrieked his retaliation.

"Wait!" Adrienne hissed as she froze in her last position "I think there's a giant bed bug under the covers."

Billie sighed in disapproval, "Don't be ridiculous, there are no such things as—OH MY GOD IT'S A GIANT BED BUG!" Billie plunged under the covers and tickled his youngest son causing the already shrill shrieks grow to boisterous howls of boyish laughter.

Adrienne smiled, this was far better than her traditional story of Jakob being birthed on a Pirate ship somewhere off the coast of Cuba while Joey fought off demons with a light saber.
