Define Sex.
The idea for this blog sparked when I was in the car with my Mum, driving home from Claudio's. Not because I was at Claudio's and she decided to talk to me about the birds and the bees, but because my best friend gave her virginity to her boyfriend 1 and a half months ago and only just told me. It was really bugging me because I couldn't help but think she says she's ready now, but when she's 18 she'll feel differently' I know, it's her choice, but I couldn't shake the feeling! I actually felt bad for her! She an nice, attractive girl, but she's easily influanced... I don't want to seem as if I'm judging her because I won't tell people "how far" I've gone because I'm afraid of being judged.
I believe sex is intercoarse. General penial vaginal(
) intercoarse. My Mum believes it's oral sex. I think sex is okay if you're comfertable and it's legal.
I was really just looking for everyones opinion. How far do you think is far engough for your age? What do you believe sex is? When is it okay?

i talk about this with my friends all the time at school lol.
and my friend actauly went home and asked her step mum and she said that you have actual lost your virginity when you do anything like yeaa not just sex
but i don't really belive that, i belive that you acually loose your virginity when you have have penis goes into the vegimite sex.

I just think it all depends on what you believe. To me, penetrative sex is when I would consider someone no longer a virgin. Whatever you believe is whatever you believe and you can't change it, so if you believe that "fingering" or oral sex doesn't make you a virgin, so be it.

This is how I look at it, I don't plan on getting married unless I am 100% in love, and want to spend the rest of my life with them. I want to keep my body from everyone but that person who is special to me, and to me marriage shows that they will love me for me. It's special to me, and I don't want anyone to have it who will just abuse me, or just take it and run, leaving me heartbroken, and distrustful of everyone from then on.
See, that's my reason for saving myself untill marriage. Yes, lots of marriages end in divorces, but I myself will feel better going into it. I just don't feel right anyother way.
It's not a religious thing or whatever, it's just the way I feel.
Plus, who wants an STD or unplanned baby to ruin their lives?
Just my stance on it.

The thing that bothers me about people saying you shouldn't have sex until you're married, is that people divorce. And people cheat. And even if you're married to someone doesn't mean you love them and you're going to spend the rest of your life with them.

I think that you should feel a commitment towards someone before you do anything (oral, or otherwise). But as to what constitutes someone losing their virginity, I say any "sexual" actions get rid of a virgin status, but that's just me.

I think you should NOT have sex with a person unless you are truely in love...if you know you are going to be with this person for the rest of you life....But you dont have to wait until your married....just wait til you KNOW i is love

I personally will not have sex while I still live with my parents, and don't buy my own food, pay my own bills etc. I think sex is a totally independant thing, and that it's the last step to becoming a woman.
So, I know other people have different opinions ont hat, but that's mine.
Won't do it til then.

You're considered not a virgin anymore when you had the penis - vagina sex and I also think that the term "virgin" only refers to that kind of sex because it's like the last part, if you get what I mean.

Because of everyone elses definition on sex, I'm not even sure if I'm a virgin anymore!
But everyone has different views, I suppose it's up to me.
But this was really interesting.
Do you think fingering classifies as sex? Because if to some people oral sex does, then..?

i believe that you shouldn't do it at a really young age. your just... idk. not ready i guess. but like okay... i have a friend that has a friend who is pregnant. she is 15. she started having sex when she was raped at 12. then went into prostitution.
she really doesnt want the baby but cant do anything but have it and take care of it. its family. they wont let her.

We were taught that any genital to genital contact makes you a non-virgin. That and oral sex and touching.
IDK though.
I don't think you should have sex at a young age. Your not ready for it nor is your body. It always comes with dire consequences...like for instance having to talk to your art teacher about giving a guy a hand job and then getting the sex talk like my friend did.

I don't believe oral sex is the same as sex because both of you aren't engaged in it, IF you know what I mean.
I agree with you Gemma. Sexual intercourse is sex. If we start calling all kinds of sexual activity "sex" we might as well start calling all types of fruit "bananas".
As for losing your virginity, In dictionary.com it says "virginity" is "the state or condition of being pure, fresh, or unused. "
So I reckon you lose your virginity... when someone first touches you "there" in an intimite way. So not when your parents change your nappy so to say, but the first time you "get it on".
I dunno, that's just my opinion.
Sex is sex, and virginity is lack of sexual activity.
