Getting A College Degree
Note: This is actually a report I did for school. The assignment was to write a persuasive composition. I learned a lot from writing it...
"WOOHOO! Today is Graduation Day! No more school for me!" This is a common phrase you will hear coming from many graduating high school students. You can definitely see where they are coming from. After all, they have been in school for thirteen years! While getting a high school degree is an important step in leading a successful life, getting a college degree should be considered just as important.
With a college degree, you can earn more money than you could with just a high school degree. As a matter of fact, someone with a bachelor's degree can earn twice as much money as a high school graduate! Just think of how much money that would be! You could finally buy that Jaguar car you have been dreaming about since you were seven!
Another important reason on why you should get a college degree is that some jobs require you to have one. Usually the jobs that require a college degree are the higher-paying ones. Getting a college degree could help you finally get the dream job you have always wanted, such as being a doctor or teacher.
College will also help you learn skills and information you will use the rest of your life. College extends the depths of many of the concepts you learned in high school and even middle school. Not only will you learn school-related concepts in college, but you will also learn life concepts, such as how to get along with other people, how to share (if you live in and are sharing a dorm), etc.
Still questioning why you should go to college? Well consider this: over the average adult's working life, a person with a high school degree can be expected to earn approximately 1.2 million dollars. That is a lot of money! But that is nothing compared to how much money someone with a bachelor's degree can expect to make over his or her working life. Someone with a bachelor's degree can expect to earn 2.1 million dollars! Someone with a master's degree can earn 2.5 million dollars! A professional degree will get you 4.4 million dollars over your working life!!! Instead of getting one Jaguar, you could get five or six of them (and even afford insurance)!!!
If you want to go to college but you think you can't afford it, do not let that stop you. There are many ways to get into college! You can get a scholarship if you are smart or you could even apply for a Pell grant. There are student loans available as well. Do not get discouraged if you aren't floating in money. If you work hard, you are guaranteed to get into college.
Getting a high school degree is an important step in life, but you should definitely consider getting a college degree afterwards. You will earn more money, get the job you have always wanted, and you will feel smarter than ever. You will meet new people, learn new things, and once you have graduated from college, you will leave with tears in your eyes representing happiness and pride.

Great job dude! It's a great topic. College is seriously the place that separates the leaders of tomorrow from the average working class, great job! Not that I'm criticizing the working class, because some people don't have a choice, like my family. But if you really want to make something with your life, then college's the place to go!
I just got an awesome idea from this idea that I gave you! xD I'm gonna post some of MY old essays! Again, great job! =)
