A Punk Rockin' Journey

Ever since........ I don't know first grade or something I had a dream. A dream that I would become a famous guitar player. Well ya know what???!!! I don't even know how to even play a stupid guitar and I bet you I never will. One time I was at my friends on The Fourth of July, and he was listening to some hardcore, punky, rebel, a slap in the face kind of music. I was all like, "Dude! What the heck is this pounding music???!!!" I mean it was hardcore punk rock pounding down my eardrum I mean it was loud! All of a sudden my friend turned the music down and he said, "Green Day." I was scratching my head and I was all like "What in the sam heck is Green Day???!!!" All of a sudden he told me "Come on girl, I bet you you've heard a couple of Green Day songs before" Then he turned on Rock Band and handed me the microphone. After that he said, you're gonna' sing 21 Guns." I was the embarrassed thinking "Oh my God, i'm going to sing in front of all my friend singing a song I never even heard of." Then the song started "Do you know what's worth fighting for? When it's not worth dying for? Does it take your breath away? And you feel yourself suffocating." I was trying to sing along but it was hard knowing your best friends are looking at you with a smile on their thinking "God, can this girl even sing?" After that, I told my mom that I wanted to go home. We went home I cried, I spoke, I ate, and I told myself "I'm such a dang coward!" A few months later I went to San Francisco for a one day vacation. My dad loved music so we went to Amoeba Music Store. I was walking around to pass the time and then I crossed a CD that changed my whole view of music. I saw a CD with a hand crushing a grenade shaped of a heart and in big bold words it said "Green Day Presents American Idiot" After that i've been listening to Green Day every single day.
