Adam Lambert's "shocking" American Music Awards performance
Well, you all saw the performance, you've read the feedback from the angry parents who are urging us to 'think of the children', and you've most likely voiced your own opinion. Most of you know that I thought his performance was great, but honestly, people need to stop and listen!
Think of the children? The children who were allowed to watch this? Okay, so maybe you didn't know Adam was going to act like a manwhore on stage, but hell! If I didn't want my kid watching someone acting the way he did, I'd change the channel as soon as it got nasty!
Britney Spears. Madonna. Lady Gaga. Rihanna. Fergie. What do they have in common? I bet you can guess. Well, if women are allowed to hold concerts involving 'sexy' performances, why is a man not allowed to be a little risque? Why is it that a gay man can be condemned because he's pushing the envelope, and then people can turn a blind eye when a woman is doing it? That's called DISCRIMINATION. Yep. Condmening a person because of a certain trait is discrimination. And women fought so damn hard for equal rights as men, why do gay men (or men in general) have to fight so damn hard to be performers? Because that's what it was. A performance. A person playing a character and then getting off stage and back to reality.
I don't really know what else to say. This was more of a rant than anything, and I may get called an idiot and all that. Ah well.

I think that its a little out of line to simulate oral sex on a stage, regardless of the genders of the participants. o-O in some cases you really do have to 'think of the children.' x] and lady gaga is a bad example for anything. imo.

Anyway, what you've described is true. It is discrimination
I think what really went wrong and caused a lot of negative reactions from everyone was how much thought Adam put into his performance. This made a lot of people cringe. Though he had a big fan base, there were still many people that didn't know who he was, and he gave them too much of a preview. I think he should've kept his AMA performance for his own concerts and made a less risque performance for the TV, y'know (Hey, hey, something like his "Whole Lotta Love" performances)?...ESPECIALLY if he was aware of the fact that, "Oh, this is my first TV performance since American Idol."
I mean, the TV (depends on which channel) audience is way different from the actual concert audience.
So, as much as the people need to listen, Adam needs to listen, too. =)
