My view on people with Music these days...
I've discovered lately that alot of people aren't into bands because of the bands 'Music', they're into bands because of the band members themselves. It really gets to me and i'm sure, alot of you. Here's an example....
Paramore, alternative band from Franklin. Band members Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Zach Farro and Jeremy Davis. Out of every Paramore based fansite, i've noticed the majority of the boys like Paramore because of Hayley and they concentrate on commenting saying stuff like "Omg Hayley is so hot!" or "Woow Hayley is stunning". They don't even say anything about the bands music or any other band member, when that's what they should be doing. I've seen comments by the majority of the girls saying "Hayley is awesome! and Josh PHWOAR!", there's nothing about the music!! I myself am a Paramore fan, not because of the bands members. But because of the one most important thing, THE MUSIC! Their music is so nice to listen to and very entertaining. I've only been listening to them for about 2-3 months, but they've grown on me so much! To be honest, i think Hayley is too full over herself don't you think ? I mean yeah, she's pretty but... Ya know, it's gotten too out of hand now. Too many fansites of her and she's just using it to her advantage to become more well known, she's already really famous. So why keep going ?
Do you agree with this ?, i'd be happy if you were. Cause it's been annoying me for so long and i thought i'd let you hear my opinion (:.

honestly, just because you've met hayley or what not, doesn't mean that she's a sweet person. she may appear to be sweet, and talk one on one, but duh. what makes you think that she wouldn't be sweet? they have an image to keep up. it's the same way for any band, though. i firmly believe in liking a band for the music, and if the members are inspiring and wonderful, then hey. you get a bonus. but you really can't try to defend a member without fallacy because, when it comes down to it, you don't know them.

I kind of agree.
The music is really important, it's what makes the band the people they are. I can understand though, why some people may obsess with a band because of the members. Like, there was a time when I went completly off Green Day, but I still found Mike Dirnt to be awesome.
Sometimes though, if someone is really into a band member, the music will eventually grow on them, and they wiil become a fan of that bands music. It just takes time.

Personally for me now, it's all about the music, hell tbh I don't even know most of the members names of my favourite bands, I just don't care enough about them as individuals. All I care about is the sound.
But I have to say it wasn't much different to what you describe above back in the 80's. Everyone around me was into Duran Duran mostly because of how hot the guys were - i admit to having a thing for Roger :tehe: I think this phase is largely the realm of the younger teenager though, by the time I was 15 I just didn't care anymore, neither did most of my friends. If the music sucked, it sucked, no matter how hot the guys were.
And as for Paramore? Couldn't say, I've never listened to them, not really my cup of tea so to speak.

There's a fine line between a lot of things eh? I mean the first thing I'll always fall for is music. If they happen to be down to earth people then that's great. I get what you mean though. I hate it when bands are only recognized for their image and not talent. Hell, what's even worse is when bands are recognized when they don't deserve it and it's just because they look "good." Ah, humanity fails.

I like the sex pistols music, but not them. I really like this blog. I enjoyed it, and yeah a lot of times I see people on here who don't even like Green day. Then why join? But sometimes its the fans who ruin it, the fans of My Chemical Romance ruined their music for me. This is specifically one of the reasons why I wanna go into the music industry; to change this.

I never really understood why people liked Paramore. I never saw what was so great about them. I've only heard two of their songs. They're okay, but It takes me a while to get used to music. Especially what today's world calls 'music'

I agree. I don't ever "obsess" or like a band if I don't like their music. If I say something about how "hott" they are, I generally love their music first and foremost.

Paramore is great because their harmonies and symphonys like, blend with Hayley's voice and it's this big blow to your head of like amazing sh*t.
Hayley is a down to earth person. She's extremely sweet and is anything but full of herself. my friend julian met her an warped tour and he said that she hugged him first, and she did most of the talking and they did have a real conversation.
just because she has a wonderful voice and is beautiful dosen't mean she's some conceited b*tch. yes, she's famous. that's what musicians can only hope for: success.
Yeah, it`s horrible that people re taking music as a fashion statement and not for beauty and passion, which is what it really is.
I agree with you but not on what you said about Paramore.

well, i can honestly say, i don't like one single band for the members. i like them for the music. there's a few bands where i love the members a whole lot, like the ergs! but, i also enjoy their music just as much, and possibly even more.
i hate how some people say they like a band because of the members. and ALSO, how some people post bands they "like" but in reality, then don't.. and they just say they do, cause they wanna be cool.

I agree, but I think thats why a lot of bands now are popular, not because they are good musicians, or the writings good, but because of their image.
