'The biggest show of their lives' and I was there...

This was the second time I had seen Green Day, I went to Birmingham last October, which was the best thing I had ever seen, until now...

So lucky to be there, so lucky! Especially as the bus broke down on the way! But at least being late meant we didn't have to wait to get in! (I went with my boyfriend)

Support was Frank Turner and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, awesome acts but it kinda went over our heads as we were waiting for the Greatest Band on Earth to come on stage!

A little while after Joan Jett went off the infamous pink bunny came on stage! And was funny, as ever. Music was playing loud; classics like the Beatles' Revolution 9 and the Ramones' Blitzkrieg Bop.

Suddenly to whole stadium (90,000 capacity) went silent. And the words 'Sing us a song of the century' were heard and the crowd screamed! Then 21st Century Breakdown started during the song Tre came on first, then Mike and then... Billie Joe Armstrong! And then 'Oooooooooooooo oooo oooo wooo oooo! Born into Nixon, I was raised in hell,
A welfare child where the Teamsters dwelled.
The last one born and the the first one to run.
My town was blind from refinery sun.
My generation is zero
I never made it
As a working class hero!'

What an awesome intro to a gig, the greatest gig on Earth!

Oh, look at the sky, the clouds have parted because Jesus wants to see his favorite band play! I actually called Jesus to ask him to do that, but he said 'no, I don't believe in your music'. So i called Satan- Just goes to show that Billie Joe Armstrong can get away with anything!

So the gig continued, songs that were played
'Song of the Century'
'21st Century Breakdown'
'Know Your Enemy'
'East Jesus Nowhere'
'Holiday'
'The Static Age'
'Give Me Novacaine'
'Are We The Waiting'
'St. Jimmy'
'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams'
'Nice Guys Finish Last'
'Burnout'
'Waiting'
'Geek Stink Breath'
'Dominated Love Slave'
'Hitchin' A Ride'
'Welcome To Paradise'
'When I Come Around'
'Iron Man'/'Sweet Child O' Mine'/'Highway To Hell'
'Brain Stew'
'Jaded'
'Longview'
'Basket Case'
'She'
'King For A Day'
'Shout'/'Teenage Kicks'/'(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction'/'Hey Jude'/'Paint It Black'
'21 Guns'
'Minority'
'American Idiot'
'Jesus Of Suburbia'
'When It's Time'
'Wake Me Up When September Ends'
'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)'

Really great set; Waiting and When It's Time were a nice surprise.

Throughout the concert Billie Joe was really in his element, he said that "This is the biggest fucking show we have ever had in our lives. This is going to be the best rock 'n' roll show Wembley has ever seen." That was the moment that I knew, I was one of the luckiest people in the world at that very moment!

It was such an emotional experience, for the band and for us. A quote from Billie: 'There have been many bands that I like and they have split up... There have been many of them that have died... But the only way I am getting out of this band is in my fucking coffin!'

There were times during songs like Wake Me Up... where I just could not sing, I was too choked up, this is an experience I could never forget!
