Happy Halloween! - Green Day in Manchester

October 31st. I'd been looking forward to that day for weeks. Months even. And finally it came. On that day I was going to see Green Day.

Me and my dad left the house at 3pm to go and pick up my friend Lydia and her dad. Then we drove to Manchester. Me and Lydia chatted and ate pocky in the car while listening to Green Day, I hadn't spoken to her in ages. At about 5pm we found somewhere to park in Manchester, then we walked around a bit looking for somewhere to eat. Me and Lydia wanted to go to the Hard Rock cafe but my dad said it was too expensive. So we went to Pizza Hut instead.

Then at about half 6 we went to the MEN. Before going to our seats we made a stop at the merch stall to buy t-shirts. I love mine. Then we went to our seats. Me and Lydia were in block 110 (oposite the stage to the right) and our dad's had seats somewhere in the upper tier. We sat down and waited for Prima Donna to come on.

Suddenly the room went black and someone shouted 'Happy Halloween!' It was the leadsinger of Prima Donna. They launched into their songs, they played about 5. All of these songs were played much louder than I was expecting. The floor was vibrating! They were good live, I recognized their songs from MySpace.

Once Prima Donna finished Billie Joe and all the other members of Green Day appeared. But as soon as I saw the big coat Billie was wearing I knew it wasn't Green Day. It was Foxboro Hot Tubs! They played three songs, Stop Drop & Roll, Mother Mary and Sally. They were amazing, I've always wanted to see them live.

Then the pink bunny came on. I love the pink bunny. He stumbled around the stage drinking beer and danced to the YMCA! That was great.

After the bunny Green Day came on. They played an amazing setlist and really interacted with the crowd. The girl who played drums during Knowledge was really amazing! The girl who got 'saved from her sins' in East Jesus Nowhere was so cute. She was from San Fransisco, Billie was really surprised! Billie also sang a bit of Hey Jude, Teenage Kicks and Champane Supernova during King for a Day.

Everything about the show was amazing. Definitely a great first concert. I can't wait for the next time they come to England. I'm definitely going!
