Global Warming

We keep getting told that global warming is the most serious issue in modern times. It had been in the news ever since the early 2000's, maybe even before, I don't know. The fact is, due to the pollution we create, we are making the tempreture rise in the earth. If we don't stop it soon, they are saying it will destroy the earth.
As I live with a variety of people with strong opinions, I have listened to a heap of different views.
My Dad's: He thinks Global Warming does not exist. And if it does, it is more likely from a change in the earth's weather patterns or a change in the route of the earth's circling of the sun. He says that we are only measuring the tempreture rise since about 106 years ago, so how do we know that this isn't just a normal change of the earth? After all, maybe after the icecaps melt we'll go into a second ice age.
Although I disagree with my Dad, some of his points are relevent. It could just be a change in the earth's rotation of the sun. And we don't exactly know that this hasn't happened before. But I do think pollution has some role in thise. We can just spit out toxic fumes and expect nothing to happen.

My Mum's: My Mum is not inclined to talk with me about this. She just doesn't like discussing stuff like this. She has said, however, that the melting of the icecaps could be a way of the earth balancing out the droughts by introducing more water in the oceans.
To be honest, I think here that my Mum is being a little optomistic.... but it does make a little sense. Not that much, but she does have a point.

My Mum's Beautician, Vanessa: She thinks that we have about 90 somethings years until the tempreture rises too much and we all die. Unless something is done soon.
This is a more grim view, it is a little scary to think about. But it provides motovation for the stoppage of global warming.

My close friends: They usually don't think about stuff like that. They think I am too serious. But, if I force them they usually have a very pessimistic view. They say that global warming won't be stopped, and the earth is doomed.
This view from my peers is daunting. If they are so sure the earth is doomed, when they grow up will the even try to help? In fact, is it even pure laziness that stops them from looking at the pure possibilty?

My teachers: They are very serious about this issue, especially my science and geography teachers. They tell us frequently about conferences they go to about Global Warm, discussing ways to cut down on pollution. I have told them various good websites about the subject, such as Green Day+NRDC

Myself: I believe in Global Warming, but because of the mixed views of others around me I have many arguements for and against it. I just hope that humans aren't too lazy to take action and help out, for once.
