What My Life Was Like Without Green Day
This past summer, for about 3 months, I sort of got away from Green Day. I hadn't seen them in a long time, hadn't heard anything, and to be honest, was getting tired of waiting around. I made the mistake of taking such an awesome band for granted. Not sure if you know or not, but Billie Joe is, like, my everything. He's a complete inspiration, he's so amazing, I can't even tell you how highly I think of him. I love him so much. He's my favorite person in the whole world. Anyway, I took liking an awesome guy like him for granted, too. I thought I could like another guy and I'd be just as happy.
Guess what? I was sorely mistaken.
Those three months, to be brief, sucked. My anxiety was at an all time high, I didn't have an enjoyable summer, and I felt sad all the time. I'm not sure if all this was completely due to Billie Joe/Green Day deprivation, but I'm willing to bet it had a lot to do with it.
I won't make that mistake again. The grass always seems greener on the other side, but then once you get to the other side, you realize you've made a mistake. It's true when they say you don't have what you've got until its gone.
Now I know just how big of an impact Green Day's made on my life, Billie Joe even more so. In a way, it was good that I realized this. It certainly makes me appreciate them, and him, more now than ever.
This blog isn't just about my experience - just a little word of advice:
Don't let the people that are most important to you go. Even if you're going through a rough patch, even if you feel drained because of them - don't let them go. If you do, you'll quickly realize why they were so important to you in the first place...but they might not always be so easy to get back.

Im sure Green Day's next album will be realesed soon. When a band take a substantial amount of time to bring out a new album, it means there productive and care for their product. Dont Worry, look how long American Idiot took to arrive, and that was groudbreaking. (:

I know what you mean.
Sometimes we take things for granted, but the moment you realize how much you miss it you never want to let it go again.. ever.
