One Day I'll Fly Away, Leave all this to yesterday...
Sydney.
My favourite city in the world. (Tied with Lucerne, Switzerland, but meh, its all the same here.)
800km south/southwest is my home, Melbourne.
Don't get me wrong, Melbourne's beautiful, but I love Sydney so much it hurts. I've been there twice over the past 2 years, the last being the beginning of October, and I just adore it. It's just gorgeous.
The thing is: I want to move there. My dad? For it. He lived there for over a decade, and he loves it too, and he's all for me doing University there and living there. Only thing is, that he doesn't live with us anymore and even though hes my dad, he doesn't have much say, which is unfortunate.
My mum doesn't want me to go, mainly because she doesn't think I'll be able to support myself, with University fees, accommodation etc.
However, I've spoken to my dad about it and asked him about what mum said and he said that I'd have to support myself like that wherever I went, even if I stayed in Melbourne. If that's the case, why shouldn't I be able to go?
I made this blog because I need some advice: How do I try and convince my mum that it's a good idea me moving to Sydney?

Uni is a couple of years away, yes, however, we're starting to talk about it with my sister, and mum thought that we may as well start with me too.
thanks so much! I really appreciate it :)

Okay, well, you're 15? ..So, Uni is a couple of years away, yes?
I live in Sydney. I start Uni early next year. I went to an info day the other day. Some Uni's have accommodation that you can use. Like, you could live in a shared house with 5 or so other people. Generally, you're only at Uni for 12 hours a week..so, it would be fairly easy to have a job at the same time.
As for Uni fees..You can always get HECS. That's what I'm doing. The government pays for your Uni fees, and when you get a job and start earning over a certain amount of money, you start to pay the government back.
Sydney is a great place.
