Heroes Never Live Long.
There are so many great musicians who died too young. Even Mozart should've lived to at least 50. Think Kurt Cobain. Think John Lennon. (especially John Lennon) It seems that whenever we get a hero, they die. This seems incredibly unfair. How often do you get a man like John Lennon? But with the bang of a shotgun, we're all alone again. You may not know your hero personally, but whether it's Gerard Way or Björk, you do feel like you do have some personal connection. So when we lose our heroes, it's like losing a friend. And you never got to meet Kurt Cobain.

•Joey Ramone, singer of The Ramones was born May 19, 1951. On April 15, 2001 he died of lymphoma at a hospital in New York City. The Ramones never achieved much commercial success, but influenced bands lke Green Day and U2.

•Freddie Mercury, singer of Queen, was born September 5, 1946 and died November 24, 1991 of bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS. It had only been 24 hours since he announced to the worls that he had AIDS.

•John Lennon, lead guitar and vocalist of The Beatles, solo artist, and peace activist was born October 9, 1940 and died December 8, 1980 after being shot 5 times by a deranged fan. If he were alive today, the world would be a much better place. His music and activism continues to influence even the most punk rock of bands.

•Kurt Cobain, singer and guitarist of Nirvana was born February 20, 1967, and died April 5, 1994 after shooting himself in the mouth. Nirvana broke grunge, and set the stage for Green Day to make an appearance.
If these people had never died, who knows how the world could be better? (would some of our favorite bands even exist?)

After 13 years, I still miss Kurt Cobain. I didn't know him and I was too young in the early '90s to really understand him and his lyrics but looking back, he didn't seem to me to be the type of person that would live long. He seemed to me to possess this fragility that just couldn't exist in this world for very long. Heroes are like that, I suppose. They are given to us for a short time only but they impact us long after their deaths. Honestly, all of the people you mentioned inspired me in their own way. Especially John Lennon and Kurt.

wow. too many people are commiting suicide, and too many people are killing each other. i hate this world, but not enough to kill myself.
and if John Lennon was still alive,he would be the hero of everyone's life, including mine.

I love this blog. It's a great tribute to real heroes. They've all helped the world in so many ways. Heroes, the greatest people, always die.
It sucks. D:
Also, what bothers me the most about some of the heroes I look up to are that they lived and died before I was born. =[ So I'll never get the chance to meet them or see them in concert.

Your right, the greats always die young it seems. But as was said in Kurt Cobain's suicide note, it's better to burn out than to fade away. Meaning that they'll never be forgotten.
Good blog

Their popularity doesn't matter--they were all great people.
