Jade Goody
We’ve all seen the news coverage of Jade Goody’s short battle with cervical cancer. We’ve seen how she’s struggled to give what she has to her kids in the short period of time she has left and has been flaunting her disease publicly to get money to fund her kid’s future. Fair enough she wants to give her kids a great future. But flaunting herself to the word seeing her slowly deteriorate into nothing is sickening. Especially to anyone who has lost someone to any form of cancer. To be honest I’m sickened that she’s living out her last few weeks in the spotlight. Everyone treating her as if she was a celebrity.
She isn’t a celebrity. She just made a fool of herself on national T.V and happened to have two kids to a T.V presenter. That doesn’t make her a celebrity. After her stay in the big brother house we never heard of anyone from that series until a few years later on the celebrity big brother. A come back for dying celebrities who wanted to be noticed again for their supposed achievements. She didn’t have one thing apart from the Shilpa Shettie race row where she was supposedly bullying the young Indian girl. Jade Goody’s tragic news struck on T.V during some sort of interview where she was told she had cervical cancer. Months later it had spread and now she’s losing her sight and is scared to fall asleep in case she never sees her kids again. She knows she’s dying and so does her latest husband Jack Tweed who is most likely trying to be there for the kids while Jade suffers, still with a smile on her face.
But I’m disgusted with the fact that she’s being portrayed as some sort of martyr for cancer patients. That she’s had life so bad and terrible that her ordeal is plastered in every newspaper. Personally I think that’s wrong to other patients who are going through the same thing or perhaps worse yet still their stories are silences in filing cabinets and on death certification documents. She is no hero. What also disgusted me is that her kids are being cared for by charities while she has a well deserved rest. I’m sorry but maybe if she didn’t give interviews for so long, maybe just maybe things would have been slightly different. When my mother died of cancer nobody thought once of looking after my now toddling sister, but because Jade has been on TV once or twice she gets everything handed to her on a golden platter and I think that’s wrong because there are plenty of others who have kids and is dying of some sort of cancer and isn’t given the same treatment. Jade’s newly married husband Jack Tweed was given compassionate leave from his prison sentence to have a stag night, take care of Jade and the kids and also broke his curfew but got nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Doesn’t it make you sick that if that was any other person they would only get to be beside their loved ones on their deathbed
I’m disgusted with the whole thing actually and I hate to say it but maybe it’s true. We know Jade Goody hasn’t had the best life in the world and nobody really has but a lot of people have said she was once a bad person. Well maybe bad things happen to bad people. Karma.

Some people are still acting like this even now she is dead.
I mean, I know it's horrible for people to die from cancer, but wtf did she ever do that made her special?
There are LOADS of people dying from cancer and she got everything easier on her.
I feel for her kids, though. It must be awful for your mother to die, no matter how bad she was they still loved her because she raised them.

So people deserve to die for a difference of opinion?
That's just as close minded as what she believes. To be honest I don't think she was as racist as that Danelle Loyd. Because she was attractive they had her nude the very next day in a newspaper.
Nobody has the right to deal out death and judgement no matter what they have done in this life.
Honestly she's doing 2 good things with it.
She's making sure her kids have plenty of money, at least that way she can know they'll have a good life even if she isn't in it.
Also she's making a strong impact to women that cervical cancer is serious.

tbh, i have no idea who is that person.

No one deserves it, regardless of who they are.

I must say, I'm watching my grandmother die like that right now. Stomach cancer that spread. Now SHE is a person who didn't deserve that. She was a kind, gentle lady who put up with a lot she never deserved from my grandfather.
Jade Goody, however, is a racist pig.
I couldn't really see her crying (unless it was captured on camera of course) for Shilpa Shetty if this happened to her (God hope it doesn't).

'It's easy to say you don't give a sh*t when you haven't seen someone die like that.'
it's also easy to assume that i have been locked in a bubble all my life and have never known anyone who has died from cancer.
it's viscous, and hurts me greatly when it strikes a loved one, but jade goody isn't a loved one or a liked one as a matter of fact. I'm not saying i don't feel sorry for people with this disease, it's awful for people to go through but it's cancer, it's going to hit one in three of us. wow, jade got cancer. so will 33% of the population. I will probably get cancer, so what. she is making money from dying, it would be better if the money was being given to a cancer research charity that will benefit (hopefully) from it. (i don't know if she has given any of the money to charity, because i don't read the newspaper articles)
just my two cents.
don't shoot ):

i know she's been stupid in the past but no-one deserves cancer and cancer as bad as she has it. i know millions of people are suffering as much as her but the thing is, max clifford is making money out of her and he won't stop until he has her dead body on the telly.
her kids are the people i most feel sorry for. at the end of the day, they're gonna grow up without a mum and no-one should ever have to go through that, no matter who your mum is.

Everyone is going to die- fact.
But nobody deserves to die like that.
It's easy to say you don't give a sh*t when you haven't seen someone die like that.

I think she should've stopped with the camera's and everything at the wedding.
Until then it was watching a woman make the best out of her last months and get the money she needs to be satisfied that her sons will have a good life.
Now it's nothing more than watching a strong person slowly fade away and either in incredible pain or so doped up with Morphine that she doesnt know whats happening. Back then she still had the strength of mind to make the decisions about things getting publicized. Now someone needs to stop it all and let her die in peace with her family, not with a camera.

You are horribly insulted because I said that I don't care what happens to Jade Goody?
Uh okay.
I am horribley insulted, yes, because it's a terminal illness that she has and to think you don't actually care, that is a hurtful comment to me. Obviously, you don't know the woman, nor do I. But I have witnessed the affects of cancer on a patient, and on a mother, my own mother and because of that, I would never say I didn't care, even if I didn't know the person.
Even the word cancer strikes a fear of panic and sympathy across the minds of millions of people.
But like I said, each to their own.
Dr.Hymen, March 11th, 2009 at 07:17:07pm
the thing is, people nowadays would do anything for money. even if it's just for their children.
I personally think it's horrible that a mother has to do something like that to ensure her children a good future when she's about to die.

i don't even know who she is, nor do i know why she is famous, but it's completely unsuitable to actually think that another person is deserving of cancer, or any other illness, actually. she's a human being with feelings, and no matter how much you dislike her, you cannot deny that.
anyways, my prayers are with her and her family.
get famous, March 11th, 2009 at 07:02:54pm
First thing I said was 'couldn't have happened to a more deserving person'
&&
Couldn't give a sh*t about her.
I have never been more insulted in my entire life. Those comments, whether they are your personal opinions or not, completley shred any hope I had left on humanity. They actually brought a lurch to my heart and stomach. I am so disgusted by them.
Cervical cancer, regardless of who the person is, should not be seen as deserved. It is a horrible, life wrenching disease that rips families apart. My mother suffers from cervical cancer and she obviously has no article written in the paper about her, but she doesn't see that as a problem.
How could you guys say that a human being deserves that terminal disease? No one deserves that suffering and pain.
I am horribly insulted by them comments.
Jake, I respect your opinion, it was a well written blog, I just don't agree with it fully. I don't think a lot of patients would appreciate having their illness publicised. I don't know why Jade Goody wanted it publicised, you said it was for money reasons for her children, I don't know. But I say each to their own.
Dr.Hymen, March 11th, 2009 at 06:50:41pm
I feel sorry for her children, poor boys.
Couldn't give a sh*t about her.
