My Music course. Why I love doing it

At the start of 2009 I started a VET Music course. At first I thought "This is gonna be hard. I'm not gonna be able to handle it. I'm not gonna make any friends". I was wrong.
The highlight of every week was Wednesdays from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. The first task we were given was only hard because I wasn't familiar with the computers because it was at a different school. After the first two weeks I got familiar with the computers and started talking to people. I made ten new friends; Marcus, Esther, Hannah, Jeremy, Eddie, Blake, Jack, Lachlan, Luke and Jesse.
I was also wrong about it being hard. When were given a task we were also given the website we needed to complete it. The guests that came in to talk to us were clear, to the point and they knew what they were talking. The best part of the course was getting to record a song. It could be anything we wanted. I was in a band with Hannah, Eddie, Blake and Esther. Hannah was on lead Guitar, Eddie was on rythm Guitar, Blake was on Drums, I was on Bass and Esther was on Vocals. At first we came up with a really good riff...then the holidays started and we forgot it lol. So we just decided to cover the Red Hot Chili Peppers, we were all like them and we all knew how to play their songs. We chose Dani California.
After we recorded the song we had to film a video clip for it. We didn't wanna copy the Red Hot Chili Peppers completely so we were all dressed up as different sub cultures. I was a goth, Eddie was a bogan, Hannah was a hippy, Blake was a punk and Esther was a sporty girl.
When we weren't playing music we were learning everything there was to know about the industry; networking, CD publication, management, producing, recording and setting up for concerts. During our break me and Marcus would walk to safeway just down the road from the school. We always bought juice and a croissant or chips, sometimes both.
The thing with VET Music was that it wasn't like a normal class at school. 1st you didn't have to wear uniform, you could leave the school grounds on your break and you had someone there who was involved in the industry and you help you leanr more. We had Eric Powell. He is a DJ and has travelled the world working with different bands. He knows so much about the industry. And because we were computers rooms and rooms with electric things and we only got half an hour break, we were allowed to eat in those rooms.
I started the course again on Wednesday and it was so good to see everyone again. We have some new faces and I've started talking to them. I'm doing the business part of the course because I did a lot of performance stuff last year and not enough business stuff. Eric has always known me as "the girl who is into weird things" and that has not changed lol. The best thing is when we're all there and the school's normal students are there to, we can't get into trouble for anything because we're only there once a week. So I could run past a classroom thats still going, singing We Are The Champions at the top of my lounges and the teachers can't do anything about it. But I wouldn't do that anyway lol.
