“What is it?”

And for a sixth time, I’ve met Elliot Minor and seen them live. Getting up at half five in the morning, we boarded the train to York at 6.40, ready for the 70 minute journey to the famous Northern city of York. 10 minute walk, 15 minute queue, but we got our wristbands; proceeding to waste time [the signing was a lovely 10 hours later].

So anyway, going into the gig the boys played a series of songs: Still Figuring Out, Time After Time, Running Away, Jessica & Parallel Worlds, before a signing in which I got both my copies [] of their album signed.

The songs are always full of energy. One of my favourites is Running Away, which Alex has a habit of changing to “Ed Minton is gay, yes he is,” instead of “Stop running away, stop running away.” Avoiding it in the first chorus, Ed assumed himself to be safe until of course mid way through the second chorus, Ed’s microphone seemed to almost silence itself as Alex broke into the famous words, to Ed’s confused face.

But, I always go on about their amazingness…today I’m going to mention little things which made me smile.

Alex has a habit of when doing the rock symbol hand thing [I’ve had 3 hours sleep in 36 hours and can’t think of the name] he wiggles his fingers, like bends and curls them. At Manchester he did that to me after I did the rock symbol but at York, mid gig, he made direct eye contact and started doing it, only stopping after I’d started doing it too.

That made me happy.

I was a little annoyed at the bouncers; me, Teddy & Ed were having a conversation about the black smudge of an autograph that Teddy put on my neck at Manchester, with Ed’s exact words being “What is it?” although they both agreed it was cool after I’d told them.

Dan and Ali were also happy to see it was my sixth time.

But yeah…amazing.

Oh…and afterwards we sort of kind of on accident purpose made a detour to see if I knew their address…turns out I do…
