The Best and Worst in this Life
As much as we hate it, most of our lives aren't like the movies. We don't always get happy endings. Sometimes we do, but usually we just can't win in the end. Some things that happen in movies but really don't carry over into real life:
The underdog doesn't always win.
No matter how hard you try, sometimes you're still just not good enough. Effort can only take you so far.
Even if you do the right thing, it doesn't always work out.
You were honest, you were moral, you had integrity. Things still just might not work out for you. As much as it sucks, sometimes evil just prevails.
You miss the plane/train/bus/taxi and lose him/her forever.
It doesn't matter that you sped to the airport, fate isn't always on your side. You don't always make it there in time, and you never get to declare your everlasting love.
Sometimes, they just don't like you back.
You built up all your courage and finally told them how you've felt for so long, and they like someone else. Or just don't feel the same way back. It plain sucks.
And this is the truth, I hope I didn't bum people out too much. So to even things out, I made a list of the best things.
THE BEST
-The smell after rain
-Sleeping in the grass
-Finding the perfect pair of jeans
-Warm showers
-Snow days
-Finally being able to pee after you held it in for really, really long
-Going for walks at night
-That excited feeling you get when you finally take the wrapper of a cd/dvd/game and open the case
-Good music in movies
-Finally getting home on a Friday afternoon
-Old school Disney movies
-Hugs.
-Good kissers ( =
-Clothes that fit really well
-Waking up a few hours before your alarm goes off, noting that you're really glad you have X amount of hours left to sleep, and contently falling back asleep
-Taking a running jump into an enormous pile of leaves
-Being around friends
-Looking at the stars
-Cold pillows
-Putting on your clothes right after you take them out of the dryer on a cold day
-Soft pajamas
-Sitting on your front porch watching lightning.
-Cuddling
-Finding money and other goodies in an old pair of pants/jacket.
-Opening your windows in the winter and sleeping with a mountain of blankets
-Listening to songs from when you were a kid
-Hearing someone tell you that they love you
-When your jeans get really soft after you've washed them lots of times, and they don't even feel like denim anymore
-The first warm day of spring

I love this blog. It made me realize that even though things don't always work out, there's always good in this world. Whether it's peeing after you've held it for so long, or the smell of the rain, there's always something to make you feel good. =)

I hope you didn't just copy/paste this and the list cause it unbelievable cheered me up! I am happy the someone feels like this cause I feel it too. I mean, the best list, all of those things mentioned and plus a few of mine make me happy everyday. I would probably kill myself if it wasn't like that. Maybe what I am saying wasn't your intention, maybe you don't look at it that way, but thank you very much anyways!
